2011 Buick Lacrosse problems

The Buick LaCrosse is a four-door, front-wheel-drive sedan manufactured by Buick since model year 2005, and marketed variously across four generations for the North American and Chinese markets.
The first-generation LaCrosse replaced the Century and Regal in North America beginning for model year 2005 as a five- or six-passenger, four-door, front-wheel-drive, V6-powered sedan using GM's mid-size W platform—and marketed in Canada as the Buick Allure. Notably, the first generation was also offered with a V8 engine, as a high-performance sub-model marketed as the LaCrosse Super (2008–2009). LaCrosse production and marketing began for China with model year 2006.
The second-generation LaCrosse was introduced for 2010 as a larger premium sedan for North American and Chinese markets using a long-wheelbase (LWB) variant of the Epsilon II platform shared with the Cadillac XTS—and available solely as a five-passenger sedan with a range of four- and six-cylinder engines.
The third generation was introduced for North America and China for model year 2017 using the GM Epsilon platform shared with the Chevrolet Impala, notably offering a mild hybrid powertrain combining 20-kilowatt (27 hp) electric and 2.5-liter Ecotec gasoline engine. North American production ended with the third generation, with model year 2019; however, it continued to be offered in China, with a 2019 facelift.
The fourth-generation LaCrosse, launched in 2023, is currently manufactured and marketed solely in China. It is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Luckily I was able to make it over 2 lanes and stop in the grass on the side of the road. I had the car towed to my mechanic and he had to replace the whole brake assembly. I have the broken parts and they are available for inspection. There were no warning lights

UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-12-25
- VIN: 1G4GC5ED2BF
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: The brakes are getting stuck on while I am driving. The most recent occurrence happened while I was on the highway. The car would not accelerate, the whole system was shaking, there was no safe space for me to pull over. This vehicle has a recall for this exact problem but from what the dealer is saying, not my VIN. I find it hard to believe that this has occurred and it is unrelated to a previous recall for faulty brakes on 2011 Buick LaCrosse. Since this incident, the abs light has been on and another dash light has been on. My mechanic believes the brakes getting too hot may have lead to further damage to the abs sensor.
POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-04-17
- VIN: 1G4GD5ED2BF
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: The component is the brakes and the brake pedal while not engaging the brakes they remained on even after the vehicle was shut off .the vehicle brake lights remained on this was not duplicated when I took the car in by the dealer of how the brake remains engaged we even when not being used I would have to release the break by pulling it up with my foot while driving . This was duplicated and witnessed by two others the dealership where I bought the car and a trusted mechanic. which no avai there was no warning light indicating any type of concern prior to it doing this. the brake pedal being slightly stuck my transmission shifts not properly and hot feeling to the car now I have a warning saying that AC will not work due to the overheating of my engine which I believe to have repaired however the repair that was believed to be the problem obviously wasn't the problem because the light still remains on and the fan runs continuously the minute I start the car to the time I shut the car off I live in North Dakota and it is -1 today and the fan continues to run at all times and the warning light is on cooling fan the car lunges at times which is easy to lose control over when it does this it lunges to the point where it physically noticeable and and no warnings of this that a compensation is going to need to be made in my driving with this lunge issue. I do feel this break issue has affected many other parts of the vehicle and the safety associated with these components. Also at times the driver's seat will not move it goes up to the dash or back to the back seat leaving me in a position where I cannot drive the vehicle safely at all. Also the cruise control would not engage because of the brakes being slightly engaged. Took her to the dealership discussed this problem with them and they could not duplicate and it's been going on since I purchased the car It had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it and it continues to do this and I think it's a safety issue

2011 Buick Lacrosse recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2011 Buick Lacrosse.
- Manufacturer: General Motors, LLC
- Components: SUSPENSION:REAR
- Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2010-2013 Buick Lacrosse, 2012-2013 Buick Regal, and 2013 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles sold or ever registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. These vehicles may have rear toe links that received an improper amount of electrocoating (e-coat) corrosion protection, which could cause the e-coat to become brittle and break away when contacted by road debris. Over time, the e-coat may chip away, exposing the metal toe link and making it more susceptible to corrosion. Corrosion may eventually cause the toe link to thin and ultimately fracture.
- Consequence: A rear toe link fracture may reduce the driver's ability to control the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear suspension toe links and adjuster fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 27, 2022. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212346640. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recalls 20V-764 and 21V-633.

