Trouble codes generated include 01325 - Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module No signal/communication and 01130 - ABS Operation Implausible signal static. Upon visiting an Authorized Volkswagen dealer service center was charged $200 for ABS diagnostic fee and told the ABS Control Module has failed and I will need to pay >$2900 to replace. ABS, ESP/ASR, airbag, and parking brake lights are now permanently active as a result and not certain these systems are functioning.

This is a know recall for 2009 models of the same vehicle. I replicated the issue a second time at a slower speed on a secluded road with the same results. There are numerous complaints about the same situation on this and other model VW cars of this year all over the internet forums. The ABS module was diagnosed as defective by mechanic shop.

- Summary: I noticed a common problem among MK6 GTI owners of the steering wheel messing up, causing many issues such as broken airbags, the horn not work, cruise control stopped, etc., and since I have the issue (air bag symbol, horn, no cruise control) as well I was wondering what could be done. This happened after a near-accident/close call and when I tried to honk it didnt work. It could've been for any situation and a car horn is very important. That on top of the fact that if I did crash there was a risk of me not even having an air bag. Not to mention the countless inconvenient long drices with no cruise control. I checked the wiring and the wheel/horn is connected properly, and everything else on the dasg works fine.The car has been in a minor accident before and I did take it to a VW dealership for mechanical and body work, so the car should've been fine had they fixed the issue, but the problem is I had zero idea about the recall and I'm assuming they didnt bother to check since I didnt mention, and so the issue was hidden away. I did in fact however call the dealership and call to ask if they perhaps incorrectly ordered a wrong oart or something, but they assured me that the car was handled to their best extent. I doubt fixing the issue would have been a bother, so they wouldve done it had they know. I'm 99% sure this is the recall affecting my car, and I sure would like some help. Thank you

- Summary: About a month ago, while driving , the abs light, brake light and ESP light came on. After about 2 weeks of troubleshooting, a local mechanic troubleshot the issues to a faulty ABS module. After many phone calls with my local VW dealership I was able to set an appointment for a diagnostic. They determined " Diag ABS system no communication advised on replacement module". The module costing $2,886.04 in parts and labor. With the part not in stock and the dealership saying " no way of knowing when we'll get one in". Over 130,000 VW's same year and model have had this same issue and been recalled but for some reason my vehicle doesn't have a recall on this vin. Both the VW dealership and VW customer care refuse to do anything. I believe this vehicle like many others were missed or ignored during the recall. My vehicle brakes have been sticking and have locked on me once already in the last month while driving. It is a safety hazard to drive.

Hey there! I've been driving this car from 19K miles all the way up to 240K and I must say, it's been an absolute blast! The handling is exceptional and the drive train is rock solid. Even after all these miles, my car still runs like a dream and doesn't burn any oil. The dash and controls are built to last and don't feel cheap or plasticky like some other cars from that time period. However, there have been a few minor issues outside of the main drive train that require some attention. But overall, I'm still in love with this car!

The 200 Horsepower VR6 is great! I found the 6 spd manual to be easier to use and shift than a 5 spd I test drove. I was lucky enough to buy my car with all the goodies, as it was the only one available in the DC area at the time. I absolutely love the personality that this car has. Additionally, it gets 21 city and 30 highway, which I think is very good for a 6 cylinder.

I took delivery of mine this month. So far, I've been really enjoying driving the car. From the subtle sporty looks to the refined interior, this car is both fun and practical. I'm always impressed with the acceleration, and having owned a 2003 GTI, I can confidently say that this car is miles ahead of it in every category, especially the handling! To put it simply, the 2007 GTI is more car than you would expect to get for $23,000.

This is my second VW in a very long driving career. I'm glad to say that the GTI is nearly as much fun to drive as my other German sports car. I was surprised by the performance from the 1.8T. The overall quality of the car is exactly what one expects from a German auto. As someone who travels extensively and rents almost every American and some Japanese brands, I can confidently say that the VW is superior to all of the American brands in terms of comfort and performance. Needless to say, I am not disappointed with my purchase.

I've owned my '03 VR6 GTI for just over 2 years, putting around 32K miles on it. It's been a great experience overall! Although I did have a few quality issues, especially with the paint (pearl indigo blue). The VR6 has great low-end torque, which makes it a blast to drive. However, it is a bit heavy, which can be noticeable when cornering at high speeds. On the bright side, the car handles fantastic at high speed on the highway, with very little cabin noise even at 85+ MPH. The Monsoon stereo system is fantastic, and the heated seats are great because you can adjust the heating level. Additionally, the cruise control is much more user friendly than on other cars I have driven. Overall, it's a fun, versatile car that is a great deal for the price!

Although I loved my GTI for driving, my experience with VW customer service at Beechmont VW Cincy OH was not up to standard. Unfortunately, I encountered a water pump failure at 12,000 miles and an un-diagnosed engine tick at 24,000 miles that VW would not honor warranty rental reimbursement policy. Despite my concerns, the service department lacked the necessary skill sets to manage my issues with empathy or real concern. However, there is so much about this car that I love, including its performance, handling, comfort, and overall design (exterior & interior). Regrettably, my customer service experience with VW has led me to decide not to buy a VW again, and I will advise everyone I know to avoid them. I have since traded in for a Honda Accord Sport Manual, and although I miss my turbo, handling, and the comfort of the seats on long road trips, I am so happy to no longer have to deal with VW corporate. The best part is that I have not encountered any major parts failures with the Honda either!

The car has many great features, but unfortunately, it seems to lack reliability. While it was a great car for the first 10,000 miles, it has since experienced a number of issues. These include excessive idle shake (which was deemed within specifications), a faulty air conditioning compressor, and windows that roll down but not up. Recently, there have been several check engine lights, including emissions and electronic power control, despite the car having less than 30 miles. We understand how frustrating this can be and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Despite my appreciation for the layout and performance of my 99 GTI, I have experienced several reliability issues, ranging from liquid dripping from my interior rear view mirror to my fuel system leaking and my air conditioner requiring replacement. The 'check engine' light on my dashboard has been a regular occurrence, and every time I schedule a check-up, it seems to go off! After contacting VW of America and going back and forth, they have finally agreed to inspect the car beyond the usual warranty. However, I have decided to sell the car as soon as they complete their inspection.
