2019 Cadillac Xts problems

The Cadillac XTS (short for X-Series Touring Sedan) is a full-size car built by the American company Cadillac from 2013 until 2019. It is a four-door sedan with seating for up to five passengers. Based on an enlarged version of the Epsilon II platform, it has a front-mounted engine that either drives the front wheels or drives all four wheels.
Replacing the smaller Cadillac STS and larger DTS, production began in May 2012 at the Oshawa Assembly Plant and launched in June as a 2013 model. Marketed with left-hand drive in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, and the Middle East (except Israel), the XTS was also assembled by Shanghai GM, with production beginning in February 2013.

Optional equipment includes separate climate controls for rear seat passengers, coupled with 8" LCD screens that flip up from the front passenger seat-backs, allowing an internal DVD player to display content with wireless headphones. The interior can be outfitted in a large assortment of color combinations, along with four wood selections. That 3.6L engine is really zippy! While the CUE system has improved in several areas, it can still be annoying to program. I found the lack of traction on wet pavement to be quite disturbing, with the wheels spinning all over and no traction control, especially compared to my regular BMW 535d.

Just before the warranty expired, I needed a rear strut replaced. At only 9.5k miles, I was surprised. Yesterday, I had to pay over $3k to have the front struts replaced at 10400 miles. It was quite shocking! It's a boulevard cruising garage queen that’s never seen uneven pavement and the struts are letting go at 10,000 miles?! When did Cadillac start putting such cheap parts into the car? I was considering trading for an XT6, but I'm hesitant now that the current car is falling apart at such low mileage. When I retired, I tried to be practical and turned my 2011 DTS Platinum in for a new 2019 Chevy Equinox. It's a nice little SUV, but I never really bonded with it. I started searching for another Cadillac or Lincoln. I've owned two Town Cars in the past, so I wanted to consider Lincolns again as well. I test drove the CTS, but the ride was too harsh for me. The CT6 was great but quite pricey! The Continental felt like a high-end but very expensive Fusion (which I had as a daily commuter). I drove a local XTS, and it had a great ride, good value, and was very attractive, but it wasn't 'the' car. I focused on locating and found a very low mileage certified Premium Luxury XTS AWD in my desired white/beige combo online, purchased it, and had it shipped out. The second I laid eyes on it and slipped behind the wheel, I loved EVERYTHING about it! It's beautiful, has excellent fit & finish, is so comfortable, big yet easy to drive, and an incredible value (especially in comparison to similar Continentals which are ridiculously overpriced). My family and friends are impressed by it, but that's not why I bought it. I wanted the looks, comfort, and safety features of a large traditional luxury car. The XTS is quite a good value compared to the Cadillac CT6 & Lincoln Continental. As a retiree, pricing was a major consideration, but I don't feel I've compromised at all. It's a wonderful, comfortable, and stylish car that I love to drive!

Nice car! I noticed that it doesn't have mirror sensors for blind spots, which is a shame. It would have been great to have that feature, especially considering how important it is. I only realized this after leaving the dealership and hitting the road. I was surprised that it wasn't included in a 2019 vehicle!

I bought the XTS Premium model and love it. I have had Mercedes, BMW, and Jaguar, but I have fallen in love with Cadillac. The ride, amenities, and overall experience have been exceptional. I bought the car after I had bought the XT5 the week prior to replace my Mercedes GL350. When I was looking at the SUV, I decided to test drive the XTS as well. I could not get it out of my mind, so I went back a week later and bought it as well. I looked at the CTS6 as well, but I really liked the aesthetics and the performance of the XTS much better. I had a CTS-V for a number of years, but I can honestly say this XTS is amazing. Luxury, ride, and amenities cannot be beaten. Years ago, you could not get me to buy an American car, but I am completely sold.

I rented this vehicle for 12 days in San Diego over the holidays. Although I read the manual twice and called Onstar (who unfortunately couldn't help), I still had trouble figuring out even the most basic commands, such as getting the seat memories to stick or getting the trip meter to appear on the display. It was also frustrating that most of the time when exiting the car, the driver's seat would move back and the outside mirrors would point towards the ground, and they wouldn't return to their previous position when getting back in the car. It's really annoying having to reset these items every time you go somewhere. However, I did find it easy to pair my phone. Additionally, the XTS now has rubberband 19 tires that ride like crap! I could feel every little imperfection on San Diego's crappy side streets. On the plus side, the car's handling was quite good. The XTS is a blast to throw around corners, although I miss the sound of a V8 and the car could definitely use 50 more lbs. feet of torque. Overall, I dropped this car off thinking that Cadillac could improve on the car's controls and ride quality. I do know I could never spend $55K on a car whose controls can't be figured out, with a ride that my Ram 1500 puts to shame!

The car has 60K miles on it. I understand that spider cracks on the radio screen are common in most Cadillacs, and fixing it for $1,000 does not guarantee that new cracks won't appear. Connecting an iPhone to the Cue system can be a bit of a hassle. Although the car is beautiful, comfortable, and handles well, I would expect better quality in the electronics.

Nice car! However, I was surprised to find out that it didn't have blind spot detection, which was a deal breaker for me. The car is very comfortable, but there are a few blind spots. Additionally, I was expecting more options for the price point.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my thoughts on the vehicle you mentioned. While it looks great, I found it a bit challenging to drive due to the blind spots and narrow view out of the rear view mirror. Additionally, the distance between the large head rests made it difficult to see behind me, and I often bumped my head when entering or exiting the vehicle. Lastly, I found that the gear shift got in the way of the cup holder, and I would have preferred if they were placed elsewhere or if there were additional cup holders available. Thank you for letting me share my experience!

Of course, the Cadillac name has a certain appeal, but the hype surrounding it may be exaggerated... as is the price.
