2013 Chrysler 300 problems
The Chrysler 300 is a full-size car manufactured and marketed by Stellantis North America and its predecessor companies as a four-door sedan and station wagon in its first generation (model years 2005–2010) and solely as a four-door sedan in its second generation (model years 2011–2023).
The second generation 300 was marketed as the Chrysler 300C in the United Kingdom and Ireland and as the Lancia Thema in the remainder of Europe.
Background
The Chrysler 300 continues a tradition of large front engine, rear-wheel drive V8-powered luxury sedans the company has offered, starting in the 1940s with the Chrysler Saratoga and Chrysler New Yorker, followed by the Chrysler Windsor, Chrysler Newport and the Chrysler Cordoba, with the last rear wheel drive sedan, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue that ended production in 1989.
When the company began operations in 1925, the Chrysler Six was entered as a roadster in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans where it finished the race, and in 1926, the Chrysler Imperial started the tradition of luxury and performance products. Starting in 1955, the Imperial became its own luxury brand and offered the Imperial Newport along with the Imperial Crown. The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

STEERING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-05-21
- Number Of Injuries: 1
- VIN: 2C3CCAJG6DH
- Components: STEERING
- Summary: IN MARCH 2019 I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE A CHROMED SECTION ON THE STEERING WHEEL WAS PEELING BACK AND HAD CAUSED ME TO CUT MY THUMB ON IT. THEY LOOKED AT THE CAR AND THEY ALSO CALLED ON MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS COSMETIC IN NATURE. I TRIED WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE WARRANTY (ZURICH) PERSONNEL AND THEY SEEMED AT FIRST AS THOUGH THEY WOULD TRY TO ASSIST AND THEN DECIDED NOT TO. I DID NOT PURSUE IT ANY FURTHER SINCE. ABOUT A MONTH AGO I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND MY RIGHT HAND THUMB RAN ACROSS ANOTHER SECTION OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT PUT A CONSIDERABLE CUT IN MY THUMB. I HAVE A PHOTO OF THAT AS WELL AS THE PIECE THAT BROKE OFF IN MY THUMB. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT COSMETIC IN NATURE BUT REALLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM BUT THE STEERING WHEEL HAS THE HEATED FEATURE AND I USE IT ALL THE TIME IN THE WINTER. IT DOES SEEM TO GET VERY WARM FROM THE HEAT AND I AM NOT SURE IF THAT COULD BE CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM. I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT THE FACT THAT THIS PROBLEM IS SOMETHING THAT WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE OVER TIME AS THE CHROME PLATING CONTINUES TO PEEL AWAY. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST FROM NEGLECTFUL USE, IS VERY REAL, AND AGAIN SHOULD BE LOOKED AT FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT. WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED, IT CAUSED A QUICK REACTION TO LOOK DOWN AT MY THUMB TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND CERTAINLY DISTRACTED MY DRIVING THAT SUDDENLY. I WOULD APPRECIATE THIS BEING LOOKED INTO FOR ME AS WELL ANY OTHER DRIVER THAT MAY HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. *TR

This car is the best thing that ever happened to me. You're going to love it. It's big and sexy as hell!
-
Wow, it's great to hear that you came out unhurt from a head-on collision accident with your 2007 300C SRT8! That must have been a scary experience. After that, you stayed without a car for 3 months until you found your 2013 3.6 Pentastar, which you were really impressed with. It's amazing that you're getting 7.5L per 100km, that's really impressive! In South Africa, it seems like the luxury segment of the motor industry is monopolised by German sedans, but you're getting so many great features for the money you're paying. Your car is big and really stands out on the road, which must be a great feeling. It sounds like you're planning to keep the car forever, and I can see why! Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

What a fantastic ride! It's so much fun to drive, and the BEATS sound system is absolutely amazing. Although I'll have to part with the car soon, I never thought I'd have such a hard time doing so.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2013 Chrysler 300. Unfortunately, I've had some trouble with the air conditioning and have had to take it to the dealer four times since purchasing it on February 23, 2013. Despite the inconvenience, the dealer has been working with Chrysler to resolve the issue and I was informed on May 7th that the car should be fixed and ready for pick up on the 8th. However, I haven't heard back from the dealer and my calls have gone unanswered. I'm disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism, as I've never experienced anything like this before. One time, I was even told that it wasn't hot enough yet for the air conditioner to work, and another time they wrote on the repair slip that I didn't know how to use it without even looking at it. I appreciate your understanding and hope we can work together to find a solution. Thank you!

I would rate the car a B-, but unfortunately, the Uconnect phone system is not up to par. Despite my cell phone being compatible according to the Chrysler website, the connectivity is poor. The phone often un-pairs by itself, and the text box opens and scrolls through all my contacts without my initiation. It's frustrating to have to repeatedly push the cancel or X button to turn it off. Dialing out takes up to 8 minutes, and I often receive 'not connected' messages. I've tried everything from updating the system to replacing the Uconnect, but unfortunately, the issue persists. It's disappointing to see that many people are experiencing similar connectivity issues with this system. I hope that Chrysler can address this issue soon.

Hi there! I've been taking great care of my 2013 Chrysler 300 since December 2013, using synthetic oil and keeping up with regular maintenance. On road trips, I've been getting an impressive 38.9 miles per gallon, while in the city I average 24.9 and 35 on the highway. The Uconnect system works perfectly with my HTC M9, updating my phone book and displaying caller ID. As a 65-year-old in Tallahassee, this car has been perfect for me. The only issue I've had was a Bluetooth software malfunction, but it was quickly resolved. I'm happy to report that the car is still performing well, with no cracks or tears in the interior. I've only had to take care of minor repairs, such as Bluetooth and recalls. I had my first tune-up and brake work at or above 100,000 miles, and there are only indications of normal seat wear. Overall, I've had a great experience with my Chrysler 300, with no extra costs except for normal oil changes and tire rotations with front-end alignment checks every six months. Thanks for reading!
