THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.

- Summary: SO I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM SOMEONE ON CRAIGSLIST AND WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND THE HISTORY REPORT MENTIONED A POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES BUT I WAS ALSO TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED NOT TOO LONG AGO BY THE OWNER WHO HAD THE CAR BEFORE THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM. WELL AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS, THE SUBFRAME CRACKED WHICH WAS A $700 FIX AND TOOK ME MONTHS TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY AND MY CAR WAS NOT DRIVEABLE AT THE TIME. I GOT THE VUE FROM THE SHOP MAYBE 2 WEEKS AGO AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE IT EITHER DOESN'T MOVE OR GIVES ME A LOT OF TROUBLE MOVING. WHEN I POP IT INTO DRIVE IT EITHER DOESN'T MOVE, GIVES ME TROUBLE MOVING, GOES INTO REVERSE, OR WILL MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND JERK AGGRESSIVELY BEFORE DRIVING. I TOOK THE CAR TO GET LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD IT HAD ONE OF THE ORIGINAL CVT SATURN TRANSMISSIONS AND IT WILL NEED REPLACED. THE PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AND COST MOST THAN THE CAR IS WORTH AND MORE THAN I EVEN PAID FOR THE CAR, ACCORDING TO THE MECHANICS I TOOK THE CAR TO. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND EVEN CAUSED A LAWSUIT WITH SATURN AND GM. SINCE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE TYPE OF ENGINE SATURN USED, I DIDN'T KNOW IF I COULD GET IT REPLACED LIKE MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN THE LAWSUIT DID. I AM A BROKE AND STRUGGLING COLLEGE STUDENT AND OTHER THAN THE TRANSMISSION THIS CAR IS IN GREAT CONDITION. I AM WORRIED I WILL BE DRIVING TI ONE DAY AND THE CAR WILL STOP WORKING AND I'LL CRASH.

- Summary: I WENT TO A GM DEALERSHIP IN JUNE OF 2016 TO HAVE THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED DUE TO THE RECALL. IT'S BEEN EXACTLY A YEAR AND HAVE STARTED HAVING SEVERE ISSUES WITH MY NEW IGNITION SWITCH SUCH AS, THE STEERING WILL LOCKS AND I TRY TO TURN THE KEY AND THE IGNITION SWITCH LOCKS TO THE POINT THAT I CAN NOT GET IT UNLOCKED. I WAS STRANDED AT A SHOPPING CENTER DUE TO THIS PROBLEM I ATTEMPTED TO GET THE IGNITION SWITCH TO UNLOCK FOR OVER A HALF AN HOUR AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. ALSO MY KEY WHICH WAS BRAND NEW LAST JUNE HAS HAD ALL OF THE SILVER METAL COATING SCRAPED OFF OF IT BY MY IGNITION SWITCH. I NOW HAVE BEEN HAVING TO START MY CAR BEFORE ENTERING THE VEHICLE SO THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT LOCK OTHERWISE IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IT UNLOCKED. CAR WAS PARKED AND OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

- Consequence: If the key can be removed from the ignition when the ignition is not in the "off" position, the vehicle could roll away: (a) for an automatic transmission, if the transmission is not in the "Park" position; or (b) for a manual transmission, if the parking brake is not engaged and the transmission is not in the "Reverse" position. This potential for rollaway increases the risk for a crash and occupant or pedestrian injuries.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicle to see if the key can be pulled out when the ignition is off. If it can, dealers will replace the ignition cylinder and keys, free of charge. The recall began in October 2014. Owners may contact Saturn customer service at 1-800-553-6000. GM's number for this recall is 14506. Note: Until a vehicle has been remedied, owners and operators are advised that when exiting, to be sure that the vehicle is in "Park," or in the case of a manual transmission, that the vehicle is in the "Reverse" position and the parking brake is engaged.

