I love my GTI! It has been incredibly reliable, has the perfect amount of speed, and handles like a dream. Even on long road trips, my husband would choose my car over his Impreza any day. Plus, my GTI is fully loaded and the interior design always impresses people. The gears shift so smoothly, it's a joy to drive.

I have experienced multiple issues with this car in a short period of time, including water leakage on the passenger side floor and trunk, as well as various problems with the locks, windows, and alarm. Despite my previous experience as a VW mechanic, I am disappointed with the quality of this vehicle and will not be purchasing another VW in the future.

This is my second VW and my first brand new car. I've driven a variety of cars from Japanese, American, German, etc. After owning a MKIII Golf, I can confidently say that this GTI is AWESOME! The power is definitely more than adequate, the ergonomics are great, and it's a kick in the pants to drive. As my daily commuter car, I absolutely love driving it every day. The 30-minute commute in the morning is a joy because I get to drive this car!

The car is so much fun to drive on both the autocross track and the street! It has plenty of torque for its size, is easy to modify, and looks like a true sport compact.

The sporty turbocharged 4-cylinder engine has been chipped to rip all doubts from the smaller K03S German-engineered turbo, powering the 4-cylinder to well over 200HP and giving the VW the power it needs to be a sporty coupé. With a quick throttle response and fast spool, the GTI outperforms most coupés in its price range. This car has the tuning of an import turbo mixed with the luxury of a European one. I absolutely love it!

The car has some great features such as smooth power, slick shifting, excellent handling, and a great ride. The interior design is also on par with Audi-level quality. However, there are some downsides to consider such as high insurance rates, rattles and squeaks that can intrude on an otherwise quiet cabin, and electronic gadgets that are prone to failure. OnStar was inoperative from day one and the alarm/central locking system was buggy. I have owned four VWs and have become accustomed to their quirks such as bad electrical systems, squeaks, leaks, and windows that fall into the doors. It is important to have a good dealer to ensure a positive experience. Overall, it is up to you to decide if you can get used to these quirks. If not, you may want to consider a CIVIC Si!
