The Cadillac XTS (short for X-Series Touring Sedan) is a full-size car built by the American company Cadillac from 2013 until 2019. It is a four-door sedan with seating for up to five passengers. Based on an enlarged version of the Epsilon II platform, it has a front-mounted engine that either drives the front wheels or drives all four wheels.
Replacing the smaller Cadillac STS and larger DTS, production began in May 2012 at the Oshawa Assembly Plant and launched in June as a 2013 model. Interior
In addition to the base XTS, there are five trim packages labeled "Luxury", "Premium Luxury", and "Platinum", with the optional XTS V-Sport offered in both "V-Sport Premium Luxury" and "V-Sport Platinum". Some of the standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, 4G LTE connectivity, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, leather seat-upholstery, 8-way power front seats, parking assist and comprehensive safety equipment like ABS, stability control, dual-stage front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags front and rear, and a driver side knee airbag.
Optional equipment includes separate climate controls for rear seat passengers, coupled with 8" LCD screens that flip up from the front passenger seat-backs, allowing an internal DVD player to display content with wireless headphones. The interior can be outfitted in a large assortment of color combinations, along with four wood selections. Cadillac's CUE system is standard with an 8-speaker Bose sound system, including HD Radio and SiriusXM. An optional 14-speaker Bose sound package includes AudioPilot noise compensation technology.

- Summary: Numerous problems for a year have been: engine dies while driving, car totally dead with new battery, display partially black randomly or totally black along with radio display black, park assist is turned off. Headlights turn off and on by themselves; The latest is driving up a hill @ 25 mph, the steering wheel jerked hard to the right at 2 different times. Had I not had a solid grip on the wheel, it would have taken down a 500 foot drop and we wouldn't be here today. This last episode is the first time their OBD was able to read anything. It read "no communication to steering, no communication to brakes, radio, dash display" and other no communications. This car is unsafe to drive and should be recalled or taken off the road. It has been to 2 dealerships and so far have not identified anything that gives me faith in the reliability in the vehicle.

- Summary: With no warning and only 45000 miles on car rear air suspension motor failed on expressway! I quickly noticed my steering anti red seemed out of control! I quickly pulled over not knowing what was wrong. My husband came to meet me and immediately asked what was in my trunk! I told him nothing he said my back tires were 1/4 inch from hitting wheel well. The rear end was so low if I did not pull over and hit a bump or rock my tire would of hit top of body of car! I would of lost control of car! Thank god I pulled over when I did it could of killed me or someone else in road! I contacted GM within hrs of it happening! As I looked it up on line it said some of my make and model were recalled and safety admin was looking into it! Went back and forth with Gm and dealer and 2 1/2 weeks later still pursuing GM! There is now a claim in for full reimbursement and still have not heard back! My car was out of warranty but this is a huge safety issue! I could of been killed in that car! It will kill someone’s if they do not address this! Lots of calls on my end where it seemed like they were concerned and eager to help! Turned out to be lots of waiting for non returned calls and them not doing anything at this point! Last call was Friday last week when they put in for full reimbursement and a promise to call me by Tuesday! No call so I called today where again I was promised to hear back by end of today! I will attach service receipt! The rear end was so low that tow truck damaged bottom of my bumper! Somebody again is going to be injured or killed from this! Hopefully they don’t deny my reimbursement from this complaint and dealer west Herr Chevy of Rochester wanted nothing to do with any help GM was going to do not sure if that is why I was getting run around from GM! IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO HAVE THE TRUNK SUDDENLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH OR WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH (CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED, INCLUDING 0 [ZERO]). IT IS A SECURITY MATTER AS WHEN PARKED AND THE TRUNK OPENS BY ITSELF, IT LEAVES ME VULNERABLE TO THEFT OF MY PROPERTY. PROBLEM #2 - DRIVER DOOR LOCK. THE DRIVER'S DOOR MYSTERIOUSLY UNLOCKS AT TIMES (ONLY THE DRIVER'S DOOR UNLOCKS -- THE OTHER 3 DOORS REMAIN LOCKED) - . SO FAR, THIS ONLY OCCURS WHILE THE ENGINE IS OFF AND THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND PARKED. I HAVE NOTICED BY NOW THAT ON OVER 10 OCCASIONS, MY DRIVERS DOOR (ONLY) IS ALREADY UNLOCKED WHEN I APPROACHED THE VEHICLE. THE "PASSIVE LOCK" FEATURE IS ON, SO THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS ITSELF AS I WALK AWAY FROM IT (AND I ALWAYS LISTEN FOR HORN CHIRP WHILE WALKING AWAY INDICATING THAT THE CAR HAS LOCKED ITSELF). OTHER TIMES, I DOUBLE-CHECK THE LOCKING BY EITHER USING THE KEY FOB OR DEPRESS THE INSIDE POWER LOCK POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH OR PRESS THE UNLOCK/LOCK SMALL BUTTON ON THE EXTERIOR DRIVER DOOR HANDLE. WHEN I FIND THE DRIVER'S DOOR UNLOCKED, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO MANUALLY RE-LOCK THE CAR. IF I PRESS THE INTERIOR POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTON, ALL 4 DOOR LOCKS LOCK MOMENTARILY, THEN ALL 4 DOORS UNLOCK THEMSELVES - (SO NOW ALL 4 DOORS ARE UNLOCKED). THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO LOCK THE CAR AT THIS POINT IS TO USE THE KEY FOB.

