The Tesla Model X is a battery electric mid-size luxury crossover SUV built by Tesla, Inc. since 2015. Developed from the full-sized sedan platform of the Tesla Model S, the vehicle notably uses falcon wing doors for passenger access.

The Model X has an EPA size class as an SUV, and shares around 30 percent of its content with the Model S, half of the originally planned 60 percent, and weighs about 10 percent more. Both the Model X and Model S are produced at the Tesla Factory in Fremont, California. The prototype was unveiled at Tesla's design studios in Hawthorne, California on February 9, 2012. First deliveries of the Model X began in September 2015. After one full year on the market, in 2016, the Model X ranked seventh among the world's best-selling plug-in cars. A refresh of the Tesla Model X was introduced in 2021, offering a new "Plaid" performance model, along with a revised interior, powertrain, and suspension.

As of September 2023, the Model X is available as a Long-Range version with an estimated EPA range of 348 miles (560 km) and a high performance "Plaid" version with an estimated EPA range of 333 miles (536 km).

Negative 2023 Tesla Model x car reviews

  1. Uriel Wilkinson 2024-10-18

I've been leasing the 2023 Tesla X Plaid for 9 months now and I'm glad I did. Although it's not worth the initial price of $123,000 (now $110,000 as Tesla has dropped the price), there are some great features that make it a fun car to drive. The wing doors and automated self-closing doors are cool, and the yolk steering wheel is actually quite nice. While there are some downsides, such as the non-luxury feel and poor craftsmanship, the car is still enjoyable to drive. The turn signal button is not well-placed and the customer service could be better, but overall it's a decent car. However, for the price, you may want to consider other high-end luxury cars like the Range Rover or Escalade. Personally, I'm looking forward to the end of my lease.

  2. Carroll DuBuque 2024-04-17

I received my car a few days before the end of the year, but unfortunately, I experienced some issues with it. Initially, I heard some metal scratching noises when I turned the steering wheel, but after a couple of visits to the service center, they were able to fix the issue. However, I later noticed that some trims were missing on the door, which required another service call. Although it took a bit longer than expected, the service team eventually resolved the issue. While there were some other functionality issues with the car, I believe that with some improvements to the manufacturing process and service team, these issues can be resolved. Overall, I think that the company should focus on improving the quality of their cars and service, rather than just increasing prices. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

  3. Fritz Klein 2024-04-07

Tesla's service needs improvement to ensure the reliability of their cars. I have had to take my car to the service center 7 times in the last 18 months, which is concerning. While Tesla's business model is innovative, their customer service could use some work. It can be difficult to get in touch with someone and the wait times for service can be longer than expected. Additionally, the design flaw in the Model X that causes tire wear is something that Tesla should address. It would be great to see Tesla take steps to improve their service and address these issues.

Positive 2023 Tesla Model x car reviews

  1. Mohamed Kertzmann 2024-11-21

I can tell you that I absolutely love this car! It's incredibly reliable and the instrument panel is so simple to use. The air conditioning is also super efficient, which is great because I can stay comfortable indoors without any worries. The seats are also really comfortable and the doors are easy to open and close. Plus, this car is an absolute blast to drive - it can go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.5 seconds! And the fact that my solar panels keep it fully charged is just the cherry on top. The only things I'm not crazy about are the horn button and the turn signal setup. And while I'm not a huge fan of the service being entirely run by artificial intelligence, I understand the appeal. Overall, though, I'm really happy with this car!

  2. Jesse Mohr 2024-10-12

The car is impressively quiet and provides a comfortable ride with tremendous acceleration. Additionally, the 360 range is great!

  3. Amparo Medhurst 2024-10-02

The Model X faces tough competition from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes, which are catching up and even surpassing it in some areas such as fit and finish. However, the Model X still sets the standard for a full-size electric SUV with its excellent 330+ mile range and reliable technology. The interior may be more spartan than luxurious, but it has a nice airy feel and is definitely a notch above the Model 3/Y. The ride and handling are good, especially with the air suspension, although not quite as plush as the Mercedes EQE or as composed as the BMW iX. The falcon-wing doors may seem gimmicky, but they help set it apart, along with the self-driving feature. The Plaid performance, in particular, is simply astounding and a great value for what you get!

  4. Griffin Howe 2024-09-25

    Best SUV ever!

  5. Jo O'Connell 2024-09-22

The Tesla X 2022 is really impressive! The interior is absolutely stunning and the ride is incredibly smooth. The steering is also very good and the inside finishing is excellent. I actually had a 2018 Tesla before and I decided to replace it with the new one. I have to say, compared to the 2018 model, the ride is even smoother and the interior is superior. Driving the Tesla X 2022 is an excellent experience and the display screen is easy to use and can be moved in three directions.
