2001 Cadillac Seville problems
The Cadillac Seville is a mid-size luxury car manufactured by Cadillac from the 1976 to 2004 model years as a smaller-sized, premium model. It was replaced by the STS in 2004 for the 2005 model year.
Origin of the name
The name of "Cadillac's first small car" was selected over a revival of LaSalle or the GM design staff's preference, LaScala, primarily because, as noted by GM Marketing Director Gordon Horsburgh, "It had no negatives." The initial suggestion was "Leland" in honor of one of the make's founders but it was rejected because most buyers wouldn't understand the reference and Henry Leland had also founded rival Lincoln.
Hundreds of suggestions were considered: after extensive research, LaSalle was the top pick with St. Moritz a distant second, trailed further by Seville. A troubled past (LaSalle) and difficult pronunciation (St. Moritz) led to the eventual selection of the Seville nameplate.
Seville is the name of a Spanish province and its capital, renowned for its history and treasures of art and architecture. Cadillac had first used the nameplate for a two-door hardtop version of the 1956 Eldorado. 1960 was the last model year for the Eldorado Seville, returning in 1967 under a different name.

Webasto Hollandia 700 series sunroof, Serial Number 0524386. A recall was already done for this defective product but Webasto will not fix this one because they claim this sunroof is a "different series" than what is covered by the recall, which is supposed to start with 06. I think this is just an excuse to get out of fixing the vehicle. The vehicle has no interior roof other than the small fabric slider that was there to protect the glass. The contact stated that Webasto finally agreed to send a replacement but the cost of the repair was not covered.

WHENEVER I RE-INSTALL THIS MICRO RELAY THE FUEL SYS WILL NOT BUILD-UP THE REQUIRED PSI, IT JUST STAYS AT 0 PSI, AND OF COURSE IT WILL NOT START. I JUST REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT ASSY PLUS FUEL FILTER TODAY. THE OTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 25 SOUTHBOUND AND DOING 75 MPH AND THE ENGINE JUST DIED, QUIT RUNNING AND WOULD NOT RE-START. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED HOME, THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO TROUBLESHOOT MY CADILLAC AND THE VEHICLE STARTED RIGHT UP WITH THE IGN 1 RELAY REMOVED. AS I MENTIONED EARLIER I ALREADY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ASSY THINKING IT WOULD FIX PROBLEM AND IT DID NOT! TODAY WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH THE ENGINE SUDDENLY QUIT RUNNING AGAIN AND I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE FRONT END AND THE CAR SHOOK ALSO. I HAD TO FIND SOME SHOULDER ROOM, PULLED OVER, REMOVED IGN1 RELAY AGAIN AND THE CAR RE-STARTED NO PROBLEM AND I CONTINUED ON DRIVING TO WORK. *TR

The car experienced some technical issues, which were promptly resolved by the Caddy dealer. The battery was replaced due to a broken terminal, and the car was traded in to the dealer a year later. The dealer provided excellent service throughout the process.

Hi there! I just had to share my love for this amazing red SLS with a landau roof that I saw on the showroom floor. Even after 125K miles, people still ask me if I'm willing to sell it! It's been such a great car, with a powerful get up and go and a luxurious ride. The only issue we're currently facing is a bad computer system, which can be quite expensive to repair. But we make sure to have it serviced often to keep all systems in check. Overall, I'm just so happy with this car!

I think this is an excellent car, but I find some of the features hard to learn.

This car has a unique exterior design that combines the best of European and Japanese styles, while the interior offers the luxury and comfort of an American car. It's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a car that you'll enjoy driving. I always look for reasons to take it out for a spin.

My '01 is a really great car! However, as the other reviews have stated, I have had my share of warranty work, transmission mounts, seat heaters, and those awful Goodyear tires (I traded mine in at 18K miles for Michelins). I just passed 50K and I'm glad I bought an extended warranty. I love the awesome Northstar power, the ride, and the style. I believe the new rear-wheel drive debuting next year will be a world-class vehicle.

The car's acceleration may feel slow and heavy, and the front wheel drive with 300 horsepower can cause the traction control to come on frequently in slick conditions. However, replacing the factory Goodyears with Michelins can improve the situation. Although there are some minor issues that need fixing, it's fortunate that the car is still under warranty. On the bright side, the interior is comfortable and the sound system is of good quality, with plenty of standard features. While it may not be the ideal car for driving enthusiasts, it's definitely a comfortable ride. If you prioritize comfort over performance, it's worth considering a purchase. Additionally, buying a car that's a year or two old can help you avoid the huge first year depreciation hit.

The car was okay for the first 25000 miles, but unfortunately we've had to take it to the shop 11 times since then.
