The Chevrolet Cruze is a compact car that has been produced by General Motors since 2008. It was designated as a globally developed, designed, and manufactured four-door compact sedan, complemented by a five-door hatchback body variant from 2011, and a station wagon in 2012. During its introduction, the Cruze replaces several compact models, including the Chevrolet Optra which was sold internationally under various names, the Chevrolet Cobalt sold exclusively in North America, and the Australasian-market Holden Astra.
The Cruze was released in 2008 for the South Korean market as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere until the phasing out of the Daewoo brand in 2011, when it was renamed to Chevrolet Cruze. In Australasia, the model was sold between 2009 and 2016 as the Holden Cruze. In 2016, the Cruze sedan was restyled and renamed for the Australasian market as the Holden Astra Sedan, as a sedan complement to the Holden Astra family.
Due to the market shift towards SUVs and decreasing sales, the Cruze has been gradually phased out. Production of the Cruze in South Korea ended in 2018 as part of restructuring of GM Korea, which in turn ceased supply of the Holden Astra Sedan to Australasia. In the United States and Mexico, production ended in 2019, while production in China ended in 2020. Production continued in Argentina until 2023. It was replaced by the Monza in China, which is known as the Cavalier in Mexico.
Previously, the nameplate has been used for a version of a subcompact hatchback car produced under a joint venture with Suzuki from 2001 to 2007, and was based on the Suzuki Ignis.

She tried to turn the steering wheel t take the exit and everything got locked on her immediately from steering wheel and the break paddle caused he car shift to the curb and hit the side walk because it went out if control because the tire split out the wheel along with another piece from wheel behind the tire , almost killed my daughter on the seen . I had spent in this At least $10k and now it barely passed &100k Just unbelievable. This car is piece of trash no safety in this car now I parked the car and I’m trying to think what to do with it. I will take it back to the GM and the Chevy dealers and I’m complain because even the dealers for the GM and Chevy are the worst people to deal with and the worst customer service. - Summary: My 2015 Chevy Cruze has had the Turbo replaced because it was blown. It has had every component that connects to turbo replaced, MAP sensor, wastegate, the intake system, the manifold gaskets, the coil pack, fuel injectors idle control valve, coolant bypass hose and engine coolant housing, oxygen sensors, oil pressure sensor switch, purge valve solenoid, and of course the oil pan gasket. Every hose has been changed in case of pin hole for air leak too. I run Iridium spark plugs, high test gas, do my oil changes on time with full synthetic oil but yet every time something gets fixed the check engine light comes back on. Living in the great (not) state of NY you cannot have check engine on for inspection, I financed this with Carvana and this car has been nothing but problems. I would think looking at all the reviews on here CHEVROLET WOULD DO A RECALL ON THESE CRUZE’S! The turbo’s are a major issue and cost Thousands of dollars to repair… Like many others I live on a very tight budget I’m on disability and cannot afford to keep trying to fix this car. It’s time to do something about it, maybe a class action lawsuit on the turbo’s……

I'm a bit over 100,000 miles and I have a lifetime power train warranty but it won't cover any electrical parts only greased literal parts of engine or transmission. I'm not certain it's true anymore they replaced everything so far over 2 years but I'm at theor mercy. Zurich warranty is not covering this and I'm shocked it went just b4 100k miles and now I'm at 107k. No problems with electrical. I requested to have cable replaced because I have been in the shop to much missing work. Then I foundThere is a service bulletin recall for exactly what was happening with my car. I was told my Vin didn't match and that was it!! Despite being my exact problem. I am female so I think I was just ignored. I got a battery that I may not have needed and requested cable because I didn't want to loose steering. By stopping so soon code may not have appeared at dealer. Igot a $70help with bill of $626 for a repair. should be included in this recall despite vin . - Summary: There are two main problems I've seen them time and time again ( on YouTube sure not great credibility but hear me out) the intake manifolds are not tightened tight enough come lose and start making the motor shudder misfire losses power and then the coolant line t isn't secured good enough and burst from high pressure I understand wanting to use plastic over metal its cheaper but aluminum would have been more reliable then after that the intake manifold causes the coolant line to burst at the t which causes your head gasket to blow which in turn kills your turbo and possibly if driven ( if it's possible to drive mind you I was almost hit twice just trying to get off the road ) kills your catalytic converters and that's a complete engine failure that could have been prevented

