Common 2019 Audi Rs5 problems

The 2019 Audi RS5 has been praised for its powerful and brilliant twin-turbo 2.9L engine, as well as its ability to deliver speed and performance. However, there have been some reported issues with the car that owners have experienced.

One common issue reported by owners is valvetrain failures. This issue is serious enough that it is recommended to have a warranty, particularly an extended warranty, to cover any potential repairs. This is a significant concern for those considering the RS5 as a long-term reliable vehicle.

Another issue that has been reported is suspension and TCM module issues. These problems have been severe enough that some owners have considered switching to other vehicles, such as the Lexus IS500, due to the RS5's inability to provide a comfortable and reliable driving experience.

The RS5's build quality has also been a point of contention for some owners. While the overall build quality is solid, there have been reports of squeaking driver doors and sunroof issues. These problems can be particularly frustrating for owners who expect a premium driving experience

The ride quality of the RS5 has also been criticized. Despite the adjustable ride settings, the RS5's ride is consistently harsh, even in the comfort setting. This can make the car feel like a work truck, which is not what most owners expect from a luxury sports sedan.

In summary, while the 2019 Audi RS5 is a powerful and capable vehicle, there have been reported issues with valvetrain failures, suspension and TCM module problems, build quality, and ride quality. These issues are significant enough that potential buyers should carefully consider whether the RS5 is the right vehicle for them, particularly in terms of long-term reliability and comfort.

My 2018 RS5 has been in the shop frequently due to turbo waste gate issues. Despite Audi's claim that there is no fix yet, I am confident that the issue will be resolved soon. Currently, the car is in the shop for a temperature sensor replacement, which I trust will be completed promptly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Positive 2019 Audi Rs5 car reviews

  1. Peyton Greenfelder 2025-05-18

I upgraded from my 2017 S6 to the RS5 Sportback for a more thrilling driving experience. While the S6 was a great car, it was too large and cumbersome for my taste. The RS5, on the other hand, is the perfect size, boasts a stunning appearance, and delivers exceptional performance and handling. Unlike its competitors, such as the M4, C63, and Giulia Quadrifolglio, the RS5's AWD system makes it a practical year-round daily driver in the Northeast. Additionally, the hatchback design makes it easy to load and unload large items, and the ride comfort is significantly better than its rivals. I opted for the base 19The Audi RS5 is an exceptional vehicle that competes well in its segment. While some competitors may have slightly better track times and acceleration numbers, the RS5 is right there with them in the real world. Even on wet or slippery roads, the RS5 performs exceptionally well. The interior quality and design are excellent, as expected from Audi. The fit and finish are perfect, and the material quality is outstanding. The seats are comfortable all day, and the massage feature, while using deflating/inflating air bladders instead of actual motors like the A8, is still a nice touch. The virtual cockpit is cool, and the infotainment/nav screen is functional. While the moon roof is a standard feature, it would be great if it were optional. The RS5 lacks storage compartments, but this is a minor issue. Overall, the RS5 is the best vehicle in its segment, and I would highly recommend it.In summary, the RS5 is the only choice if you are looking for a practical everyday performance sedan/hatchback that delivers the goods without beating you up.

I’ve been driving BMWs for 15 years and this was my first Audi! It has surpassed ALL expectation! The seats are extremely comfortable. The drive modes provide a wide range of comfort and performance. If you prefer a Lexus type ride, the comfort mode provides that while performance and handling under dynamic makes you feel like you’re on the autobahn! I only wish I had bought one years ago!

Beautiful engine. Beautiful acceleration. The interior and exterior are very sexy.

I suggest communicating online with the dealership before going in, and even if you are knowledgeable about the car, it's important to have a fixed price in mind. Additionally, make sure to carefully read and understand the fine print of any vehicle extended car care plans before signing any paperwork. It can be helpful to read forums from previous or current owners to gain insight into the car's reliability. Remember, it's easy to get swayed, so if you go to look at a car, make sure that's all you do before leaving.

Simply the best vehicle I have owned! It strikes the perfect balance between elegance and sport. The technology and engineering are quite amazing too.
