2006 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2006-05-06
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- Summary: NEWER MODELS OF VEHICLES SUCH AS THE CADILLAC ESCALADE, CADILLAC STS, BMW, NISSAN AND OTHER VEHICLES INCORPORATE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) TAIL AND BRAKE LIGHTS. IN SOME MODELS, THESE LED LAMPS ARE STROBED OR PULSED AT A RATE TO EFFECT A CHANGE IN BRIGHTNESS BETWEEN TAILLIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT INDICATIONS. THE STROBING EFFECT IS VERY DISTRACTING WHEN FOLLOWING THE VEHICLE ON BUMPY ROADS OR WHEN VISUALLY SCANNING THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. THE STROBING EFFECT MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS BY DRIVERS FOLLOWING SUCH EQUIPPED VEHICLES AND FIXATING ON THE STROBING TAIL LIGHTS. I RECOMMEND THE ESTABLISHMENTS OF FEDERAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCREASING THE STROBING RATE OF SUCH TAIL LIGHTS SUCH THAT THE VISUAL DISTRACTION CAUSED BY THE SLOW STROBE LIGHT EFFECT IS MINIMIZED. IN PARTICULAR, I FIND SUCH LIGHTS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE BEHIND. MY EYES ARE MORE SENSITIVE TO THE STROBING EFFECT THAN OTHERS. I SUSPECT I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS SENSITIVITY. *NM

The 2006 Cadillac Escalade is a great ride! It has an exceptional sound system and lots of bells and whistles. Although it requires premium fuel, the gas mileage isn't that bad. I drove nearly 180 highway miles on a 1/2 tank, mostly at 60 mph.
-
It handles very quickly for a vehicle of its size.

The Cadillac Escalade is a vehicle that truly lives up to the Cadillac reputation. Its sexy styling, with well-contoured curves, is sure to turn heads. The interior of the Escalade is where it really shines, with all the bells and whistles you can imagine. You'll feel like you're in a small jet! While it may take some time to get used to the instrument panel, the trip computer and satellite radio are great features if you're lucky enough to have them. The stereo is built digitally and sounds amazing, as does the 5 CD changer. The most fun feature is the tri-zone climate control, which allows for separate temperature settings for the driver, passenger, and rear passengers, ensuring everyone's comfort. The vehicle handles well, although it may take longer to stop.

I've owned countless cars since I was 16 years old, but at 43, I finally feel like I've landed the vehicle I've been aspiring to all these years. I wish I had known how convenient and road-controlling all-wheel drive is, I would have bought one years ago. Even though I've never had a brand new car, I'm just as satisfied with my 2005 Black Escalade AWD. The only issues I've had are with the cluster board, blanked-out face to radio, front-end suspension, and falsely presented rear climate control. The rear climate control neither gets hot nor cold, it's just designed to circulate air pulled from the front. Poor job, GM! When you spend money like that, you expect maximum comfort. The heated seats don't stay on long, but with our crazy weather in Saint Louis, Missouri, I don't miss a beat. I laugh when it's rainy and everyone else is fish-tailing when the light turns green. Gas is not nearly as bad as most bloggers make it out to be. With the best spark plugs, pure purple synthetic oil, K&N oil and air filter, you can't go wrong. Learn your car! Best regards, MrSupaman Gillespie.
-
Hands down, the best sport-ute out there! The unbeatable power and AWD system have always gotten me where I need to go, even through deep snow. And let's talk about the interior - it's a masterpiece worthy of kings and queens!

The car has experienced several issues, including a ticking engine at startup, loss of audio from the rear warning system, OnStar, phone, cd, radio, and a loud transmission noise at about 1,700 rpm. The power steering also squeals when turning, which is being addressed. Despite some initial difficulty in identifying the root cause of these problems, they are being resolved with confidence and expertise.
Napoleon Wiza 2024-07-26
The vehicle's suspension and handling have been a disappointing experience. Even small potholes can cause the vehicle to veer off the road. At just 23,000 miles, the transmission required a rebuild, and there have been consistent problems requiring multiple trips to the dealer. While the vehicle has impressive power, it is let down by poor handling and suspension. Overall, the vehicle may be overrated.

This truck is beautiful to look at. However, it has had a few annoying problems that shouldn't happen in a vehicle of this caliber. My truck has had blown sensors, problems with the Bose stereo, and the rear DVD system is not properly interfaced with the stereo system, making the radio blast when the DVD is turned off. Unfortunately, Cadillac has not been very responsive in fixing these issues. Additionally, I have had some difficulty getting loaner vehicles when my truck is in for service.
