Initially available as a 4-door sedan on the GM Sigma platform, GM had offered the second generation CTS in three body styles: 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, and 5-door sport wagon also using the Sigma platform — and the third generation was offered only as a sedan, using a stretched version of the GM Alpha platform. High performance sedan variants were offered for each generation, as the CTS-V — with wagon and coupe variants offered for the second generation.
Wayne Cherry and Kip Wasenko designed the exterior of the first generation CTS, marking the production debut of a design language marketed as "Art and Science," first used on the Evoq concept car. John Manoogian III directed the second generation CTS design. Bob Boniface and Robin Krieg designed the exterior of the third generation CTS.
The CTS ended production in 2019 and was replaced by the CT5, which shared its platform with the third and final generation of the CTS in addition to the smaller CT4.

I recently drove a CTS-V with Auto and it was an absolute blast! I've owned several high-end cars in the past, including BMW-M's, Mercedes SL's, and Corvettes, but none of them compare to the excitement of the CTS-V. It truly lives up to the hype and exceeded my expectations. I hope that GM continues to produce these amazing cars so that more people can experience the same level of enjoyment. If you're considering purchasing one, I highly recommend doing so soon before it's too late.

I've owned a few high performance cars: 2 Gallardos, a Nissan GTR, BMW 550i, Lotus Elise, Maserati Gran Sport. Let me tell you, this car is even more fun to drive and has more torque than all of them combined, and it does it all with great style and comfort.

The 6-speed manual with Recaros is now equipped with a Hennessey intake, AR Headers, and tune, resulting in an impressive 615 HP (521 to the rear wheels per dyno). The car is an absolute blast to drive, although traction can be an issue, especially in 104 degree weather. It's important to keep in mind that flooring it in 1st or 2nd gear in any weather will cause the tires to blow out completely. However, 3rd gear hooks up well in 90+ degree weather, and we'll see how it performs on cooler days this fall! The interior is very nice, although there is slightly more interior noise compared to an Audi I previously owned. Despite this, the 14-15 MPG average is not bad at all for a 600HP sedan. The gadgets are also very impressive, especially the 8-inch nav touch screen. Overall, this car is an excellent choice if you enjoy scaring your passengers on the way to lunch!

As a loyal Honda/Acura buyer for the past 20 years, I was a bit hesitant when purchasing this car as I have high expectations for my vehicles. However, after driving it for four months and 4500 miles, I can confidently say that I am not disappointed. This car lives up to all the hype that has been heaped upon it by the auto media. It is incredibly fast, yet quiet inside, and the interior is of the highest quality. Additionally, the car is very stealthy, making it easy to go unnoticed by the police. The torque is exactly where you need it to be, and the buttons are few in number, but large and easy to use. While I didn't purchase the car for its gas mileage, it could certainly benefit from an extra gallon in the tank. In mixed 50-50 city/freeway driving, I get a range of 240 miles, which decreases slightly when driving more aggressively.

This car has set the standard for high performance luxury sedans, regardless of price. It handles better than most sports cars and is very quick and fast. It's also extremely comfortable, especially with the optional Recaro seats. The car is luxurious, solid, refined and loaded with useful technology. Additionally, the exhaust note is aggressive and appropriate for the car's mission.

When this car was designed, the manufacturers had all the right ideas for both performance and appearance. It's a great looking car, but unfortunately, I've had some issues with it. I bought the car new last October and have already put 50,000 km on the odometer. One month ago, they changed the supercharger, and just two weeks ago, they had to order new chims for the differential due to a recall. Today, they informed me that they need to change the transmission. Additionally, they quoted me £700 just for the front brake pads (and that's just for the parts), and £300 for the rear. All in all, given the price, I expected more reliability!
