Etymology
The name "Camry" derives from the Japanese word kanmuri (ja:冠, かんむり), meaning "crown". This follows Toyota's naming tradition of using the crown name for primary models starting with the Toyota Crown (1955), continuing with the Toyota Corona (1957) and Corolla (1966); the Latin words for "crown" and "small crown", respectively. Maintaining this theme was the Toyota Tiara (1960) named after the "tiara" form of crown. The Atara trim level name used on the Camry in Australia since 2011 means "crown" in Hebrew. The rebadged Camry variant for Japan, the Toyota Scepter (1991)—took its name from "scepter", a royal accessory to a crown.

The text on the load capacity label may become illegible. Although I would give it a 4-star rating instead of 5, due to the small headroom. I feel a bit squeezed, possibly due to the windshield or back window design. Additionally, the driver seat scoops my butt and is not as comfortable as I expected. However, this may be due to my smaller butt size.

This is my retirement car! I absolutely love the gas mileage with the hybrid. I wanted a car that I wouldn't have to fill up every week. I'm still learning all the features of the vehicle with the technology upgrades.

I named my leased Camry 'Holly' because I got her just after Christmas and she's a Hybrid (hence the 'H') LE. Despite being rear-ended twice by Ford Explorers that didn't stop in time, Holly has been excellent. I even turned down the emails offering thousands of dollars because I was fine. What's even more amazing is that, despite being rated for 51-53 MPG, I've been averaging 54.5 MPG for the 3 years that I've had her. However, there are a few little things that irritate me and shouldn't be part of a $28000 car. For example, after it rains, water drips onto the driver's seat and into the trunk when you open it. Cross winds can also be an issue, and there's no grab handle in the trunk. Unfortunately, you can't change the temperature to Celsius (not even Toyota can - I asked), and the switch to manual transmission is rough. Although my lease is nearly up and I have to get a Subaru because of my three dogs, Holly has done me proud. While I won't miss her per se, I will miss getting 54.5 MPG.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my car that I purchased in November 2018. I've been having some trouble with the mpg, as I was told it would get 51-53 but I'm only getting 37. I'm feeling a bit disappointed with the car at the moment.

Overall, I have had a positive experience with the car, but unfortunately, the navigation system has been a bit of a letdown. The only option available is Scout GPS, which I have had some issues with. When I reached out to Toyota for assistance, they informed me that there is currently no solution available. After pursuing arbitration, I was informed that the system only works with certain Android phones, which was not mentioned in the manual. It was also explained to me that since it is a third-party app, Toyota cannot take responsibility. To find out which phones are compatible, you have to visit their website. It would have been helpful to know this before purchasing the vehicle.
