Buick Roadmaster problems
The Buick Roadmaster is an automobile built by Buick from 1936 until 1942, from 1946 until 1958, and then again from 1991 until 1996. Roadmasters produced between 1936 and 1958 were built on Buick's longest non-limousine wheelbase and shared their basic structure with the entry-level Cadillac Series 65, the Buick Limited, and after 1940, the Oldsmobile 98. Between 1946 and 1957, the Roadmaster served as Buick's flagship.
It became the marque's largest vehicle when it was resurrected for the 1991 through 1996 model years. The Roadmaster sedan, a C-body vehicle over its eight previous generations, shared the B-body for the first time in its history. It was 10 in (254 mm) longer with a 5 in (127 mm) greater wheelbase than the C-body Buick Park Avenue. It was also larger both in wheelbase (2 in (51 mm)) and overall length (6 in (152 mm)) than the K-body Cadillac DeVille.
A Buick Roadmaster Estate station wagon was introduced in 1947 and was manufactured in several generations through 1996.

What year was the best Buick Roadmaster?
The 260-horsepower LT1 offered in the 1994-1996 model years offer the most coveted powerplant. Yep, that's the Buick wagon with the “Corvette motor,” albeit detuned to produce less horsepower with iron heads and a two-bolt main.
What kind of engine is in a Buick Roadmaster?
Under the hood of all Roadmasters was a V8; this late-year example hosts a 5.7-liter sequential-point fuel-injection LT1 — the same motor then used in the Corvette — detuned to a still-plenty-sufficient 260 horsepower and a very respectable 330 lb-ft of torque.
What was the last year Buick made Roadmaster?
The Buick Roadmaster is an automobile built by Buick from 1936 until 1942, from 1946 until 1958, and then again from 1991 until 1996.
What car replaced the Buick Roadmaster?
From 1959 to its revival in 1990, the Roadmaster was replaced by the Electra. However, the company's range-topping station wagon, called the Estate, was based on various nameplates during that time.

Love the car! It's such a throwback to the big cars of the 60's & 70's. Although the gas mileage isn't great, the ride more than makes up for it. It's like gliding down the road.

Outstanding performance and gas mileage! The ride is very smooth, although the handling is a little soft. The LT1 V8 is amazing, and the stereo is excellent (even better with an aftermarket radio). You get tons of performance for the money!

It's great to hear that you loved your car and were able to sell it with an impressive 220,000 miles on it! It sounds like it was a reliable workhorse that could handle anything you threw at it or in it. Although rust was a bit of a problem, it's wonderful that you were able to keep it running smoothly with new transmission, fuel pump, radiator, exhaust, a/c compressor, and shocks. You also took great care of it with regular maintenance such as brake and tire changes, and even used Mobil 1 oil. It's impressive that you were able to get 19 to 20 MPG on a trip, 17 to 18 around town, and 10 to 13 while pulling 2 horses. Even in the winter, you were still able to get 14 to 16 MPG around town. Well done!

This vehicle has had some issues since I purchased it, but I have taken care of all necessary repairs. Despite some challenges, I have driven it for 30,000 miles over the past 4 years. While I have had to replace certain parts, such as the starter and water pump, I have taken care of these issues promptly and efficiently. I have also addressed problems with the suspension and electrical system. Overall, I have been able to maintain the vehicle and keep it in good condition.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my car. Unfortunately, as I was backing out of my driveway, the throttle suddenly raced to full and I couldn't stop the car. It ended up crashing into my house, causing some damage and even injuring me. It was definitely a scary situation, but I'm grateful that I was alone and that it wasn't any worse. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? For context, my car is a '94 wagon with 100k miles on it and is in great shape overall. Take care!

This car is a grocery getting rocket with power to spare. Unfortunately, it was designed with a limited amount of space. If you're over 6 feet tall, you may find it uncomfortable to sit in the front passenger seat. However, the rear seat is more accommodating. It's a shame that GM didn't consider the needs of taller drivers and passengers.

This car was actually an inheritance, but unfortunately it was left to rot in the Florida sun. The damage was hidden by the dealer who sold it to the heir. It's a shame that someone would treat their grandfather's last car like that. In the future, I will definitely have a car inspected by someone local to the seller before making a purchase.
