Background
The Chrysler 300 continues a tradition of large front engine, rear-wheel drive V8-powered luxury sedans the company has offered, starting in the 1940s with the Chrysler Saratoga and Chrysler New Yorker, followed by the Chrysler Windsor, Chrysler Newport and the Chrysler Cordoba, with the last rear wheel drive sedan, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue that ended production in 1989.
When the company began operations in 1925, the Chrysler Six was entered as a roadster in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans where it finished the race, and in 1926, the Chrysler Imperial started the tradition of luxury and performance products. Starting in 1955, the Imperial became its own luxury brand and offered the Imperial Newport along with the Imperial Crown. The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-04-08
- VIN: 2C3LA73W76H
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE
- Summary: Yesterday I experienced an SUA incident and nearly lost my life. I was entering a freeway and began to accelerate my car. Suddenly I felt as if the gears kicked and the car began to accelerate on its own to max revolutions. I pressed down on the brakes to see if it would stop and there was heavy resistance. I took my foot on the break and the car began to accelerate and rev completely on its own and the engine felt as if it was going to explode. I luckily was able to jam my foot on the break and pull over to the emergency lane and eventually come to a full stop. From there I put the car in park and removed my foot from the break pedal. Again the car began to jump to full revs with the engine screaming. I turned the car off and on several times and this continued to happen. After waiting one hour I was able to start the car and drive 20 mph back to my home and I will have it towed to a repair shop shortly. If I panicked or was not strong enough to press down on the brake pedal, the car would have accelerated to full speed and I certainly would have died and likely other people would have too.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-12-27
- VIN: 2C3KA63H46H
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: Car stalls out when driving. Almost was rear-ended, broadside, front ended and sideswiped too many times to note! Have new gas tank per recall. Still stalls. Dealership has witnessed stall but can't locate problem and charges me 150.00 for useless diagnostic test and still not able to find stalling problem. Dealership doesn't care. Laughed at me. Had it in shop several times. Nothing. I'm disabled and on fixed income. Dealership attempts to have me purchase new vehicle. I can't afford one! Stalls out when turning, stopped and while maintaining consistent speed. Can't fill up gas tank or stalling is worse. Can't let tank run under 1/4 full or stalling. I'm barely able to drive anywhere due to fear of stalling and getting hit. Chrysler seems to not care. I told service manager that if I or someone else is hurt or killed its their fault for not fixing or caring about owners of this car. Death and injuries are going to happen cuz this is so dangerous and horror filled! I don't know what else to do. My beautiful 300 is not safe. I am basically carless. This has been going on for almost 4 years with no resolution or kindness. I almost was hit by a gravel truck when attempting to push car out of road! IM DISABLED!!! I can't go anywhere without being afraid it will stall at anytime for no reason. Dealership has checked repeatedly and diagnosis tests and even left car at dealership for days and still no resolution. They really don't care. I once loved Chrysler and now I am full of fear and anger that Chrysler doesn't care. There is numerous complaints about the same problem. Dealership did suggest I have a full tune up at several hundreds dollars! HA! Said a tune up will not fix it and nothing showed on diagnosis a need for tune up. Car runs beautiful when not stalling! My heart is broken. What's the point of charging me 150.00 for nothing? Then laugh when car stalls as I leave dealership. Guess that's how poor people are treated.

The consumer explained that the service was related to a recall and would not sign any insurance related paperwork. UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-10-30
- VIN: 2C3LK63HX6H
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The car is prone to intermittent stalling, in which the engine cuts out without warning or signs of stumbling. Often it happens at idle or when initially accelerating from idle, but has also happened several times at speed, up to 40 mph, with accompanying loss of power steering. Sometimes the engine kicks back on after a momentary loss of RPMs, if at speed, but other times it does not. I have brought it to two Chrysler dealerships and three independent mechanics in an effort to find the problem, with various parts being replaced, including the X53 extended warranty for the 19 gallon fuel tank, but the problem persists without successful diagnosis. Only one of the independent mechanics was reportedly able to replicate the condition. Usually, the check engine light, electronic throttle control light, oil light, traction control, and electronic stability lights turn on during a stall, and sometimes the check engine light stays on. The car may several trips without a stall and then stall multiple times in one trip. It usually does not generate a code, but sometimes produces P0700 and U0100 codes. The car always starts again following a complete stall. These symptoms appear fairly widespread in 2006 Chrysler 300 vehicles, based on car owner forums. The level of fuel in the tank does not appear related.

