The Chevrolet Cruze is a compact car that has been produced by General Motors since 2008. It was designated as a globally developed, designed, and manufactured four-door compact sedan, complemented by a five-door hatchback body variant from 2011, and a station wagon in 2012. During its introduction, the Cruze replaces several compact models, including the Chevrolet Optra which was sold internationally under various names, the Chevrolet Cobalt sold exclusively in North America, and the Australasian-market Holden Astra.
The Cruze was released in 2008 for the South Korean market as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere until the phasing out of the Daewoo brand in 2011, when it was renamed to Chevrolet Cruze. In Australasia, the model was sold between 2009 and 2016 as the Holden Cruze. In 2016, the Cruze sedan was restyled and renamed for the Australasian market as the Holden Astra Sedan, as a sedan complement to the Holden Astra family.
Due to the market shift towards SUVs and decreasing sales, the Cruze has been gradually phased out. Production of the Cruze in South Korea ended in 2018 as part of restructuring of GM Korea, which in turn ceased supply of the Holden Astra Sedan to Australasia. In the United States and Mexico, production ended in 2019, while production in China ended in 2020. Production continued in Argentina until 2023. It was replaced by the Monza in China, which is known as the Cavalier in Mexico.
Previously, the nameplate has been used for a version of a subcompact hatchback car produced under a joint venture with Suzuki from 2001 to 2007, and was based on the Suzuki Ignis.

Summary of Issues: 1. **Electrical Issues and Unsafe Repairs**: I incurred substantial costs, including a recent invoice of **$2,210.72** dated **October 23, 2024**, for a supposed resolution Salt Lake Valley Chevrolet was supposed to have resvoled for an electrical issue. Despite this, the electrical problems remained unresolved, indicating a lack of professional workmanship and charges for servces not rendedered. Also additional time and money wasted. 2. **Damaged Oil Pan**: Salt Lake Valley Chevrolet caused damage to my oil pan, and they attempted to charge me **$866.00** for this damage. I believe this to be an unfair and unjust practice that reflects poorly on the integrity of their service. I authorized an oil change with the electrical issue and after service the car came home leakinig oil. They damaged the components. An oil change would not have been conducted had there been damage. The April invoice with this company will also show a previous oil change and at that time no issue. 3. **Continued Safety Hazards**: I paid **$531.12** on **September 23, 2024**, for a battery cable replacement, oil change, and tire rotation, which resulted in a new leaking oil issue and a flat tire. My vehicle broke down in traffic due to these unresolved problems, creating a potential accident hazard on the road. She tried to turn the steering wheel t take the exit and everything got locked on her immediately from steering wheel and the break paddle caused he car shift to the curb and hit the side walk because it went out if control because the tire split out the wheel along with another piece from wheel behind the tire , almost killed my daughter on the seen . I had spent in this At least $10k and now it barely passed &100k Just unbelievable. This car is piece of trash no safety in this car now I parked the car and I’m trying to think what to do with it. I will take it back to the GM and the Chevy dealers and I’m complain because even the dealers for the GM and Chevy are the worst people to deal with and the worst customer service. They’re not helpful at all. I have went to local shops. They do better job but the thing is this car is piece of crap Replacing and go back. I am not spending any more penny on this car now I have to get a brand new car for my daughter to go to college she needs it better or don’t sell more cars. - Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Equinox, Impala, Cruze, Volt and Bolt EV vehicles, GMC Terrain vehicles, Buick Lacrosse and Regal vehicles, Cadillac XTS and XTS Professional vehicles and 2018 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. The rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating causing gas pockets to form, potentially reducing rear brake performance.
- Consequence: A reduction of braking performance can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will bleed the vehicle's brake system, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2018. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18279.

I bought my LTZ Cruze brand new with just a few miles on it. I've had it for 9 months now and have already put 36k miles on it. The front seats are comfortable and spacious, but the back seats are a bit cramped for a family. However, since it's usually just my wife and me, it's perfect for us. On road trips, I've driven from Nashville, TN to New Orleans, LA and averaged about 38mpg. When driving on back roads at 60mph or less, I get between 36-38mpg. On the interstate at 70-75mph, I tend to get about 30-32mpg. I prefer the back roads, which is perfect for this car since it loves curvy roads. The handling is quite nice with very little body roll and tight, sharp steering. I've taken it on many trips into the mountains and it handles mountain climbs without any struggle. The only downside is the brakes, which could use an upgrade. Sometimes, especially on mountain roads, I can feel vibrations in the brakes. Since I plan on keeping this car for a long time, I may invest in a brake upgrade once the factory ones have served their purpose. The only other downside is the value, which is typical of most American-made cars. The LTZ with all the bells and whistles costed around $38k new, but now with 36k miles on it, it would be lucky to get 18k to 20k for it. However, overall I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to many more adventures in my LTZ Cruze.As mentioned earlier, this is a car that I plan on keeping for a long time. Therefore, it's important to really enjoy it before investing in a Cruze. However, if you do love it, you'll be satisfied with your purchase. Although I had some complaints with my 2015 model, it seems that they have fixed these issues with the 2016 and 2017 models. The only performance issue I noticed was when driving in the mountains with the A/C on, the automatic transmission would shift poorly. To work around this, I switch to manual mode and shift myself. Overall, I am happy with the car as it serves its purpose.