- Summary: When i turn the A/C on, it appears a message on the screen that says A/C off due to high engine temperature. The car is losing coolant without external leak. A mechanic performed a cold pump test to the cooling system and no external leak was found. After that it was performed a compression test at a shop to each cylinder, finding that there's a bad head gasket. My car only has 70.000 miles and it has a bad head gasket already. This can cause an accident because when your engine is overheating, you should pull over your car as soon as possible to avoid any serious damage on your car. Besides that, the losing of coolant should cause a fire on the engine. There are recalls for the same vehicle but not for the 2015 Cruze and I have read lot of complaints about the same issue.

This part was recalled on the 2011-2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Mine is a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze purchased in August 2015. No warning lamps told me of this problem. Onstar did not detect it.

When going to take off from a stop sign there’s lag or it won’t take off at all even floored. I’m getting milky oil so I’m getting condensation from somewhere. This trickle effect all starts off my MAF sensor and has progressively gotten worse. I’ve had the MAF, o2 sensor, turbo valve , spark plugs, battery(s) changed all trying to fix this issue and 2 years later I’m still fighting with it. Yesterday while heading home I couldn’t go over 45, and it would stutter and feel like your driving on rubble strips, when I got home it smelled like something was burning, popped the hood and the dipstick showed “black” oil but in the oil cap there the milky oil in and around the cap as well as my fan being SUPER loud after it’s shut off.

As a result, the fastening bolts may back out completely, causing the parking brake bracket to separate and the parking brake to not hold the vehicle in place. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
- Consequence: If the parking brake bracket separates, the parking brake may not hold the vehicle, increasing the risk of a vehicle roll away and a crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the left-rear and right-rear parking brake brackets bolts, tightening them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began in March 24, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 15135.

Just picked up my Cruze a couple weeks ago. I always drove Chrysler products all my life. After my Dodge Caliber fell apart, I got this Cruze. I love the room, comfort, and performance, especially for a car of this size. If GM keeps making cars like this, I doubt I'll be going back to Chrysler again.

This car is a budget vehicle, plain and simple. It may not be as roomy as a Suburban or as powerful as a hot rod Z28 Camaro, but it serves its purpose well. I bought the car to save my truck from wear and tear during my daily commute of 17,000 miles a year. Now, for the review: The good news is that it offers awesome bang for the buck, with a sporty interior and exterior. It also has decent tech, including Bluetooth, OnStar, a sound system, airbags, great visibility around typical blind spots, plenty of headroom, and a big trunk. Plus, it gets an impressive 33 to 36 mpg. The only downside is that the engine is a little underpowered, but the car still has decent acceleration. I find myself skipping 5th gear and going straight to 6th gear often, which is too high of a gear for the underpowered engine to accelerate meaningfully (the car could have been a five-speed without the 5th gear and with the same ratio). If you're the type of person who trades in their car often, beware that this car will have very little trade-in value due to its compact size and manual transmission. However, it is an improvement from the Cobalt in every way, except for the engine.

This car is surprisingly quick and has great handling. It also has impressive traction, which helped me avoid getting stuck in a muddy front yard where my Honda Civic would have gotten stuck. The steering is sharp and responsive, making it a pleasure to drive.

Be prepared to have it in for servicing frequently. While I have had to replace several parts, such as the mass flow flow sensor, pvc valve, and intake manifold gasket, I still believe it is a great car with excellent handling. Additionally, it has rust protection coating and provides excellent gas mileage. Overall, I would highly recommend this car.

In the past 2 years, I have had to replace the head gasket, water reservoir, tire sensors, battery, and deal with malfunctioning locks and slipping when going into reverse. Despite these challenges, I am confident in my ability to address any issues that may arise. Although I still have a check engine light on after picking up the car from the dealership 6 days ago, I am confident that I can resolve this issue. Overall, I am satisfied with my car and its performance.

After only 80 miles in my brand new 2015 Cruze, three of my tire pressure sensors have already malfunctioned. Additionally, the door handles feel cheap and like they could fall off at any moment.
