Common 2021 Audi Rs5 problems

The Audi RS5 2021 is a high-performance vehicle that has garnered praise for its speed, handling, and stylish design. However, like any vehicle, it is not immune to certain issues that may arise during ownership. Here are some of the common problems reported by owners of the Audi RS5 2021, based on the search results:

  • Spark plug and ignition coil failure: The V6 engine in the newer RS5 models may suffer from spark plug and ignition coil failure, particularly in higher model examples. This issue can result in misfires, reduced performance, and decreased fuel efficiency.
  • Transmission issues: Both the V8 and V6 engines in the RS5 have been reported to have transmission problems, including thermostat failure and solenoid failure. These issues can lead to poor shifting, slipping, and even complete transmission failure in some cases.
  • Infotainment system issues: Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system, including problems with the audio, GPS, and phone systems. These issues can be intermittent and difficult to diagnose, often requiring multiple visits to the dealership for resolution.
  • Seatbelt microphone interference: Another common issue reported by owners is interference with the seatbelt microphone for the telephone system. This problem can occur when the seatbelt is buckled, causing the microphone to cut out or produce poor audio quality.
  • Inaccurate GPS mapping: Some owners have reported inaccuracies in the GPS mapping system, including issues with displaying the actual location of the vehicle. This problem can be frustrating, particularly when trying to navigate unfamiliar areas.
  • Idle quality and transmission jerkiness: Some owners have reported issues with idle quality and transmission jerkiness, particularly in sport modes. These issues can be intermittent and difficult to diagnose, often requiring multiple visits to the dealership for resolution.

It is important to note that not all RS5 owners will experience these issues, and many may never encounter any problems during their ownership. However, it is always a good idea to be aware of potential issues and to address them promptly if they do arise. Regular maintenance and inspections can help identify and prevent many of these issues before they become major problems.

Positive 2021 Audi Rs5 car reviews

  1. Morgan Daugherty 2024-10-27

I wrote this review because there aren't many real owner reviews of the RS5 on the internet. Every review I read is from a car journalist's perspective and is like a copy and paste from previous motoring journals. The reviews on here are the best ones because we own them and don't necessarily drive Porsches, Lambos, and Ferraris on the racetrack most days. Well, at least I don't. So here's my amateur opinion... I'm a 48-year-old bloke and have owned my 2017 RS5 for only a week, and I absolutely love it. I took delivery of my Nardo Grey RS5 coupe after almost buying the last generation M4 Competition. I feel like I've definitely made the right choice. Mine comes with £10k of options, including the sports exhaust, black pack, 20-inch alloys, and lots of other fancy tech things. This car looks stunning, and you don't see many on the road, which I like. Mine has only done 24k miles, and although it's a few years old, it's immaculate. I've always driven sporty cars, and I still have my V8 2008 M3 coupe, which I've owned for the last 10 years. The overall performance of the RS5 is explosive compared to the older M3. It makes the Beemer feel like a dinosaur. When I first jumped in the Audi, put it in dynamic mode, and planted the gas, I said out loud... Fkin hell! Everyone I've taken for a spin has a massive grin. This car is so fast. Forget silly reviews saying it's not as much fun or connected as the M4 blah blah. Do we ever drive these things in the real world on a racetrack? I live in a rural area, and on my back roads, I really don't need the back end sliding out when a tractor is coming the other way. In northern England, the roads are damp half the time, and a rear-wheel-drive M3/M4 or any fast rear-wheel-drive car cannot be pushed hard in the wet, but the RS5 can. The Audi is planted, point and go, and easy to drive fast in any road conditions. I love the sound of this Audi in dynamic mode and the burble it makes.Your M3 has a sports exhaust and the V8 does sound better, but the torque on the M3 is not great, it doesn't come alive unless you wind it up. The newer last gen M4 has similar power to the RS but a tail happy rear end and can be unsafe in the wet. The RS can handle fast speeds and any road condition with relative safety. The handling of the RS5 is superb, it can really fly around the twisty stuff. There is a split second delay when you hit the gas and then it takes off... And keeps going. Hit the brakes and it comes to a halt in no time. Journalists say it's a grand tourer, but I think it's a fantastic rocket. It feels light and nimble. The exterior of this RS5 is amazing and the interior and level of equipment is of high quality. Audi knows how to make a beautiful car.

  2. Soledad Leuschke 2024-10-26

I've been driving this car for over a year now and I absolutely love it! The ride is smooth, the performance is stellar, and the fit and finish are top-notch. Plus, it's a real head-turner! With its AWD, four doors, and hatchback, this car is the perfect daily driver for any car enthusiast. The only downside is that the gas tank could be a bit bigger, as I find myself stopping for gas more often than I'd like. On average, I get around 300 miles per tank. If you're used to driving coupes or sedans with a higher ride height, it might take some getting used to the lower ride height and feel of the RS5. But once you do, you'll find that it's a step above the traditional auto driving experience.

  3. Jaren Blick 2024-09-08

Simply the best vehicle I have owned! It strikes the perfect balance between elegance and sport. The technology and engineering are quite amazing too.

  4. Jaleel Bayer 2024-09-04

I suggest communicating online with the dealership before going in, and even if you are knowledgeable about the car, it's important to have a fixed price in mind. Additionally, make sure to carefully read and understand the fine print of any vehicle extended car care plans before signing any paperwork. It can be helpful to read forums from previous or current owners to gain insight into the car's reliability. Remember, it's easy to get swayed, so if you go to look at a car, make sure that's all you do before leaving.

  5. Darian Baumbach 2024-08-03

Great vehicle! It's loaded with features and drives great. I love how Audi makes their touch screen so intuitive, and there's so much tech to explore!