I'm so glad I got this car! I have the CXS with all the features and it's been a great experience. Let me break it down for you: Firstly, it has a 12 volt plug which is perfect for charging laptops and other electronics that don't have USB support. There are lighter plugs both in the front and rear, and a separate USB plug in the front, which is super convenient. Secondly, the ride is incredibly quiet and smooth. The car cruises at 2000 rpm at 75mph and has thicker glass in the side windows which really makes a difference. Thirdly, the ergonomics are spot on. The GPS, radio, switches, and everything else is within reach, and I especially love the heads up display. Fourthly, there are so many other cool features like the rear window shade, heated steering wheel, car key sensor with remote start, and rear view camera. Lastly, this is a pretty big car with lots of room, which is great. The only downsides are that it's a bit sluggish (not terrible, but the horsepower doesn't really kick in until after 4500 rpm - a turbo on this thing would be amazing) and the gas mileage could be better (I'm averaging about 19.6 mpg with a mix of city and highway travel). Overall, it's a fantastic car that really compares (outside of acceleration) with Euro counterparts. It's comfy, has lots of toys, a smooth ride, and takes regular gas (which is a great cost savings). Plus, it's a good looking car with a nice shape and look to it.

Before my Lacrosse, I owned a Cadillac DHS. I bought this car because I felt that if Cadillac was shrinking the size of their vehicles and adding more plastics, then I would get more bang for my buck with Buick. I was right. I absolutely love this car. When on the highway in Sport mode, this car will be over 100 in the blink of an eye.

I was searching for an entry-level luxury car and had my eye on several models, including Lexus, Chrysler 300, Acura, KIA, and more. However, after reading countless reviews, I decided to take a chance on the 2011 CXL. From the moment I sat in the driver's seat to the second I turned off the ignition, I knew that this car was everything Buick promised in terms of refinement. As an electrical engineer, I tend to be very analytical and appreciate good engineering, and this car is truly an engineering marvel. The exterior design is superb, the interior is luxurious and spacious, the V-6 engine is incredibly powerful, and the sound system is top-notch. I have absolutely no complaints!

This is a high quality road dominator, built to suit the ultimate speedsters. Buy it now!

I'm so excited to share my experience with this car! After researching for over 2 months, I finally made my purchase and I couldn't be happier. The interior design is absolutely amazing. While some reviews mention that the dash is cluttered with buttons, I personally have no trouble finding what I need (most of the time it's on the steering wheel if you need to adjust something while driving). The exterior design is also great, with beautiful lines. The trunk line is a little high, which can make visibility a minor issue, but thanks to the reverse sensing system, it's not a big deal. The A pillars are a little thick, but it's not too bad. The ride is very quiet and smooth, yet still responsive in its handling.

This is my second Lacrosse. I had a 2007 prior to this one. It's a great car for short trips, but not ideal for long trips with lots of luggage due to the incredibly small trunk. However, the roomy interior and comfortable seating make up for this shortcoming. The steering wheel may turn when riding over bumps, so be sure to hold on to it. The dash is well laid out and the accent lighting is very attractive. The sunroof slides back evenly with the roof, unlike my 2007 which tilted up on an angle and was noisy. The gas mileage is average and the ride can be a little noisy depending on the surface you are driving on. The ride is no longer as cushy as my 2007 Lacrosse, but it's still comfortable. I bought it because it looks great, the price was right, it holds its value longer, the engine is better than the 2007 Lacrosse, and it just feels like a very solid, well-built car.

The 2011 LaCrosse CXS in black with black 19-inch wheels, navigation, and a sunroof is a very attractive car with great power. However, the trunk is quite small and can only fit one set of clubs. It may take a few weeks of ownership to get used to the interior ergonomics, as the dash curves outward at the door and the foot well is tight for larger feet. Additionally, the center armrest is too high and far back, which can make long trips uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there is not much storage space inside. I purchased this car new in July 2010, and had to replace the steering column in November of the same year. Last Monday, the steering gear was replaced at only 17,500 miles! This was the final straw for me, and I traded it in on Thursday, even though I lost money on the deal. I have children to think about, and I need to be able to steer safely.

My husband and I were impressed with the style of both the Buick LaCrosse and Buick Regal. As with most Buicks, the ride was smooth and enjoyable. However, we did find that getting in and out of the car was a bit of a challenge and could even be painful at times. The wide plastic side of the seats, which contains the seat controls, can jab you in the leg or buttock. Unfortunately, there is no cushioning over the plastic, which is not typical of Buicks of the past. If you're expecting the old comfortable feel that we used to have in Buick seating, you may be disappointed with these cars.

As an experienced Acura TL owner, I was disappointed with the vehicle's performance. The ride was uncomfortable due to excessive road noise and rough handling. The plastic material used in both the interior and exterior of the car looked cheap. Additionally, the limited storage space and blind spots made parking difficult, even with the backup warning device. Overall, this purchase did not meet my expectations.
