The Cadillac CT6 (short for Cadillac Touring 6) is a full-size luxury car manufactured by Cadillac between 2016 and 2020 over two generations. The first generation CT6 was introduced at the 2015 New York International Auto Show and went on sale in the U.S. in March 2016. It is the first car to adopt the brand's revised naming strategy, as well as the first rear-wheel drive full-size Cadillac sedan since the Fleetwood was discontinued in 1996.
In 2020, the CT6 was discontinued in the United States, to be replaced by the forthcoming Cadillac Celestiq liftback sedan.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cadillac CT6, and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. Due to an Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software error, the vehicle's Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Antilock Brake System (ABS) may become disabled. Furthermore, if this specific error occurs, the vehicle's diagnostics will not illuminate the instrument cluster ESC and ABS malfunction warning lights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control" and 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
- Consequence: If the driver operates the vehicle unaware that ESC and ABS are not functioning, there is an increased risk of a crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began February 4, 2020. - Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019 Cadillac CT6 vehicles. Rotation of the steering wheel will not automatically cancel the turn-signals from flashing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment."
- Consequence: If the turn-signals do not automatically deactivate, the driver may fail to turn them off manually. An erroneous active turn-signal may mislead pedestrians and other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: GM has notified owners, and dealers will replace the turn-signal switch. The recall began March 11, 2019. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. The Cadillac number for this recall is N182207090.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Cadillac CT6, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Volt, and GMC Yukon XL vehicles. Certain second-row or third-row rear seatbelts retractor assemblies may not automatically lock when the seatbelt is fully pulled out of the retractor, possibly preventing a child seat from being properly secured. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
- Consequence: If the child seat is not properly secured in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear seatbelt retractors and replace them if necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 7, 2018. The CT6 has been fully redesigned to be very techie and easy to operate. The only downside is that the owner's manual can be a bit difficult to navigate due to somewhat lacking indexing.

The 2018 Cadillac CT6 plug-in has an impressive battery range of 40 miles, and when combined with a full tank of gas, it can exceed 500 miles - more than any current EV car! On battery power, it achieves an impressive 80-100 mpge, and on longer drives, it still manages an impressive 35 mpg at highway speeds and 40 mpg in the city when the 2.0T engine is fired up. I've personally driven over 1,500 miles without the gasoline engine firing up, making it a great option for daily commutes and errands. The CT6's long wheelbase makes for a smooth ride, although rougher surfaces can transmit through the aluminum and steel chassis. The seats are comfortable and wide, with good thigh support for longer legs. Plus, the heated and vented seats can be programmed to turn on every time the car is started. While some tech features like the rearview camera are mostly used in congested settings with limited distance viewing, the night vision works wonders in highlighting sidewalk walkers, and deer silhouettes are highlighted with a flashing display and vibrating seat, giving you plenty of time to slow down. The night vision even works in fog that the human eye cannot see! I purchased this 2018 model new in March 2020 for about half off the listed price, making it an incredible value for the middle $30s price range.

This is my 5th Caddy and it doesn't disappoint. Although, the transmission is the vehicle's only flaw. Hard shifts ruin an otherwise perfect experience. I hope to work with a dealer to repair this concern, but based on the other reviews, I have little confidence.

The ride quality of a Cadillac can be negatively impacted by the use of low profile tires. This was observed in both my 2013 XTS and the CT6, where the same type of low tire caused a bumpy ride and even resulted in expensive wheel damage after hitting a curb. Hello everyone, I wanted to share my first ever review with you all. I purchased a used 2017 Cadillac CT6 with 34k miles on it and drove it problem-free for about 3 months. However, after that, I started experiencing some noises and had to take it to the shop 4 times before they finally fixed some cover rattling on the catalytic converter. They ended up welding it instead of repairing it, which did the trick. Unfortunately, the fuel injectors went out and left me stranded. The last straw was when the car would jerk forward while in traffic. I eventually decided to trade it in for a Mercedes S550, which has been the best decision I've made when it comes to cars. I loved Cadillacs and had a DTS prior, but this experience has made me appreciate the importance of a reliable car. Thank you for listening.

While I appreciate the opportunity to try out a different vehicle, I found the interior space to be quite limited and the seat uncomfortable. Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to let you know that I recently purchased a used Cadillac CT6 2017 on December 27th, 2023. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the transmission is slipping or shifting hard. Since the engine light has also come on, I plan on taking it back to the dealer to have it checked out. It's surprising to me that a car with less than 50,000 miles would have such a hard shift. Thanks for your help!

I really like this car, but unfortunately, the air conditioner doesn't seem to work properly in Texas. Despite having it checked four times, the mechanics always tell me that there's nothing wrong with it. They suggested that I have the windows ceramic coated, but I'm not sure how that would help if the air conditioner is working correctly. When the car is parked outside while I visit my family, it takes about 30 minutes to cool down, and even then, it doesn't always cool down enough, especially for passengers in the backseat. I'm considering switching to a Mercedes as I've never had any problems with that brand.