This car is built very well and has a long list of features. Chevy has done a great job of creating a diverse lineup for the Cruze. The MyLink features, such as Pandora, navigation, and XM, are easy to use. The screen position, size, and clarity are excellent! Driving the Cruze is fun and, for a change, I am looking forward to my next road trip. Although the back seat room is a bit tight for 6' adults, the trunk is huge for a small car. If you are 5'10

When I compared this vehicle to the foreign cars that I owned in the past, I found it to be superior in terms of ride, technology system integration, price, interior/exterior design, and safety. As someone who has always owned foreign cars - three (3) Nissans and four (4) Mercedes - I never thought I would own an American-made car. However, this car has exceeded my expectations and provides great use for my business when I am away from the office. I am always connected to the internet.

I rented this car for a summer vacation trip and noticed a few things. Firstly, the rear window has a smaller visibility view which made it hard to see the road directly behind me. However, further back there was no problem. Secondly, the speed limit indicator was quite annoying as it went off every time I went over 55 mph. It took me an hour to figure out how to turn it off, but eventually, I found out that I had to go to the driver information center settings to do so. Lastly, the Auto Stop feature was the most annoying of all. The engine shuts off every time you stop until you take your foot off the brake, which causes it to restart. This constant turning on and off during city driving was extremely annoying, with the engine shuttering each time it restarted. However, the car performed well on the highway, and the gas mileage was great. The rearview camera was also a very nice feature, and the A/C worked well. I rented a 2015 Cruze last year and was impressed with that model. However, I would consider the 2016 model a downgrade due to the Auto Stop feature. If you're looking to buy, I would recommend taking it out for a half-hour drive in the city to get a good feel for the Auto Stop feature before making a final decision.

After reading several positive reviews, we decided to make the purchase. However, we later experienced some issues with the engine. In hindsight, we should have read the negative reviews as well. It is disappointing to have to replace the engine at only 70,000 miles, despite our regular maintenance and oil changes. We are still making car payments and now have to pay for a new engine. It is frustrating that GM is aware of these issues but continues to sell this model. We have heard similar stories from others who are also struggling with the same problem.

Rides great and has a surprisingly spacious interior for a small car. It's very easy to drive around and make turns. However, I did experience a few issues such as a check engine light at 30k miles, slow and laggy acceleration, and a leak from the rear window which may have been poorly sealed from the factory.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my purchase of a Chevy and the customer service I received. Despite my family's history of selling and driving Chevy's, I have encountered a major issue with my 2011 Chevy Cruze. I brought it to Lannan of Woburn, where I purchased it, in May of 2016 due to transmission issues. Despite being covered under warranty, I was told nothing was wrong with it. Now, at 70,000 miles, my car has completely stopped working and requires a $4,745 transmission replacement. As a college student commuting an hour to school, I cannot afford this expense. I opened a case with GM, but was met with extremely rude customer service representatives who were unhelpful. I urge Chevy to consider a recall, as many other recent reviews describe the same issue. Despite my car being old, it has not yet reached the mileage marker for this issue. I expect better from a company with such a long history of producing quality vehicles.I find it highly unlikely for a car's transmission to blow frequently at only 70,000 miles. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, I was denied with the explanation that they would all say the same thing. Despite my frustration, I was informed that there was no resolution for my issue and the call was ended abruptly. As a loyal customer, I am disappointed with the lack of assistance provided. I expect a satisfactory resolution to be reached.

I was rear-ended and Enterprise provided me with a car that had only 4,000 miles on it while mine was being repaired. The interior looked great, the seats were super comfortable, and the touch screen info center was surprisingly good. The colors were vibrant, the touch sensitivity was nice, and Apple CarPlay was very cool to use, especially since my current car is not new enough to have that feature. The backup camera was a nice touch too. The ride quality was a little soft for my taste, but still very comfortable. The steering was a bit too mushy for me, but that's a common issue with American cars. The acceleration and power were satisfactory, especially considering the small size of the engine. For 1.4L of displacement, I was actually pleasantly surprised. The brakes were a little touchy, but I prefer responsive, powerful brakes to squishy ones so no complaints there. Overall, I had a positive experience with this car. However, I did have one issue with it - the auto-stop technology. This feature temporarily shuts off the engine when the car is stopped, for example, at a red light, to save fuel. While this sounds great on paper, it ruins the driving experience of this car. Every time I come to a stop, I feel a slight shudder as the engine shuts off. Once this happens, the auxiliary battery engages to power all the car's accessories temporarily (a/c, radio, 12v ports, headlights, etc) until the engine starts turning the alternator again. However, running an a/c compressor takes a fair amount of energy, so to ensure the auxiliary battery is not drained, the Chevy Cruze turns your a/c fan speed all the way down to the lowest setting next to off. This can be a bit frustrating, but overall, I had a good experience with this car.In my opinion, it is unacceptable when a feature that is supposed to happen behind the scenes alters my climate control. It can be frustrating, especially in the Texas heat where cars left out in the sun can reach interior temperatures well in excess of 140 degrees. The delay when the car is in neutral and then jolts forward as the engine turns over and the clutch is engaged can make it feel unsafe to drive. However, I believe that this car has potential to be very nice if this feature were to be removed. I have not noticed the car sensing when the operator is in stop and go traffic versus daily driving, but I hope that Chevy can improve this feature to ensure the car does not constantly turn on and off in bumper to bumper traffic. I am sure that I am not the only one who feels this way, but I hope that Chevy can address this issue to make the driving experience more enjoyable.I hope you find this helpful!