This vehicle has been an absolute joy to drive! Its remarkable handling and responsiveness have taken me from TX to FL with ease. The ABS system has been a life-saver on more than one occasion. Even after all these years, the car still handles well and responds immediately when I need the power to get out of tight situations. One of my favorite features is the fold-away rack in the tailgate area. I've been approached by a number of passers-by inquiring where I purchased the rack, only to tell them it is a feature of the Saturn Vue. This car is full of thoughtful features that make it stand out from the rest. I am so happy with its reliability that I am reluctant to purchase a new vehicle. Nothing I've researched comes close to the quality, features, or performance of my 2003 Saturn Vue!!!

Love this car! It's been 11 years since I purchased it brand new and it's still going strong. I was disappointed when Saturn stopped building these. Just wanted to give an update - I sold the car 2 years ago, but it was a great car. Now I own a Jaguar XJL and I love it too!

I've been driving my VUE for over 5 years and it has been a reliable companion for commuting, shopping, playing taxi, camping, and even climbing mountains in Hawaii and Europe (we're military). We have always taken good care of our VUE and it has never given us any reason to complain. Even though there are no Saturn dealers in Europe, we have had no issues taking it to the Opal dealer for servicing, and the traction control has saved me a couple of times on the wet autobahn. With a gas mileage of about 21-24 mpg at 80 mph, it's been great on our wallets too. I'm definitely considering buying a hybrid VUE when this one is about ten years old. Until then, see you on the Zugspitz!

I live in New England and I'm happy to say that the VUE has been totally reliable and excellent in the inclement weather. It's an extremely versatile vehicle and the dealer has backed it flawlessly. I would strongly recommend looking into the VUE if you're in the market for a moderate-sized SUV or a station wagon.

The VUE wasn't my first choice, but with all the incentives and the GM Card points, I had to go for it. I'm happy to report that the pickup from a dead stop is very good, and the gas mileage runs between 21 and 26. What's more, the VUE has a ton of interior room; adults can actually sit comfortably in the back seat. My wife and I are very pleased with this vehicle.

I wish I had done better research. Although it fit the bill of decent mileage for a small SUV, it has been causing trouble every few months since I purchased it with 80,000 miles. I'm planning to sell it as soon as I get a chance! The transmission would be covered by my extended warranty, but unfortunately, it's not just the transmission that's causing issues. I keep having to pay for the wires, modules, and connections that lead to the transmission. However, I'm grateful for the extended warranty, as it has helped me with other issues like leaky valves, wheel bearing replacement, and other misfires. I would advise against buying one of these vehicles, as they are cheaply made. The whole exterior is plastic, and the mechanics are of equal quality.

We've owned our VUE for 7 years now. Unfortunately, we've had to replace the wheel bearings twice, at $450 each, between 50,000 and 65,000 miles. And now, at 107,000 miles, we're having to replace them again. It's been frustrating to deal with these issues. We've also had to replace the motor in the rear window wiper after 60,000 miles, and the cord to raise the hood has had to be replaced twice. We even had to replace the clutch in the 4-speed at 40,000 miles. While some VUEs may work out okay, our experience has been less than ideal.

I purchased my Saturn from a buy here pay here dealership. It appeared to be a great car and functioned well until the transmission failed at the 100,000 mile mark. Unfortunately, I am now being informed that it is my responsibility to repair it. I was extremely upset and felt that the dealership must have been aware of the issue. Regrettably, I do not have the funds to cover the repair costs. I expressed my frustration to the dealership and decided to part ways with the car. It is important to note that this experience has negatively impacted my credit. I would advise against purchasing this car unless you have a significant amount of money set aside for potential repairs.

We purchased the Saturn in November of 2012 with 78000 miles on it. Unfortunately, the transmission failed in January of 2013 with 81000 miles on it. Despite this setback, I have learned a valuable lesson about the importance of researching and considering reviews before making a purchase. While this experience was challenging, I remain confident in my ability to make informed decisions in the future.

I purchased my Vue in 2003, after owning 2 different Saturn Sedans. Unfortunately, I had to have both rear wheel bearings replaced just 6 months after purchase. Then, I encountered transmission problems. Despite having to replace the transmission 4 times in only 96k miles, GM is only willing to pay 50% of the $4800 cost. As a disabled person on Social Security Disability with limited funds, I strongly believe that the transmission should be replaced in full. My experience and expertise in this matter lead me to this conclusion. If anyone has had similar experiences, I would be interested in hearing about them.
