- Summary: Approximately in November 2022, I was driving my 2016 Cadillac CT6. While operating at a normal speed of 40 mph, while in traffic the vehicle began to hesitate and a loss of power. The vehicle was towed to Waldorf Cadillac & Chevrolet. The vehicle was diagnosed with a transfer case issue. The vehicle in the repair shop for approximately 4 months. I retrieve my vehicle in February 2023, with a brand-new Transfer Case with a price tag of $2,200.00. On Thursday, August 3, 2023, I managed to drive the vehicle back to Waldorf Cadillac & Chevrolet to have to vehicle repaired. The vehicle is doing the same thing it was doing , when the vehicle was previously in the Repair Shop. The Technician informed me that Cadillac recommend the fluid in the transmission be changed to a high-performance fluid. This recommendation was issued to the dealers several months ago. Now the dealer is charging me approximately $1,000.00 for Transmission Fluid. I asked the Technician why the problem wasn't corrected while previously in the shop. No reply. If Cadillac knows this is the problem, why is the customer being charged for this service, if this will correct the problem. There is 64,000 miles on my vehicle.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- Consequence: The excessive brightness may affect the vision of other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will install right and left side in-line headlight jumper harnesses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 3, 2021. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N162016079.

The inboard child seat anchorage bars may have had excess structural adhesive applied during assembly, which can interfere with the installation of a child seat. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."
- Consequence: If the child seat cannot be attached correctly to the anchorage bar, there is an increased the risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect, remove any excess adhesive, and apply anti-corrosion primer to the inboard child seat anchorage bars, free of charge. The recall began August 3, 2018. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 18228.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Cadillac CT6 vehicles manufactured July 21, 2016, to July 22, 2016. The bolt that connects the front passenger seat belt webbing to the seat's anchor plate may be missing. Without the bolt, the seat belt webbing may detach from the seat anchor.
- Consequence: If the seat belt webbing detaches from the seat anchor, the seat belt may not properly restrain the front seat passenger in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the existing front passenger seat belt webbing anchor bolt, or install a bolt if it is missing, free of charge. The recall began on September 24, 2016. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 16035. Note: Owners are advised not to allow an occupant to sit in the front passenger seat until the recall remedy has been performed.

The vent ducts in the dash and front seat area are positioned too low, which results in poor air circulation into the upper areas of the front cabin. Additionally, there is no storage area in the dash, only a small console. The cup holders in the front console are poorly positioned and too small to hold a coffee mug. However, the car has beautiful exterior styling, with our Passion Red and silver metallic body pin stripe turning heads and receiving many compliments. It is also the quietest car we have ever driven, with very smooth handling. The lane control safety feature works really well. This car replaced our 2008 CTS, which we also liked.

After reading one review, it seems that some people may not be fully informed. The CTS was first introduced in 2002 as a 2003 model. While it was a nice car, it has improved with each generation. The new CT6 is a great car, especially for the price. I have driven the Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, and others, and while some may offer a slightly smoother ride, I cannot see a huge difference. The quality, materials, and overall build of the CT6 are very nice.

This car has a control panel that I find difficult to use. I have had it for two years and have turned most of the technology off since it was not to my liking. The turbo can be sluggish on the start and I have experienced some transmission issues. Overall, I have had a negative experience with this Cadillac and would not choose to drive one again.

I really enjoy many aspects of my CT6, but unfortunately, the whining noise coming from the steering column is a bit of a bother. It seems that the base model steering column is the culprit, and it's a shame that I wasn't aware of this before leasing the car. If I had known, I would have opted for a higher model level with a quieter steering column. Despite my disappointment, I have been informed by Cadillac, GM, and the dealer that the columns cannot be swapped out. Overall, it's a shame that such a well-designed car has this issue, but I'm still happy with many other aspects of the vehicle.
