Negative 2003 Volkswagen Gti car reviews

I was pleased with the car for the first few weeks, but unfortunately, I have experienced some issues with the interior. It rattles quite a bit, which can be distracting and frustrating. I hope that Volkswagen can address this issue in the future. As a loyal customer, I believe that we should receive the quality we pay for, regardless of where the car is assembled.

  2. Rodolfo Heidenreich 2024-06-11

Although I initially felt good about my purchase, I was disappointed when the coilpack failed and the interior trims began to rattle. It is concerning that VW has lowered the quality of their vehicles, especially considering the price point. This level of quality is unacceptable for a brand new car.

  3. Wilfrid Wintheiser 2024-06-03

Although my GTI has provided great performance for the price, I have experienced some issues with reliability. Unfortunately, I have had to take it to the shop multiple times for repairs. Despite these setbacks, I have put 17,000 miles on it and it continues to run well. I have had to replace the transmission at 2,000 miles, the rotors and pads at 200 miles, and the coil-packs recently. Additionally, I have had some minor issues such as the check engine light coming on three times, the passenger side window falling into the door sill, and a piece of trim coming off the roof twice. Recently, my brake lights stopped working and my center console broke, but I am confident that these issues will be resolved soon. Although my heated seats only work on number 5, I am still satisfied with my purchase overall.

Since my last review, I have experienced some issues with my GTI. Unfortunately, the ignition coil went bad while I was driving, and today, after running some errands, my car wouldn't start, leaving me stranded and blocking traffic. Thankfully, VW roadside assistance was able to come out and give me a jump, but unfortunately, the car still wouldn't start after turning it off. I suspect it may be an electrical problem, but I will have to wait until Monday to contact VW service and customer service, as they are closed on weekends.

  5. Garett Bashirian 2024-03-13

Driving in heavy DC traffic or on road trips is a breeze with this car! It's incredibly stable on the highway and can handle winter weather with ease. However, there have been some issues with reliability and build quality. Unfortunately, the car tends to squeak and rattle like a '72 AMC Gremlin, and the fuel system has been a bit of a nightmare. Despite these issues, the car is still a great choice for those who prioritize comfort and ease of driving. The window regulator did fail, but thankfully it's under warranty. Although the dealer hasn't had one in for a month, they're working on getting it fixed as soon as possible.

Positive 2003 Volkswagen Gti car reviews

  1. Haleigh Reinger 2024-11-26

I've been driving my GTI VR6 for about 6 months now and overall it's been a great experience. I did encounter a few minor issues, such as the car being delivered with low coolant level, but I was able to quickly resolve it by adding some water. Another time, a pebble got stuck between my rear brake rotor and the heat shield, causing a high pitched screeching noise, but it was easily fixed when I went in reverse and the pebble was ejected. The only other thing that bothered me was that the dealership drilled holes in the front bumper for the license plate frame even though I had asked them not to. But all in all, I'm still very happy with my car!

  2. Jedediah Stanton 2024-11-04

This car is really impressive. It's the kind of car that turns heads and gets noticed. You'll earn a lot of respect from RSX and Civic drivers because they know you mean business. The power is incredible, especially when chipped with GIAC. While I've had some issues with the windows and ignition coil, it's been worth it. Whether you're using it for everyday driving or customizing it to your heart's content, this car is a great value compared to other options.

  3. Nickolas Doyle 2024-11-02

I love this car! It handles like it's on a railroad track.

  4. Ansel Herman 2024-11-01

I've been driving my GTI for about three months now and I've loved every second of it. I opted for every available option and I must say, considering the power, smooth refinement, luxurious feel, and price, it's easily the best sports hatchback on the market. I also want to give a shoutout to Dave Walter VW in Akron for providing me with another great car buying experience. This is the second car I've purchased from them and both times have been the best car buying experiences I've ever had. If you're in the Northeast Ohio area, be sure to check them out!

  5. Deven Murazik 2024-10-18

You have a great car! The handling is really nice and the appearance is superior. The wheels are also really nice and the stereo system is good. I'm so glad to hear that you love your VW and plan to stick with it.
