When the 8GB eMMC NAND flash memory device for the center display reaches lifetime wear, the eMMC controller will no longer be able to maintain the integrity of the filesystem, causing a failure in some of the center display functions.
- Consequence: The eMMC controller wear-out condition can cause the loss of the rearview camera display, defrost/defog control settings, and exterior turn signal lighting, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Owners should ensure their vehicles are operating firmware release 2020.48.48.12 or newer, which will alert owners if the eMMC is approaching lifetime wear. Everything about this car is amazing! It's hi-tech, performant, and a real head-turner. Even though my car is 4 years old, it feels consistently brand new thanks to software updates.

I previously owned a 2021 BMW X5, which was decent in terms of fit and finish, but had some issues with the driver profile mapping, hydraulic suspension, and fuel consumption. However, after switching to the 2018 Model X, I was blown away by its technology and innovation. Not only is it an EV with great range, but it also offers a unique and breathtaking view of the surroundings through its extended windshield. The autopilot feature is also a great addition, allowing for safe and enjoyable long drives. The back seats are spacious and comfortable, with the middle row seats even offering a special view through the top glass on the falcon wing door. While the third row seats may lack legroom, the monopost middle row seats can be adjusted to provide more foot space without compromising comfort. Summoning the vehicle in a parking lot is a fun experience, but be prepared to jump in when it arrives. Overall, the 2018 Model X is definitely worth the investment, offering a one-of-a-kind driving experience.

I really liked this vehicle when I first got it and I still do, but as with any technology-focused platform, after 5 years, things aren't as great. Unfortunately, the battery has degraded about 11%. I bought the 100D specifically for its battery life, but on purchase, 100% charge was 310 mi, and now at 100%, I get around 275 mi. That means standard charging at 80% is 220 mi. I've had to replace the main computer CPU for $2400, the steering unit for $550, and now it squeaks like a rust bucket. I've only driven 45k mi and have already had to replace the tires twice, which cost $1600 each time (due to the offset wheels, the inside of the tires wears especially fast). Additionally, things that used to be free (music, news) are no longer free. On a hot day, the sensor on the falcon wing doors will not let the doors open because it senses the heat as an obstruction. It's frustrating, but I still enjoy driving it.

I recently test drove the Tesla when I was in the market for a new vehicle. Overall, I was impressed with the car, but as someone who is 6'4'', I found the interior room to be a bit lacking. Despite the lack of leg room, I still think the Tesla is a great car. If you're on the shorter side, this could be the perfect vehicle for you. However, if you're taller like me, you may want to keep searching for a car with more spacious interior.

The 2017 Model X has had some issues since I purchased it in July 2017. However, I have been able to enjoy its nice acceleration and quiet ride. Although the instrument panel is a bit strange, I am confident that the issues I have experienced will be resolved. While there have been some problems with start-up batteries, key fobs, light bulbs, and air leaks in the tires, I am confident that these issues will be resolved. In the event of a flat tire, I was disappointed to learn that neither the tow drivers nor the dealership had a spare tire available. However, I am confident that the dealership will be able to order a tire and resolve the issue in a timely manner. While there have been some delays in the promised updates and charging stations, I am confident that these will be resolved in due course. Overall, I believe that the Model X is a great car and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality vehicle.

The car can die while plugged in and unfortunately, the app will not notify you. If this happens, there is no way to unlock the car and jump it like a normal car. You may need to pay for professional assistance. It's best to live in an area with a Tesla dealership nearby, otherwise, you may need to pay for towing to a service center.

I recently purchased a Model X to replace my beloved Santa Fe Sport, which I had bought for $24,000. Although the Model X cost me $100,000, I was excited about the promises made by the salesperson. Let me tell you what I love about the car - the quick acceleration, excellent handling, and top-notch entertainment system and GPS. However, I was disappointed with some aspects of the car. I had purchased the completely self-driving package, which included a $3000 computer, but it took 14 months to install and is still not completely self-driving. The car uses a lot of energy, even for local use, which was unexpected. The updates that were supposed to increase functionality were not very useful, as they included video games instead of practical features. The sentry system, which records events on the car's cameras, did not work as expected and recorded events that did not happen. However, I was relieved that the damage from a recent incident buffed out. Although there are some issues with the car, I still enjoy driving it and appreciate its features.Forget about struggling with phone support. I had some issues with the sentry system draining my battery, but I found a solution. I now use the mobile service for repairs, which is a nice convenience. Although the technicians may not be the most knowledgeable, the wait time has decreased to about a week. I did have a few hiccups with scheduling repairs, but overall, the service has been satisfactory. While the car may not serve the purpose for which I bought it, I still use it when I need to carry more than two passengers or large payloads. However, my daily driver is now a 2020 Corvette, which is much more fun to drive and reliable. Although I have had some frustrations with the functionality of the Tesla, I have found helpful resources such as my neighbor who is an electrical engineer and has had Teslas since they first came out. It has been 2 1/2 years since I bought this car and I am still waiting for full self-driving, but overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my car and I want to share my experience with others. I have had several issues with my Tesla Model X, and scheduling service has been a challenge. Unfortunately, there is no option to speak to a live person and scheduling can take up to 2-3 weeks. The car has been in the Tesla service shop almost every month or two, which is very inconvenient. Although the car looks great and saves on gas, it has not been reliable. I have had issues with the side mirrors, front passenger door, control arms, HEPA filter, charging fuel latch, rear balancing, and both rear trunk buttons. As of 07/11/2022, the car is not even charging. I believe that the Model S, 3, and Y do not have the same issues as the X. I would advise anyone to stay away from this car unless you are willing to spend a lot of time bringing it to Tesla's service center.
