- Summary: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2021 Audi A8, RS7, RS6 Avant, RS5 Sportback, RS5 Coupe, Q8, Q7, Q5 Sportback, S4 Sedan, Q5, A7, A6, A6 Allroad, A5 Sportback, A5 Coupe, A5 Cabrioleet, A4 Sedan, A4 Allroad, E-Tron Sportback Quattro, SQ7, S5 Cabriolet, E-Tron Quattro, SQ8, SQ5 Sportback, SQ5, S8, S7, S6 Sedan, S5 Sportback, S5 Coupe, 2022 E-Tron GT, and 2021-2022 RSQ8 vehicles. Due to a software issue, a blank or black screen may be displayed instead of the rearview camera image when the vehicle is placed in reverse gear. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Consequence: A blank rearview camera display can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

While some may say the steering could use a bit more feedback, this car is not meant for flinging around and having extra fun. It's the perfect Swiss Army Knife of automobiles. The RS5 Sportback is an impressive car, especially when compared to the M4. I believe that the acceleration times are even better than what is quoted, making it a lower-middle 3 second 0-60 car and an upper-middle 11 sec 1/4 mile car without any tuning, especially if you use the quasi-launch feature. The interior is luxurious and filled with high-end materials. Although an older version of the MMI is used, it is still responsive, easy to navigate, and better than most other systems on the road today. Personally, I prefer the dial/touchpad over the forthcoming touchscreen. The best part about this car is that it can become a C63 or an M4 instantly with the touch of a button, making it a thrill to drive around the track. It has lots of grip (be sure to get the Continental Sport Contact 6 tires and 20' wheels), is quick to change direction, and has instant acceleration (in Dynamic Mode). Surprisingly, there is very low cabin noise for a sports sedan. The Bang and Olufsen Audio system is crisp, but could use a little more bass. The radar sensors can be a bit sensitive, but they can be adjusted for the audio warning. The refreshed 2021 model is all cosmetic and has the latest MMI, but you would be giving up the loved touchpad. The only thing that could be improved is the position of the cupholders, as taller cups cannot fit underneath the control panel.

I’ve been driving BMWs for 15 years and this was my first Audi! It has surpassed ALL expectation! The seats are extremely comfortable. The drive modes provide a wide range of comfort and performance. If you prefer a Lexus type ride, the comfort mode provides that while performance and handling under dynamic makes you feel like you’re on the autobahn! I only wish I had bought one years ago!

I've been driving this car for a year now and I want to give you an honest review based on my real-world experience. Unlike the reviews you'll find in car magazines, I won't sugarcoat anything. Here are the pros: the car is incredibly fast and the all-wheel drive is amazing. It's also surprisingly comfortable, except when you're in dynamic mode. The interior is top-notch and the infotainment system is great. The car is also pretty fuel-efficient when you're not racing it. I can get up to 30mpg on the highway when I'm cruising at around 70mph. The exhaust sound is not too loud, which is a plus. The brakes are also very reliable. However, there are some cons: the dynamic mode can be a bit rough on the roads in St Louis, and the transmission can be a little slow to downshift even in dynamic mode. Also, there are no aftermarket performance parts available in the US yet. As for the complaints I've seen in other reviews, I don't think it's fair to compare this car to the M4 and C63, which are both RWD. The RS5 is safer and more reliable on any street in America, and it can easily beat those cars in a launch with its AWD. Plus, Audi buyers don't need to be flashy and loud all the time. This car is perfect for those who want to fly under the radar while still having a powerful and reliable car. Overall, I highly recommend the RS5.Like every BMW driver. Finally, if you're looking for a sports coupe that's fast, solid, and safe, without being too flashy, the RS5 is the perfect car for you. However, if you're looking for a car to take to the race track, the M4 might be a better fit. On the other hand, if you're looking for a car with an awesome exhaust note and don't mind buying new tires every month from your daily burnouts, the C63 might be the car for you.

My 2018 RS5 has been in the shop frequently due to turbo waste gate issues. Despite Audi's claim that there is no fix yet, I am confident that the issue will be resolved soon.
