2022 Mitsubishi Outlander sport problems

The Mitsubishi Outlander (Japanese: 三菱・アウトランダー, Hepburn: Mitsubishi Autorandā) is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors since 2001. It was originally known as the Mitsubishi Airtrek (Japanese: 三菱・エアトレック, Hepburn: Mitsubishi Eatorekku) when it was introduced in Japan.
The original Airtrek name was chosen to "describe the vehicle's ability to transport its passengers on adventure-packed journeys in a 'free-as-a-bird' manner", and was "coined from Air and Trek to express the idea of footloose, adventure-filled motoring pleasure." The Outlander nameplate which replaced it evoked a "feeling of journeying to distant, unexplored lands in search of adventure."
The second generation of the vehicle was introduced in 2006 and all markets including Japan adopted the Outlander name, although production of the older version continued in parallel. It was built on the company's GS platform, and used various engines developed by Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, and PSA Peugeot Citroën. PSA's Citroën C-Crosser and Peugeot 4007, which were manufactured by Mitsubishi in Japan, are badge engineered versions of the second generation Outlander. Global sales achieved the 1.5 million unit milestone in October 2016, 15 years after its market launch.
As part of the third generation line-up, Mitsubishi launched in January 2013 a plug-in hybrid model called Outlander PHEV. As of January 2022, global sales totaled about 300,000 units, and according to JATO Dynamics, the Outlander PHEV is the world's all-time best selling plug-in hybrid since December 2018. As of 2019, Europe is the leading market with over 126,000 units sold through January 2019, and the Outlander plug-in hybrid listed as Europe's best-selling plug-in hybrid car for five years running, 2015 to 2019.
The fourth-generation model was released 2021. Following Mitsubishi's entry to Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, the fourth-generation Outlander is based on the Rogue/X-Trail, which is built on the CMF-CD platform.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-05-28
- VIN: 99999999999
- Components: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: I had an accident on 28th May 2023 at 5:00am in my residential area while driving my personally owned Mitsubishi Outlander Sports 2022 model with only about 6800 miles on it at about 25 miles/hr. speed, due to fatigue after coming from long oversees trip! I had my "Front Collision Mitigation" on! My car's right front hit a black truck on its left rear. My car was badly damaged. (Pictures enclosed). Thanks God, my driver side airbags deployed, and I did not suffer from body injury! My complaint is regarding "Front Collision Mitigation" which was on, but didn't stop my car hitting the truck, otherwise collision might not happened. My concern is as this safety measure didn't work in my case it might not work in another car. My car is not repairable, although it is drivable with intact engine, transmission, and electric system. I have paid the damages to the truck owner. I had only liability insurance so insurance will not pay for my car damages. I have not sold my wrecked car yet. If NHTSA or Mitsubishi motors want to acquire it, they may have it for investigation, research, and improvement. I will appreciate if Mitsubishi motors replaced my car. Thank you!

This has got to be a defect. I have gone to two different places to have it replaced so it cannot be bad workmanship. And twice the crack has appeared overnight another reason I know it's not rocks and I just have really bad luck.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-02-01
- VIN: JA4APUAU7NU

This is a fantastic little SUV that's incredibly stylish and has a ride as smooth as any other SUV I've driven! I have the 2021 Outlander SE and everyone who has seen this stunning red beauty loves the looks of it! I'm not sure why the so-called experts don't approve, but if you ask those who own one what they think, the overwhelming majority will tell you that they are extremely pleased with the Outlander!

The Outlander Sport boasts high-quality parts and assembly finish that can be compared to those of the Toyota Land Cruiser and 4Runner, or Nissan Patrol Armada. What's more, it has the lowest price among all its competitors. The platform is based on a DaimlerMitsubishi design, and the engine is from a DaimlerMitsubishi-Hyundai alliance. The parts are supplied by well-known companies such as Autoliv, Continental-Ate, Bosch, Calsonic Kansei, Sumitomo, Hitachi, and Panasonic, with Mitsubishi computers, radio, and LCD screen. This is an excellent opportunity to get all the top automotive industry brands in one affordable package.

I gave it two stars because it has a nice appearance, but unfortunately lacks power seats and GPS, and the driving experience is not great. Considering the cost, one would expect these features to be included. Additionally, the car has a lot of cheap plastic components. In my opinion, it is not worth the high price tag. I would recommend looking for a better option.

This car is a 2022 model with 4400 miles on it. I purchased it in June or July of this year. Unfortunately, I have experienced some issues with the fob battery, which has had to be changed 3 times. Even after changing one of the batteries, the issue persisted. The car sometimes fails to acknowledge the ignition while I am driving or trying to start the vehicle, which can be frustrating. It has left me stranded outside of my place of employment on some occasions. The cruise control and the steering wheel call function do not work, and the radio/google maps faceplate turns black, turns the volume all the way up, and turns the radio on for 20 to 45 minutes. The volume cannot be turned down, and the radio cannot be turned off. The heated seats stop working after a couple of minutes, which is unfortunate because I use them to help with my back injury. The service guys were unable to identify the problem, and the salesman suggested a 2019 model with 40,000 miles at the same price, which is not ideal. I hope that Mitsubishi can address these issues and improve their customer service. Thank you for your attention to this matter.I recently purchased the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, but unfortunately, I have had some issues with it. The staff at the dealership seemed to be more focused on making a sale rather than providing quality customer service. Despite the warranty, the issues with the vehicle have not been resolved, and the service team was unable to identify the problem. As a result, I would not recommend purchasing this car. It's important to consider all options before making a decision. Thank you for your time.

I rented this vehicle for a 10-day tour of the Southwest, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. Unfortunately, I found that the 2.0L 148HP engine was very sluggish and always in ECO mode, making acceleration difficult. Additionally, the Android Auto connection to my phone was not very reliable and would often disconnect after a couple of hours of driving. Despite these issues, I did appreciate the blind-spot warning system, which worked well. However, the suspension was soft with some body roll, which did not inspire confidence. Overall, while I would not choose to rent or buy this vehicle again, I did find some features to be helpful.

I recently purchased the 2021 Outlander Sport, although it wasn't my first choice, it was the only car I was approved for. While it's a nice SUV, it's not extraordinary. The engine can be a bit noisy and the ride isn't as smooth as I would like. Unfortunately, the base model, which was the only one available at my dealer, lacks some important features that the new 2022 model has, such as lane departure warning, automatic windshield wipers, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, all-wheel drive, and more. For the price of $26,000, it's a bit plain. However, I'm hopeful that I can upgrade to a better model in the future.

Just wanted to share my recent experience with the Outlander Sport. I rented it for a couple of days in Arizona and unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. While the car had some issues with handling and acceleration, it did get me from point A to point B. However, I do think there are better options out there for those in the market for a new car. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts!
