When using the industrial 220V/240V plug at the 100% charge setting, some home power outlets may be incapable of handling the electrical current required to utilize the compact charging system, causing the outlet or charging cable to overheat.
- Consequence: An overheated outlet or charging cable can increase the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Owners are advised not to use the 220V/240V compact/portable charging cable and only use the 110V home charging cable or public charging stations. I've had my Q5 for 5 weeks now and unfortunately, I started experiencing some issues with it. I was getting failure messages and the vehicle was barely moving. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a computer glitch, so they reset the computer and installed updates. However, when I picked up the vehicle, the check engine light was back on. The dealer then diagnosed the issue as a faulty throttle body and ordered a new one. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the dealer found that the throttle was defective from the factory and replaced it with a new one. I'm happy to report that the problem is now gone and the car runs great. Although I was disappointed with the initial issues, I'm glad that the dealer was able to resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. I'm looking forward to enjoying my Audi Q5 without any further issues.

I'm glad you love the SUV! It's important to note that the charge only goes for 25 miles, so it will need to be charged every day. You may want to consider hiring an electrician to put a 220 outlet in the garage to make charging more convenient. I understand that this may require some extra work, but it will be worth it in the long run.

I really love this car! It's perfect for our local errands and trips, and we get about 20-25 miles per charge. During the first week, we drove 600 miles on a single tank of gas since we charged it every night and operated it as a pure EV for half of those miles. The 360hp takes off like a rocket, and the traffic jam mode basically drives for you under 40mph on the highway. The CarPlay integration with Siri is great, and overall it's just a fun, quiet, and comfortable car. However, the seats are really uncomfortable for me, although my wife seems to have no problem with them. They're stiff and cause back pain, but with ergonomic cushions, I'm able to drive this car. Another minor annoyance is that I tend to sit far back, which makes the touchscreen hard to reach. It would've been nice to have the option of a control knob like the old MMI. Finally, if I were to do it all over again, I would've gone for the prestige instead of premium plus for the matrix headlights alone. It's a minor difference, but given it's the face of the car, I wish we'd have gone for it. I can see myself keeping this car for 5-6 years before going all-electric with the supposed Q6 EV coming out.

I've had this 2021 PP Q5 for a year now and it has been trouble-free. The car is enjoyable to drive, although the electronic steering reduces road feel, which is a bit of a bummer. On the highway, I often get 30+ MPG and have even reached as high as 35. In traffic, I usually get somewhere between 25 and 29. The acceleration is fantastic thanks to the great engine/transmission combination. While some people may find the seats too firm, I think they are just fine, especially for long trips, as they provide good back support, which is more important to me than being cushy. Surprisingly, the Kumho tires that came with the car are much better than I expected and even better than the Continentals that I had on my 2018 Q5.

The Audi Q5 is often considered a luxury SUV, but let's take a closer look at its real performance and suitability as a family car. When it comes to the chassis, the Audi dealer assured me that the standard chassis in combination with 19-inch wheels is very comfortable, so I decided not to order the optional air suspension due to delivery issues in 2022. However, I found that this combination is not as comfortable as advertised and may not be suitable for normal daily use. While Audi does offer higher comfort chassis solutions without air suspension, it seems unnecessary to pay extra for the same thing. Moving on to the interior, I found that the seats are not very comfortable and it can be difficult to find the right driving position. The center console only has two small drawers that aren't very useful, and the compartment below the elbow rest is the smallest in its class. Additionally, the slideable phone charger takes up space that could be used for cupholders, which are the only loading compartment of reasonable size. The material selection is not up to the level of luxury, as the plastic materials are not very soft and are more on par with standard class materials. On the other hand, the piano gloss on the middle console is a nice touch, although not very practical. Unfortunately, Audi has removed the remote control of the touch display from the middle console, so the only option is to work with the touchscreen directly while driving, which can be inconvenient. Additionally, the navigation does not provide alternative routes automatically if there is a traffic issue in front of you, and you have to hit a tiny button on the touchscreen while driving. Overall, while the Audi Q5 has some drawbacks, it still has many great features that make it a solid choice for a luxury SUV.As someone who is 179 cm tall, I found that when I adjusted the driver's seat to my liking, there was no legroom left for passengers in the rear seats. Unfortunately, the car cannot comfortably accommodate five passengers due to the large and tall tunnel. The investment in the rear seat package seems unnecessary as it only allows for the rear seats to be pulled forward, further reducing the already insufficient legroom. Additionally, the trunk size is appropriate, but the surface is not flat and there are no hooks for bags. If you are considering the Q5 as a family car, it may be worth reconsidering. It is misleading to compare this car to the GLC or X3 in terms of luxury level and driving comfort. Instead, it may be more appropriate to compare it to lower-cost options. It seems that Audi is selling low-cost solutions at a premium price.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my new 2021 car. Unfortunately, I had to take it to the dealership for repairs after only 2 months of owning it. The emission quality warning light came on, but thankfully the manual instructed me to slowly drive the car to the nearest dealership to avoid any damage to the catalytic converter.

I am writing this review to express my opinion of the 2021 Q5 Premium compared with the 2014 Premium Plus which I traded in (owned from new). The improvements are significant: the design is sharper, the interior layout has improved, especially the placement of the start/stop button and the easier to use temperature and fan controls. The acceleration and handling are sharper, and the brakes are more efficient and no longer squeak. Although there are some downsides, such as the ride being more firm, tire noise from the Continentals being worse than the Michelins, and excessive wind noise even at 40mph, the overall quality of the car is still exceptional. The glove box and central storage are smaller, and the under floor storage 'cubby holes' are gone because of the new emergency tire system. The information screen is no longer embedded in the dashboard, and the seats feel much firmer, and some of the door plastics are harder. However, these are minor issues that do not detract from the car's overall performance. My 2014 had only done 37,000 miles but it had a moonroof which I never used and as I had suffered some skin problems from the sun which penetrated the screen which is supposed to protect one. Audi will tell you that it gives 98% UV protection, but for how long? I live in Florida where dealers of some makes are now installing tints on the front side windows before releasing the car. My observation is that 95% of owners do not use the sunroof/moonroof. Audi is guilty of great waste and forcing buyers to have an unnecessary moonroof if they want the convenience package only available with a Premium Plus or special order. Overall, I am satisfied with my new Q5 and I am confident that it will continue to meet my expectations as an Audi owner.
