The Chevrolet Cruze is a compact car that has been produced by General Motors since 2008. It was designated as a globally developed, designed, and manufactured four-door compact sedan, complemented by a five-door hatchback body variant from 2011, and a station wagon in 2012. During its introduction, the Cruze replaces several compact models, including the Chevrolet Optra which was sold internationally under various names, the Chevrolet Cobalt sold exclusively in North America, and the Australasian-market Holden Astra.
The Cruze was released in 2008 for the South Korean market as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere until the phasing out of the Daewoo brand in 2011, when it was renamed to Chevrolet Cruze. In Australasia, the model was sold between 2009 and 2016 as the Holden Cruze. In 2016, the Cruze sedan was restyled and renamed for the Australasian market as the Holden Astra Sedan, as a sedan complement to the Holden Astra family.
Due to the market shift towards SUVs and decreasing sales, the Cruze has been gradually phased out. Production of the Cruze in South Korea ended in 2018 as part of restructuring of GM Korea, which in turn ceased supply of the Holden Astra Sedan to Australasia. In the United States and Mexico, production ended in 2019, while production in China ended in 2020. Production continued in Argentina until 2023. It was replaced by the Monza in China, which is known as the Cavalier in Mexico.
Previously, the nameplate has been used for a version of a subcompact hatchback car produced under a joint venture with Suzuki from 2001 to 2007, and was based on the Suzuki Ignis.

Summary of Issues: 1. **Electrical Issues and Unsafe Repairs**: I incurred substantial costs, including a recent invoice of **$2,210.72** dated **October 23, 2024**, for a supposed resolution Salt Lake Valley Chevrolet was supposed to have resvoled for an electrical issue. Despite this, the electrical problems remained unresolved, indicating a lack of professional workmanship and charges for servces not rendedered. Also additional time and money wasted. 2. **Damaged Oil Pan**: Salt Lake Valley Chevrolet caused damage to my oil pan, and they attempted to charge me **$866.00** for this damage. I believe this to be an unfair and unjust practice that reflects poorly on the integrity of their service. I authorized an oil change with the electrical issue and after service the car came home leakinig oil. They damaged the components. An oil change would not have been conducted had there been damage. The April invoice with this company will also show a previous oil change and at that time no issue. 3. **Continued Safety Hazards**: I paid **$531.12** on **September 23, 2024**, for a battery cable replacement, oil change, and tire rotation, which resulted in a new leaking oil issue and a flat tire. My vehicle broke down in traffic due to these unresolved problems, creating a potential accident hazard on the road. She tried to turn the steering wheel t take the exit and everything got locked on her immediately from steering wheel and the break paddle caused he car shift to the curb and hit the side walk because it went out if control because the tire split out the wheel along with another piece from wheel behind the tire , almost killed my daughter on the seen . I had spent in this At least $10k and now it barely passed &100k Just unbelievable. This car is piece of trash no safety in this car now I parked the car and I’m trying to think what to do with it. I will take it back to the GM and the Chevy dealers and I’m complain because even the dealers for the GM and Chevy are the worst people to deal with and the worst customer service. They’re not helpful at all. I have went to local shops. They do better job but the thing is this car is piece of crap Replacing and go back. I am not spending any more penny on this car now I have to get a brand new car for my daughter to go to college she needs it better or don’t sell more cars. - Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Equinox, Impala, Cruze, Volt and Bolt EV vehicles, GMC Terrain vehicles, Buick Lacrosse and Regal vehicles, Cadillac XTS and XTS Professional vehicles and 2018 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. The rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating causing gas pockets to form, potentially reducing rear brake performance.
- Consequence: A reduction of braking performance can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will bleed the vehicle's brake system, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2018. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18279.

Still loving the car! You've already put over 12,000 miles on it and still no problems, that's great! I know some people have had issues, but so far you haven't experienced any. Your trip to CA in October sounds amazing, and the gas mileage you got, about 45 to 48 mpg, is fantastic! It's great to hear that you still love your Cruze!

I was initially drawn to the car for its impressive MPG and it has certainly lived up to my expectations. During a recent 600-mile trip to LA and back, which included freeway driving, backed-up traffic and mountain passes, I was able to achieve an impressive 47+ MPG. Additionally, the car boasts an impressive level of power. Even when I set the cruise control at freeway speeds going uphill, the car held its speed and didn't downshift, even on the Grapevine or Cajon Pass. The car has a definite sporty feel, but it still rides very nicely and the leather seats are quite comfortable. My only complaint is that the MyLink system reset once and then stopped working for no apparent reason, but it did start working again later on.

