I love this car! I bought it brand new from the dealership and have only driven it on nice summer days. It has great power, handles very well, and turns heads with its bright blue color. Although I've experienced minor problems, who hasn't with any car?

I'm on my second VW now and I've had it since it was brand new. Luckily, I've only had a few minor issues with it, and the warranty covered most of them. The only downside was the radio. Although I appreciated the security feature, I had to replace it three times. I spoke to several VW dealerships and they all acknowledged that this particular radio was problematic, but unfortunately, they didn't have any affordable solutions to offer me. In the end, I replaced it with an aftermarket in-dash CD player. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done and it's pretty loud. Overall, I'm really happy with my car and I would definitely recommend VWs to anyone looking for a reliable ride.

I've owned this car for just over three years and have driven almost 70K miles in that time. At around 50K miles, I had to replace the cat back exhaust. Since then, I've only had to replace the timing belt, get a tune-up, and fix the wheel bearings at 112K miles. Unfortunately, my biggest issue so far is that the reverse gear is completely shot. Overall, I can't complain too much about the car. Despite being pretty rough with it over the past three years, it has held up pretty well. The only thing I wish it had more of is power!

I've been driving this car for four years now, ever since I bought it used with 20k miles on it. It's always been a joy to drive, and I love the way it feels on the road. The only downside is that the spare parts can be a bit pricey. But overall, it's been a dependable car with no major issues, and I feel confident taking it anywhere I need to go!

The car is great to drive and has excellent handling. Although I have experienced some electrical issues with all three of my VWs, they have not been too troublesome, just a bit annoying. The rear wiper and side molding are a bit flimsy, but nothing major. Additionally, my VW with ABS brakes has malfunctioned. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely recommend this vehicle.

5 years of fun so far! I'm happy to report that there's nothing bad to mention, but the body has started making some creaking sounds. With 55,000 on the odometer, it's time for the timing belt replacement, new tires, and hoses. I've heard that the power steering may become a problem in the future?

i have owned my gti 4cyl for about 3 years. I have slowly watched it detereorate. ABS suddenly stopped working dash accessory lights blink or short out. Coolant and power steering won't stop leaking despite repairs. Can't drive 30 miles in the rain without it breaking down at least twice, despite repairs. Repairs are COSTLY! I can't even change my own spark plugs or wires due to design. It has about 113,000 mi and I can't wait to get rid of it. Consider this a warning to anyone considering buying one of these.