EXITING ANY VEHICLE ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IS SOMEWHAT NERVE-RACKING.

- Summary: PURCHASED MY 2017XT5 9/13/2017. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAIN STREET, I STOPPED FOR A LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. COULD NOT TURN IT OFF NOR COULD I TRY TO PUT IT IN ANOTHER GEAR. A KIND GENTLEMAN, WHO WAS BEHIND ME, GOT OUT OF HIS CAR AND ASKED IF I WAS OKAY. I TOLD HIM THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. HE TRIED. NO LUCK.. I GOT BEHIND THE WHEEL AGAIN AND TRIED TO SHUT IT OFF, AGAIN. EVENTUALLY, IT SHUT OFF. I PRESSED THE STARTED AGAIN AND IT REBOOTED. VERY SCARY... PRAYED THAT I WOULD MAKE IT HOME. NEXT AT, CALLED THE DEALER. EVEN AFRAID TO DRIVE IT IN FOR FEAR OF IT STOPPING BUT I WAS CLOSE TO HOME. THE DEALER KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS. COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG BUT WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGONOSE IT UNLESS IT STOPPED. MY BROTHER TOOK HIS CAR IN FOR REPAIRS AND TOLD HIS MECHANIC THAT MY CAR STOPPED, JUST IDLED, IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAIN STREET AND STARTED LAUGHING. BUT HIS MECHANIC SAID "WAS IT A CADILLAC"? MY BROTHER SAID YES. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE COMPANY WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE TROUBLE. BESIDES THAT, I HAD TO HAVE THE SPRAY FOR THE WIPERS ADJUSTED. NOW, MY SUN ROOF DOES NOT WORK. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I WANT TO GIVE IT BACK. WHAT SHOULD I DO????

- Summary: ALAMO RENTAL CAR PUT MY WIFE AND SON AND ME IN A 2017 CADILLAC XTS AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON THURSDAY 2 FEBRUARY 2017. WHILE DRIVING TO BOULDER ON A 75-MPH HIGHWAY I HAD TO ADJUST THE DRIVER'S SEAT. ADJUSTING THE DRIVER'S SEAT MEANT ALSO HAVING TO ADJUST THE MIRRORS. I KNEW I COULD ADJUST THE MIRRORS BY FEELING FOR BUTTONS WITH MY LEFT HAND. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THE BUTTON OPTIONS WAS DESIGNED TO COLLAPSE THE SIDE MIRRORS; THIS I DID NOT KNOW. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BOTH SIDE MIRRORS DISAPPEARED. I TRIED TO UNDO MY UNEXPECTED ERROR BUT COULD NOT SUCCEED BY TOUCH. MY WIFE AND SON HAD TO SERVE AS "HUMAN SIDE MIRRORS" UNTIL, AFTER MANY MILES WITH NO EXIT, I COULD MAKE A SERIES OF RIGHT-HAND TURNS, STOP IN A PARKING LOT, AND CONSULT AN OWNER'S MANUAL ONLINE. WHY WOULD GENERAL MOTORS HAVE DESIGNED THE SIDE MIRRORS TO BE COLLAPSABLE WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION? I MIGHT IMAGINE WANTING TO COLLAPSE THE MIRRORS WHILE ROLLING SLOWLY INTO A TIGHT PARKING SPACE OR GARAGE, BUT I CAN THINK OF NO EXCUSE FOR ALLOWING THE COLLAPSE FUNCTION TO OPERATE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. ANYONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.

