At the time I waws never getting the maintenance indicator because the engine would run low on oil before I needed an oil change. I am having the same problem again. The car is not leaking oil. It's consuming oil. I now must drive around with extra oil in the trunk in case the oil is low. I have been a Toyota owner since 1986. I have always thought of Toyota as being one of the most reliable cars on the road. I have taken the car to the dealer near me (Toyota South Morrow, GA). Of course they do not want to further investigate this problem further. But I am sure is the problem. My mechanic also agrees that this is likely the problem.? What component failed? Engine / Oil How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car could stop at any time with engine failure, blown gaskets, etc. The problem is easily reproduce every oil change. Toyota Dealership has reviewed the problem. Now the consumption is so bad I have to check the oil every 2 weeks. The low oil indicator does not come on. Is there another recall possible if this first recall doesn't fix the problem permanently.

- Summary: 1)BODY- The body of the vehicle (paint) seems to be chipping and/or rusting at an increasingly rapid rate with no known causes. This rusting is causing the value of the car to plummet as I am trying to sell the vehicle. It first appeared in about 2019 and has been getting steadily worse without any way to stop it. 2) SUSPENSION- On every single Toyota I’ve owned (4) the struts wore very quickly and are NOT a cheap fix. I had to at one point, fix them more than once in the same vehicle. I was told by the repair tech that it is a common issue seen in Toyotas. If a strut goes while driving it can cause major safety issues for the driver. 3)WHEELS- The hubcaps more specifically speaking, on every Toyota I’ve owned, have also had an issue maintaining its hubcaps. One rolled off on the highway and nearly caused me to crash as it hit the side of my car and slid under the rear tires and made me slide all over the snowy highway. Luckily there weren’t many vehicles on the road or it could’ve been catastrophic. I also notice that the light for the tire pressure never turns off either. I can fill the tires, empty the tires, it does not matter, the light will never go off.

- Summary: The ABS brake actuator, part 44510-30270, initially failed in January of 2021 while traveling on the highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The VSC (vehicle stability control system) message appeared accompanied by multiple warning lights, followed by severely limited braking ability which endangered my family during high speed traffic on the 5 freeway. I purchased a used actuator on eBay immediately, it lasted not quite 2 years (it's 2023), it has now failed. I recently purchased a new used actuator pump again, and it has failed immediately. There is obviously a design flaw with this part, yet YOU (NHTSA) and Toyota refuse to address it properly. There is no reason why this device has not been recalled other than negligence. You need to reopen this case, and force Toyota to recall this part before someone is injured or worse!

- Summary: Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 Tundra, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion xB, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2007 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, and 2009-2010 Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. During the manufacturing of the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS), grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts.
- Consequence: If the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture that get into the switch may cause a short circuit and the switch assembly may overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the switch, applying a lubricant if no abnormality is found. If abnormality is found, the PWMS circuit board will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 20, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. - Remedy: Toyota will notify its owners, and dealers will inspect the switch and apply a special grease that inhibits heat build up or replace any switch damaged by the defect, free of charge. Toyota owners that experience a problem with a switch should not attempt to make repairs, but should contact their Toyota dealer or the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331. General Motors will contact the Pontiac Vibe owners affected by this recall and GM dealers will inspect and repair switches as necessary. I'm writing this review for two reasons. Firstly, to share my impressions on the car. Secondly, to discuss Edmunds ratings. The car itself has been fantastic and has lived up to all its advertised features. I've been getting an average of 36 MPG, and 42 on highway trips. Although the trunk is smaller than a normal Camry, it's still very usable due to its height. I opted for leather and Nav, and while most people don't notice the difference between this and another loaded Camry, I'm very pleased with my choice so far and haven't had any problems. I do think that Edmunds tends to rate hybrids low, unless it's a high-end Lexus LS ($100K). They seem to prioritize pure power over usability, which I don't necessarily agree with.

I am extremely satisfied with this car even after driving it for 18,000 miles. During a recent trip from CT to PA, with 4 people on board, cruise set at 75, and A/C set on economy, I was able to achieve an impressive 36-37 mpg. Upon filling the tank, my own calculation was even closer to 38 mpg. Although my wife had a minor bumper issue while backing out of a space and clipping an SUV, I was able to fix it myself by popping the dent back out with a crowbar. This saved me a significant amount of money that I would have otherwise spent at the bodyshop. Overall, this car has proven to be reliable and cost-effective.