I just finished a 4000 miles trip in a week in my 300. This car has the most comfort of any car I've ridden in. The handling was awesome. The V-6 engine has as much kick in passing as a typical V-8. It moves when you need it to. It's a luxury car that I would highly recommend to anyone in the market for a new car. It's well worth every penny it costs.

I bought my 300 brand new and was so excited, but unfortunately that excitement was short-lived. I experienced some issues with the sunroof, which had to be totally replaced, and then the transmission started acting up. I had to take it in and out of the dealers multiple times, and even after they put in a new transmission, it still isn't quite right. Additionally, the tires wore out in about 16,000-20,000 miles, and although there was a tire recall, I unfortunately had to pay for them. On a trip at 30,000 miles, a sensor went out in Iowa, which was frustrating. While I love the look of the car, I have decided to purchase a Corvette instead. If you're considering a 300, it's important to note that they have low resale value and can be expensive to maintain.

I bought this car brand new in November 2006. It's a great combination of power, handling, and luxury all in one package. I've owned high-end Lincolns, Oldsmobiles, and Buicks, but this car is one of my favorites, second only to the Buick Park Avenue. The 300C AWD offers ample power, superb handling, and amenities that provide a superior driving experience for both the driver and passengers. In the three years that I've owned it, I've only had to visit the dealership twice, and both times were for minor issues - a tech bulletin notice for a transmission seal leak and a failed navigation CD. Both issues were handled promptly and without any further problems. I plan on keeping this car for a long time, right alongside my Park Avenue!

The car has fantastic acceleration and the doors make for easy entry and exit. While the suspension may be a little stiff, the ride is still comfortable. The car also boasts a great style, although the rear quarter panels could be a little sturdier. Perhaps this is something that could be improved in the next version.

I recently purchased a 300C with 32,000 miles. It's a silver model with an updated grill and some chrome, which gives it a great look. The car handles well and the suspension allows for rapid cruising, making it perfect for windy roads. The power is always there when you need it, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The Boston stereo is okay, but I plan to upgrade the rear speakers soon. I particularly enjoy the large sunroof, which lets in a lot of air and light. As someone who has always owned big cars with V8 engines, I can say that this car has not let me down. Overall, it's a great package for the price.

I really like the look of the car, but I wish I had known it was underpowered before I bought it. Unfortunately, the salesman didn't offer me a test drive of the 3.5. I'm a bit concerned about the transmission, especially since the car weighs almost 4,000 lbs. Surprisingly, my old 98 Ford Taurus had better performance. Oh well, live and learn. I'll probably look into trading it in before the warranty expires.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my car that I bought back in 2005. I absolutely love driving it and think it looks great, but unfortunately, I've had a few issues with it. About two months after purchasing it, I noticed some shuddering problems between 30-40 miles per hour. I brought it into the dealership, but they were never able to fix it or even replicate the issue. It's been almost 7 years now, and I'm still having the same problem. It's frustrating because I know that this is a known issue, and it seems like they're not doing anything to help their customers. Now that my warranty has expired and my car has over 170,000 miles on it, I keep getting told that I need a new transmission. I'm considering taking legal action under the lemon law. In the beginning, I also had some electrical issues, like the back window not rolling down and the EBS always being on. Despite these problems, I've never actually broken down, but I do worry about the car's dependability. Thanks for listening to my story!

This car requires a lot of maintenance and can be expensive to own. It has needed new tie rod ends at 40,000 miles and new lateral arms, a right rear axle seal leak, transmission leak, power steering leak, and several front end alignments at 90,000 miles. While I had considered giving this car to my son to drive, I ultimately decided against it. If you are willing to invest a significant amount of money into keeping this car on the road, it may be the right choice for you.

My 2006 Chrysler C car has been a complete nightmare due to recurring transmission problems that the dealership has been unable to fix. Despite its attractive appearance, this car is highly unreliable and has required multiple visits to the repair shop. In my experience, it is the worst car I have ever purchased. I am confident in my assessment of this vehicle's poor quality and would not recommend it to anyone.

This car is unreliable and has caused me a lot of trouble. Despite regular maintenance, I have had to replace several expensive parts within just two years of owning it. The water pump alone cost me $600, and I had to pay $1700 to repair a cracked head caused by the car running hot when the water pump failed. Now, the car is stuck in park, and I have learned that many other Chrysler owners are experiencing the same issue due to a faulty plastic piece in the shift box. Unfortunately, Chrysler has not issued a recall for this problem, leaving customers to foot the bill for repairs. Based on my experience, I will not be purchasing another Chrysler car in the future.
