buick logo

The Buick Roadmaster is an automobile built by Buick from 1936 until 1942, from 1946 until 1958, and then again from 1991 until 1996. Roadmasters produced between 1936 and 1958 were built on Buick's longest non-limousine wheelbase and shared their basic structure with the entry-level Cadillac Series 65, the Buick Limited, and after 1940, the Oldsmobile 98. Between 1946 and 1957, the Roadmaster served as Buick's flagship.

It became the marque's largest vehicle when it was resurrected for the 1991 through 1996 model years. The Roadmaster sedan, a C-body vehicle over its eight previous generations, shared the B-body for the first time in its history. It was 10 in (254 mm) longer with a 5 in (127 mm) greater wheelbase than the C-body Buick Park Avenue. It was also larger both in wheelbase (2 in (51 mm)) and overall length (6 in (152 mm)) than the K-body Cadillac DeVille.

A Buick Roadmaster Estate station wagon was introduced in 1947 and was manufactured in several generations through 1996.

Negative 1993 Buick Roadmaster car reviews

  1. Olin Jones 2024-05-17

This car was actually an inheritance, but unfortunately it was left to rot in the Florida sun. The damage was hidden by the dealer who sold it to the heir. It's a shame that someone would treat their grandfather's last car like that. In the future, I will definitely have a car inspected by someone local to the seller before making a purchase.

Positive 1993 Buick Roadmaster car reviews

  1. Otis Watsica 2025-01-08

It's hilarious that one reviewer mentioned that driving a Roadmaster is like driving from your living room couch. I couldn't agree more! My '93 Roadmaster provides a smooth and comfortable ride, and it pours on the power when I step on it. It also requires little maintenance, thanks in part to my 'Master Mechanic' Al. I recently replaced the original shocks, and the difference is amazing! On a slight incline, I hit the gas and the front end rose up while the rear end hunkered down. And the sound of that V8 is just awesome!! However, I had some trouble finding P225/70R15 passenger tires for it. After 20 hours of searching online, I finally found General Tire Altimax RT (made by Continental) at my local GM/Buick/Cadillac dealership. I can't wait to feel the ride after installation!

  2. Casimer Herzog 2024-11-09

Love the car! It's such a throwback to the big cars of the 60's & 70's. Although the gas mileage isn't great, the ride more than makes up for it. It's like gliding down the road.

  3. Corbin Heller 2024-11-02

It's great to hear that you loved your car and were able to sell it with an impressive 220,000 miles on it! It sounds like it was a reliable workhorse that could handle anything you threw at it or in it. Although rust was a bit of a problem, it's wonderful that you were able to keep it running smoothly with new transmission, fuel pump, radiator, exhaust, a/c compressor, and shocks. You also took great care of it with regular maintenance such as brake and tire changes, and even used Mobil 1 oil. It's impressive that you were able to get 19 to 20 MPG on a trip, 17 to 18 around town, and 10 to 13 while pulling 2 horses. Even in the winter, you were still able to get 14 to 16 MPG around town. Well done!

  4. Deion Senger 2024-08-20

This has been an amazing automobile for your family. Purchased used in 1996, it served as the 'Mother Wagon', a cross between the mother of all wagons and mom's daily duty hauler.

  5. Graham Stokes 2024-08-13

I was lucky enough to receive this wagon from a friend at our head office. It's currently located in Skellefteå, up north in Sweden. My girlfriend and I had a lovely drive from Skellefteå to Piteå, which is about 100 km north of Skellefteå, on a beautiful late summer day. A few days later, we embarked on a trip to Stockholm, which was about 1000 km away. Although we encountered a small leak from the heater and some shaking from the front brakes, the fuel consumption was very reasonable at 11.6 liters per 100 kilometers for this full-size wagon. In city traffic, it tends to consume more fuel, around 12.5 to 16.0 liters per 100 km, but with some tuning and a light foot on the gas pedal, it can be lowered. Overall, it was a great experience and we're grateful for the opportunity to have this wagon.