The Camry is such a smooth ride, making it perfect for long trips! It's impressively quiet inside, and I absolutely love the handsfree phone system. The seats are supportive and easy to adjust, and the gas mileage is fantastic - I'm getting over 35 mpg, even with mostly highway driving. The engine starts seamlessly, with no jerks or power jumps, and the gauges are easy to read. Plus, the 8-speaker, 6-disc music system is a real treat. I highly recommend the Camry to anyone, regardless of age or generation!

After owning my Camry Hybrid for not even three years, I have totally loved it until recently. Unfortunately, my GPS screen went black and I can't open my CD player, but everything else works on it. I contacted Toyota about this issue, but they informed me that they won't be able to help with this expense, even though it's under 3 years old. I'm disappointed with their response, but I'm hopeful that we can find a solution together.

Hello! We're happy to report that our car has been running smoothly for almost 30,000 miles now with only routine maintenance needed. While the mileage is as advertised, it does dip into the high 20's during winter city driving. Unfortunately, we did have to replace the OEM tires at 22K, which was a bit sooner than expected. The car is a comfortable cruiser and has great power for a hybrid in its fuel mileage class. However, we have noticed some issues with the dashboard creaking, especially in cold weather, and the interior plastics and fit and finish could be improved. Although it's not a perfect car, we still find it to be a non-offensive and quiet ride. One thing to note is that the cruise control can be a bit un-nerving in hilly areas, as it tends to vary between 72 and 78 when set at 75. Overall, we're pleased with our purchase and would recommend it with some reservations.

I purchased my car brand new from IRA in Tewksbury. Unfortunately, it has had electrical issues since the first week, which have now progressed into safety issues such as the brakes locking up and making it difficult to stop. Despite numerous visits to the service center, the problem has not been resolved, and even corporate engineers have been unable to figure out the root cause. While I was initially appeased with lies, I now realize that I was too trusting. Currently, I am unable to trade in my car or receive a buyout, which is concerning as I cannot put my 8-month-old son in this car. After picking up my car following the second attempt to fix the brakes, I lost them again after just an hour. Despite admitting that there are other cars with similar issues, neither IRA nor the corporate office are taking appropriate action. It is disappointing to see Toyota's quality decline in recent years.

Here's what I found out regarding small batteries: unfortunately, there is no warranty and they require a special battery that costs more due to safety concerns. As for the mileage, it should be somewhere between 26-28 miles per gallon according to the manufacturer. Personally, I don't think hybrids are the best fit for us since we only drive around 380 miles per month. I'm currently looking into leasing either a Fiesta or a Hyundai.

The new Camry Hybrid offers a wide range of wonderful accessories, including the ability to extend your MPG with its new Synergy drive. The car has plenty of power to get up to highway speed. However, at higher speeds, the car tends to lunge forward, which can be disconcerting. The steering can also be a bit tricky at these speeds. The interior materials may not be the most luxurious, with a lot of plastic, even with the upgraded leather. It's surprising that this car costs over $30,000. Toyota may want to reconsider their pricing. The batteries form a wall between the trunk and the fold-down rear seats, which may make it difficult to load long objects. Overall, the Camry Hybrid is a great car with some room for improvement.

The GPS screen randomly going out is just one of the issues we've experienced with the car. Despite the fuel economy gains, this Toyota has required much higher maintenance compared to our previous 3. We've encountered problems with the indoor cabin air filtration system, brakes, air conditioning, and the significant NAV screen issue. The radio also cuts out intermittently, indicating a malfunction in some of the electronic components or wiring. Despite being out of warranty, I am confident in discussing these concerns with the dealer tomorrow.

The car rides smoothly with a nice CVT and good mileage. However, there have been some structural issues. The inside dash squeaks and the entire front bumper is made of cheap plastic. I had to replace the whole bumper once, but the dealer said the warranty doesn't cover it due to a 'design flaw'. Unfortunately, the genuine Toyota replacement bumper is also falling apart. It's disappointing that even a slight accidental bump can cause the bumper to crack and deteriorate. This is a really bad design flaw! I had a negative experience with the Bluetooth hands-free car phone as well. Additionally, despite meticulously maintaining the tires every 5K miles, they only lasted 20K miles. It's difficult to find Toyota quality in these issues. However, I appreciate the smooth ride and good mileage. Thank you for considering my feedback.