I was searching for a more economical car after having an Impala for the last 6 years. I wanted better MPG without a huge price tag and I got more than I bargained for with the Cruze. I got the imperial blue metallic, lt rs model and it looks sharp. I've put over two hundred miles on it in four days and I find this car to be super roomy, even though I'm a husky fellow at 5'8

That's a nice car you have there, a 2017 Cruze R/S Premier. The heated seats are great, but I noticed that the cushions tend to compress over time and become uncomfortable. For longer trips, I recommend getting a pillow. I'm not a fan of the steering wheel radio tuner, though. If you have normal-sized hands (and probably even if you have larger hands), you'll likely accidentally change the radio channel or turn up the volume every time you rotate the steering wheel. It's not very useful. On the bright side, the car handles the road extremely well and has the same quality as my former BMW and Benzes. I mostly drive on the highway and love the mileage (around 40 mph). The ride is a little rough, but that's to be expected with the sports version.

My husband and I purchased this car on May 31st, 2012 and we absolutely love it! It has great gas mileage, which is perfect for us as my husband is in the National Guard and has to drive over an hour for every drill weekend, and we are both full-time college students. Saving money on gas every month is fantastic! The only issue we had with the car was when I drove it to Peoria, which is an hour and a half from our home. Unfortunately, it broke down about 10 miles from my destination. I had the car set on cruise control on the highway and all of a sudden the RPMs shot up and the speed started decreasing rapidly. It's worth noting that both my husband and I learned to drive with a manual transmission, so we're quite familiar with cars.

I purchased this car back in March, thinking I got a good deal with only 20,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, a few weeks after buying it, the check engine light came on, and when I checked it, there was no code. A couple of weeks later, the driver headlight went out, which was surprising since the headlights in my truck have been working for four years without any issues. Then, the front driver side window motor stopped working, and the window dropped down (I live in Oregon, where it rains a lot, so this was not ideal). To top it all off, the car shut off out of nowhere and then started up again 10-15 minutes later. I am also surprised that the manual transmission blew up after only 26,316 miles, considering that I did not drive it recklessly. I bought this car to avoid putting a lot of miles on my truck and for fuel efficiency, but it turns out that the fuel mileage is about 12 miles off from what the little screen shows. As soon as this car is out of the shop, I plan to get rid of it. Overall, this has been the worst car I have ever owned, and I strongly advise against buying it. Thank you for reading!

I purchased my Chevrolet Cruze with the expectation of owning a dependable vehicle. However, after only one year and 34,000 miles, I encountered an issue where the car stalled. I took it to the dealership, but even they were unable to diagnose the problem due to the computer malfunctioning. Despite this setback, I remained confident in their abilities and they were able to use a diagnostic tree to identify the issue and replace the mass air flow sensor. Although there was a cost of $300, I am pleased to report that my vehicle is now running smoothly and I am confident in its reliability. This car has had multiple issues since I purchased it in 2016. Within a week of buying it brand new, the brakes failed and it took a month to fix. In December, I noticed a bad oil leak and took it in for repair. The mechanics claimed that nothing was wrong with it after putting dye in the oil, but a week later the oil was still leaking. I took it back and they found a leak in the seals, which took 2 weeks to fix. However, about 4 weeks ago, oil started leaking again and after having my car for nearly 2 weeks, they found another leak and had to replace more seals. I am disappointed with the quality of this car. Additionally, I was told I would be reimbursed for the cost of a loaner car, but now I have been informed that I will not be reimbursed. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing.

I purchased the 2013 Cruze Eco brand new with only 11 miles on it. It was my wife's car and she drove it very carefully. Unfortunately, we experienced a few issues with the car. At around 18,000 miles, one of the spark plugs went bad. Then, at 30,000 miles, we noticed that the intake was leaking oil. Later, at 45,000 miles, we discovered that the water pump was also leaking. The final issue we had was when the turbo oil cooling tube leaked almost all the oil out to the engine at 72,000 miles. Unfortunately, GM said that it was not part of the engine warranty and we had to pay out of pocket to fix it. Although we were disappointed with the situation, we decided to trade it in for a new 2017 Hyundai Sonata limited. While the trade-in value was not great, we are happy with our new car and have had no issues with it in the 86,000 miles we have driven it so far.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my Chevy Cruze 2012. After driving it for 80000 miles, I noticed some issues that were a bit concerning. Recently, I experienced a safety issue where the computer showed some error messages related to the stability control system, traction control system, power steering, and check engine light. This caused some problems with the transmission and almost led to an accident while driving on the highway today. I've noticed that many others have had similar issues with their 2012 Chevy Cruze.