I love this car! It handles so well and accelerates without any lag. The trunk is very roomy too. I have nothing but praise for it. The safety features are amazing and have saved me from trouble a few times. It's the perfect car for those of us who are used to the old Cadillacs from the 1970s and 90s. It reminds me of my old 89 Pontiac SSE, but without the glitches. The luxury, power, and style are all there. I absolutely love it! UPDATE: Driving this car is an absolute pleasure. The ride is great and the safety features work really well. I haven't been this happy with a car since my 1989 Bonneville SSE. It's such a fun and powerful ride!

I purchased my car a year ago, a used fleet car with only 27,000 miles. Although I have read some complaints about the CUE system and other controls, I have had no problems figuring it out. I opted for the stock engine, as this beauty was built for comfort, not for speed. It's my first time owning a car like this; there is not a single knob on the dashboard, which is pretty cool. Sure, you have to look for the button you want, but it shouldn't take more than a second. When I move cross country with my German Shepherd and parrot, we will all be very comfortable in this car. I agree that the stock tires are not of the highest quality for a vehicle of this caliber, but that's an easy fix. There are a lot of nice touches inside; one of my favorites is the ambient lighting at night. I also purchased some cool accessories like floor mats with the shield emblem, and lights that display the Cadillac logo on the ground when the door is opened. As a 60 year old retired computer programmer, if this is my midlife crisis, at least I'm doing it in style. It's a shame that Cadillac is discontinuing all sedans, abandoning the very thing that made the brand great.

This car has lots of trunk space and plenty of room inside. It handles well for a large car and gets an average of 21 miles per gallon.

I rented a Cadillac over Thanksgiving weekend, as it was the only car available on the elite aisle. While the car rental treated it like a Bentley, it didn't quite live up to those expectations. The car looks good and has a nice interior, but that's where the positives end. The unit had 416 miles upon pickup, and I put an additional 2000 miles on it. The fuel mpg was 23 or better, but the engine performance was lacking. The engine and transmission were disconnected, and when forced to work, they were non-responsive at the worst times, which was dangerous. The CUE system was a nightmare, and all the technology in the car was difficult to use. Even the power seats were not user-friendly, as the memory settings required you to hold the button until preferences were restored. For example, if you have a seat exit programmed, it runs, and then you want the seat and everything else to go back to your programmed settings, you have to hold the #1 button for 30 seconds. The interior has nice finishes, but there is no storage or outlets, and the powered dash panel to hide a 90s flip phone with an inaccessible USB jack is not practical. Overall, I had a negative experience with this car.

I upgraded from a 2011 pre-owned Cadillac CTS, which I owned for two years without any issues, to a brand new 2016 luxury Cadillac XTS. However, I have been disappointed with this vehicle so far due to some problems I have encountered. Despite being under warranty, I had to replace the shocks, fix the driver's side door lock, and repair the sunroof which stopped opening. While these issues were resolved, I am considering trading in this vehicle and exploring other options beyond Cadillac.

I rented this vehicle for 12 days in San Diego over the holidays. Although I read the manual twice and called Onstar (who unfortunately couldn't help), I still had trouble figuring out even the most basic commands, such as getting the seat memories to stick or getting the trip meter to appear on the display. It was also frustrating that most of the time when exiting the car, the driver's seat would move back and the outside mirrors would point towards the ground, and they wouldn't return to their previous position when getting back in the car. It's really annoying having to reset these items every time you go somewhere. However, I did find it easy to pair my phone. Additionally, the XTS now has rubberband 19 tires that ride like crap! I could feel every little imperfection on San Diego's crappy side streets. On the plus side, the car's handling was quite good. The XTS is a blast to throw around corners, although I miss the sound of a V8 and the car could definitely use 50 more lbs. feet of torque. Overall, I dropped this car off thinking that Cadillac could improve on the car's controls and ride quality. I do know I could never spend $55K on a car whose controls can't be figured out, with a ride that my Ram 1500 puts to shame!
