The Tesla Model X is a battery electric mid-size luxury crossover SUV built by Tesla, Inc. since 2015. Developed from the full-sized sedan platform of the Tesla Model S, the vehicle notably uses falcon wing doors for passenger access.

The FSD Beta system may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane, entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop, or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. In addition, the system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver's adjustment of the vehicle's speed to exceed posted speed limits.
- Consequence: FSD Beta software that allows a vehicle to exceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner increases the risk of a crash.

At first, I wasn't interested in this car. However, my spouse convinced me to buy an electric car and this one met our needs perfectly. While there are some unnecessary gadgets, I would have preferred better cup holders or interior lighting instead of more arcade games. Also, if you're not a people person, be prepared for everyone to speak to you when you have your falcon doors open. In terms of infrastructure, the industry does have multiple charging compatibility issues, but in the three years we've owned it, the amount of charges has increased dramatically. I've driven long trips across the Midwest and have never had any issues. Even at Lake Ozark, there is a supercharger at Target. The car is incredibly fast and safe, and has the best reliability of any car we've ever owned. Previously, I owned multiple MBs, which I thought were far sexier than my Tesla, but there is nothing sexy about constantly scheduling service appointments. I have had zero issues with my car after three years! I cannot believe how well this car does in the snow. It's amazing that via software upgrades, you get the benefit of increased range, new features, and of course, we just got full self-driving which is going well. Overall, I would tell you that this is a car I originally didn't want, but it has turned out to be an incredibly reliable, safe, and convenient car for our family that we will have for a very long time.

Many of the reviews online, including the 2017 and 2018 Edmunds reviews, are a little out of date due to the continuous improvements that Tesla makes to their production process, as well as the after-production updates via Tesla's amazing over-the-air update system. For example, the latest navigation and autopilot updates as of July 2018 make this car vastly superior to anything else on the road in these areas. Additionally, based on my model that was built in late 2017, the fit and finish seem to be slowly improving as well. The Model X has many pros, including excellent handling and acceleration, making driving it feel like magic. The utility is also excellent due to the huge amount of interior space, thanks in large part to the lack of an engine and gas tank. While there are no roof racks, most of what you would put up on the roof can be stowed inside the cabin or in the fronk with much more convenience. For towing, the auto-leveling air suspension, included tow hitch, and the vast torque allow the Model X to easily tow just about anything. Technically, though, the X is legally rated to 5,000 lbs, and towing will reduce your range by roughly 20% depending on various factors, so you have to take that into account. The range provided by the 100D is fantastic at around 300 miles, and along with the Tesla charging network, road trips have been a dream. My favorite feature is Autopilot, which has gotten so good that I no longer want to drive without it. It feels a lot safer and easier to have both yourself and the car reacting to situations in real-time. For example, if you look down for a moment and someone slams on the brakes in front of you, Autopilot will automatically slow down. I've also noticed that in dark, rainy conditions, Autopilot seems to be better at seeing the road ahead than I can due to the array of sensors, which was really surprising.The built-in Navigation is the best I've seen in any car by a wide margin. It's just like using Google maps on your phone, but built-in and easily visible on the huge display. The voice recognition works amazingly well too, meaning you can just say; 'navigate to home depot', and it just works. However, there are some cons to consider. The falcon wing doors are great to show off to your friends, but they are not practical. In a normal garage for instance, they can't open fully so you have to crawl under them to get into the car. Additionally, Tesla's push button door handles require a lot of force to activate and can be irritating. Some people may prefer the 3% hit to range to get back regular door handles. My Model X was built in late 2017 and the build quality is clearly improving, but I did have a couple of small fit and finish issues that required me to drop my X off for repair immediately after pickup. It's worth noting that the X is not an off-road capable SUV. Lastly, the seats are not as comfortable as those found in other luxury cars in the same price range. While the included 'vegan leather' seats may appeal to environmentalists, they may not be to everyone's taste. It seems criminal to me that the Tesla Model X is so badly lacking in this area, especially since nicer seats can be procured from the same vendors that make seats for other car brands. Overall, if you get a Tesla, you will have the best car on the planet, but it's important to consider these factors before making a decision.Overall, the Tesla Model X is such a vast improvement over every other SUV on the market, and it's definitely worth owning one despite its small flaws.

The 2017 Model X has had some issues since I purchased it in July 2017. However, I have been able to enjoy its nice acceleration and quiet ride. Although the instrument panel is a bit strange, I am confident that the issues I have experienced will be resolved. While there have been some problems with start-up batteries, key fobs, light bulbs, and air leaks in the tires, I am confident that these issues will be resolved. In the event of a flat tire, I was disappointed to learn that neither the tow drivers nor the dealership had a spare tire available. However, I am confident that the dealership will be able to order a tire and resolve the issue in a timely manner. While there have been some delays in the promised updates and charging stations, I am confident that these will be resolved in due course. Overall, I believe that the Model X is a great car and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality vehicle.

I recently test drove the Tesla when I was in the market for a new vehicle. Overall, I was impressed with the car, but as someone who is 6'4'', I found the interior room to be a bit lacking. Despite the lack of leg room, I still think the Tesla is a great car. If you're on the shorter side, this could be the perfect vehicle for you. However, if you're taller like me, you may want to keep searching for a car with more spacious interior.

The car can die while plugged in and unfortunately, the app will not notify you. If this happens, there is no way to unlock the car and jump it like a normal car. You may need to pay for professional assistance. It's best to live in an area with a Tesla dealership nearby, otherwise, you may need to pay for towing to a service center.

I purchased the X brand new in 2019 with the long distance range (approx. 320 miles) from Scottsdale, AZ. While the car is fast and has the added benefit of HOV lane access, there are a few downsides. The distance range is not as advertised, and the cabin noise on the freeway can be quite loud, making it difficult to hear when using Bluetooth. Additionally, the interior quality is not up to par with other luxury cars in the same price range, such as BMW and Mercedes. For the price, the seats and interiors should be more comfortable and luxurious. I paid $112,000.00 out the door, which is quite expensive. Thankfully, I did not purchase one for my wife as well. Super charging stations are not very common, and when you do find one, they can be quite busy, taking up to 40 minutes to charge. Personally, I prefer to gas up for 5 minutes and be on my way. Overall, while the X has some pros, the cons outweigh them and make it not worth the cost.

I own a 2019 Model X, which is a $107K car brand new. Unfortunately, we are very unhappy with the vehicle. We have noticed that we can't drive the vehicle too far, as we are lucky to get 150 miles on a full charge when it says fully charged at 220 miles range. I almost ran out of charge on the road when I went to the Harrisburg airport. I drove only 150 miles, and the full charge says I can drive 220 miles, even with no heat running today. When I realized I was not going to make it home, I had to stop at a place to charge for almost 3 hours on a 110 outlet. The charge has only increased from 5 miles to 16 miles in 3 hours, and I can't even take the chance to leave until I have at least 20 miles charge. Although I am disappointed with the car, I believe that Tesla can improve the battery charging system. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
