The Chevrolet Corvette is a line of American two-door, two-seater sports cars, manufactured and marketed by General Motors, under the Chevrolet marque, since 1953.

All Corvettes used front mid-engine configuration for seven generations, through 2019, and transitioned to a rear mid-engined layout with the C8 generation.

In 1953, GM executives accepted a suggestion by Myron Scott, then the assistant director of the Public Relations department, to name the company's new sports car after the corvette, a small maneuverable warship. The first model, a convertible, was introduced at the 1953 GM Motorama as a concept car; production models went on sale later that year. In 1963, the second generation was introduced in coupe and convertible styles. Originally manufactured in Flint, Michigan, and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette has been produced in Bowling Green, Kentucky, since 1981, which is also the location of the National Corvette Museum.

The Corvette has become widely known as "America's Sports Car." Automotive News wrote that after being featured in the early 1960s television show Route 66, "the Corvette became synonymous with freedom and adventure," ultimately becoming both "the most successful concept car in history and the most popular sports car in history."

AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
  • Consequence: THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE AN INADEQUATE SEAL AT THE CONNECTION, POTENTIALLY LEADING TO A FUEL LEAK. IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD OCCUR.
  • Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).

    Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with this car. I bought it with 66k miles on it and unfortunately, I've had a few issues with it. The water pump and alternator needed to be replaced, and there were some small electrical problems. Additionally, there was a problem with the torque converter, which turned out to be due to Chevy putting the wrong one in. I've had to get a few tuneups as well. I'm currently looking to sell it, but I wanted to share my experience with you. Thanks for listening!

    Great Car! It has been kept indoors every night, with the paint waxed annually and kept clean 24/7. The 6-speed has never been raced and has had an adult owner. It is 100% dependable and the engine compartment is as clean as the paint. Unfortunately, I suffered an illness in '95 and couldn't drive much after that. However, I have another Corvette for fun. It still almost smells factory fresh!

    Great power, handling, and cornering ability. Not bad in the rain either. As a weekend car, it can't be beaten for the price.

    The car is both affordable and fun to drive. While it may require a tune-up costing around 2-3k at 100,000 miles, it will then run smoothly for another 100,000 miles without much hassle. The engine block is great.

    Best American car - bar none! Exceptional quality for a US manufacturer circa 1990s. Weighing in at 3300 lbs with 300 hp & 330 ft/lbs torque, this car is a true powerhouse. American pushrod smallblock V8s rule! The technology in this car was amazing for the 90's, boasting 5 onboard computers, ABS, ASR, and dual airbags. It's a great weekend or summer hobby car.
