When the 8GB eMMC NAND flash memory device for the center display reaches lifetime wear, the eMMC controller will no longer be able to maintain the integrity of the filesystem, causing a failure in some of the center display functions.
- Consequence: The eMMC controller wear-out condition can cause the loss of the rearview camera display, defrost/defog control settings, and exterior turn signal lighting, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Owners should ensure their vehicles are operating firmware release 2020.48.48.12 or newer, which will alert owners if the eMMC is approaching lifetime wear. - Consequence: Loss of power steering assist would require a higher steering effort, especially at lower speeds, which may increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Tesla will notify owners, and Tesla Service Centers will replace the steering gear mounting bolts with coated steel bolts, and add a corrosion-preventative sealer to the steering gear motor housing and motor connection bolts. If the mounting bolts are found to be broken or break during removal and cannot be removed, a new steering gear will also be installed. All services will be performed free of charge. I received my Model X on December 30th, and it was delivered right to my doorstep at 10:00 pm. I have to say, it was one of the most exciting car purchases I've ever made! The car is incredibly fast, smooth, quiet, and comfortable, and its range is excellent. It truly feels like the future of transportation. I did have a few minor issues, but Tesla's customer service was absolutely first class and took care of everything quickly. This is in stark contrast to my previous BMW X5, which was a complete nightmare to deal with. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase. Even a year later, the car is still awesome and any minor issues were swiftly taken care of by Tesla's amazing customer service. It looks great, feels great, and I couldn't be happier with my vehicle.

Hello! If you're not familiar with navigating a smart phone (excluding Apple), this car may not be the best fit for you. However, I must say that this car has truly changed my life! I've been driving my 2017 X for 6 months now and have already put over 21,000 trouble-free miles on it. I've taken it on all sorts of adventures, from the mountains to the everglades, and it has never let me down. The view from inside is even better than my convertible, and the cooling seats are a lifesaver in the summer. You can even cool or heat the car from the Tesla app on your phone before you enter, as well as lock/unlock doors and move it forward and backward for tight parking. The adjustable suspension is great on bad terrain, and the autopilot feature is a huge help on long trips or in traffic (just be sure to stay alert, as bad drivers are everywhere and construction or roads with no lines can confuse the car at times). I have the 5 seat configuration and my rear seat folds down, and I've heard that all the new models have this feature now too. Charging is super easy and fast compared to stopping multiple times to fill up, and the navigation is so accurate that it even has signal when my phone doesn't! While I've heard of some people having issues with their cars, I'm happy to say that I'm not one of them, and it's actually pretty rare. Just remember to read my first sentence and that should explain everything. Upon delivery, you'll be treated to excellent service and a full introduction to the vehicle. It may take a few days to soak in all the amazing things this SUV (that drives like a lotus) can do!

I purchased this car in December and I absolutely love it! It runs without any noise and keeps going. I only have one concern, which is that I wish there was a backup battery. Charging is easy, but I haven't used it for a long drive yet. I usually charge it up to 90%, but I don't trust it for long trips yet. It would be great if Tesla opened more supercharger stations as they are still very limited. The battery does drain pretty fast, but other than that, I don't have any complaints. The price is high and the tires can be expensive for long rides. I worry about getting a flat tire in the middle of the night as Tesla doesn't provide a spare tire. I hope more supercharger stations will open soon.

After purchasing the Model X, a part of the applique between the falcon wings flew off while I was driving at 75 mph on the 417 in Florida. Despite my concerns, the service department has been unable to locate a replacement part, as they claim that this has never happened before. Unfortunately, this has rendered the car virtually useless, as I cannot drive it in the rain or wash it properly without risking damage to the wires and cables that operate the falcon doors. However, I am confident that the service department will find a solution to this issue soon.

When considering a car purchase, it's important to look beyond just the appearance and technology. Have you ever spent 1.5 hours filling up your car at a gas station? With their supercharging station, Tesla claims you can fully charge in just 15 minutes, but my experience has been different. Additionally, it's important to consider the cost of battery replacement after 8-10 years, as it can be quite expensive. I purchased my Model X in December 2016, but unfortunately, it has been in the shop since January 2017 due to a number of issues. These include cracked/de-laminated windshield, loud brakes, lower than expected battery life, misaligned doors, rattling seats, broken tire guard, malfunctioning heater, and more. It's important to be aware of these potential issues before making a purchase.

I both love and dislike the car. While it is very techy and fast, the reliability does not seem to back it up. Constantly having to visit the service department is not very pleasant. I thought my Land Rover was unreliable, but this is on a different level. However, it was expected when buying an electric vehicle with immature technology. The interior quality could have been much better, as the car feels like a cheap American car. But we know why we paid those expensive price tags! The tax savings, incentives that California gives, and potential gas savings make the car not that expensive! Overall, I would give it a 3-star rating.

In July 2022, I purchased a 2016 Tesla Model X P90D from a private seller who was upgrading to a newer model. As someone who wanted to try an electric SUV with a long driving range, Tesla was the obvious choice with its supercharging network. I was fortunate to transfer over the free supercharging and extended warranty from the previous owner. However, I have encountered some unexpected costs, such as the high insurance cost of over $4,000 per year in BC Canada. Additionally, the unique tire size and inability to rotate them as much has resulted in more frequent replacements. Despite these challenges, I have found the car to be a reliable mode of transportation. While there have been some minor issues, such as the voice command feature and air suspension, they were resolved through updates and replacements. Although the car has depreciated in value since my purchase, I am still satisfied with my decision to buy it. Overall, I am confident in the quality and performance of my Tesla Model X P90D.This car has too many issues and is too expensive to maintain for a luxury vehicle that's 8 years old. The windows on the front driver and passenger doors do not work properly to close and seal for driving in freezing temperatures, and the mirrors do not fold in or out correctly in freezing temperatures. This has resulted in me starting to drive without realizing my windows were not out and struggling to fix it in a safe way while driving. However, I am confident in my assessment of the car's issues and believe that it is important to address them in a timely manner.
