- Summary: 2008 Saturn vue AWD. Steering wheel is very difficult to turn while driving. There is a lot of resistance. No leaking fluid visible and no visible loss of fluid levels. Transmission was torn down/repaired in 2017 for metal bits present at 95,000 (approximate) miles. It is currently at 107,600 miles. Transmission gets stuck in lower gear and rpms Rev up without the vehicle gaining acceleration. The tear down/rebuild was due to bad 3 5 wave plate also and seems to be replicating the issue again. Check engine light comes on amd goes off intermittently and cannot get issue to replicate at the mechanics. Key has also gotten stuck in the barrel. Took almost 2 hours to try numerous ways to get it to release-also had to unlock manually on the door handle, none of the lights inside worked and when it was able to get started it was very slow and deliberate. Battery appeared to be dead but after jump starting and taking to have it checked, battery was found to be fine. These are serious concerns regarding the vehicle as 1 or all could cause serious damage to the driver and others on the road. It happened again today with the high rpms and low gear/not shifting to next gear.

- Summary: Vehicle seatbelt is fraying on driver side. Tried to cut off the fray, but realized it continues fraying everytime I use the belt. Have called multiple gm dealers as well as the 800 number for GM. From their info and checking websites, the parts for the seatbelts for this model vehicle have been discontinued. this includes the 2008-10 saturn vue and the 2010-2015 chevy captiva (which is the same car). I am shocked that I have to purchase replacement seatbelts from a junkyard or other used method. Seatbelts are something that I should have ability to replace new. Once GM dealer seemed concern and related that they thought that GM had to replace new ones. Another autoshop stated that this was a recall-type problem on some GM vehicles - but mine does not show this sort of thing. First noticed around 9/11/2023. Bought vehicle on 9/9/2023. Thought it was dog or cat hair until I educated myself online and realized the belt is slowly disintegrating.

Tried to start it and it still won't go anywhere. The check engine light is on, but it was not on before it stopped, or while being pushed back. I can't afford to have it towed anywhere right now to be checked out. The used dealership I bought the car from gave me an obd scanner. Transmission codes P0700 and P2723 came up.

Your gas mileage is impressive! It's great to hear that the handling is very good and that the AWD worked so well in such a snowy year. It's worth noting that the VUE was called back for a software upgrade and the battery in the OnStar died, but it's good to hear that there were no other problems.

I recently purchased a Vue to replace my high mileage Buick Rendezvous that was giving me trouble. Although it doesn't have as much interior space as my previous car, I was aware of this before purchasing. I find the Vue to be a joy to drive, with an engine that provides the necessary power without any complaints. The ride is smooth and quiet, and the controls are user-friendly. I'm getting an impressive 25-26MPG on the highway and 22MPG in town when the weather is above freezing. For winter, I invested in four Pirelli snow tires with steel wheels and sensors, which have been a game-changer on my FWD. The Firestone LE tires were terrible on snow and ice. Even with the remote starter use and slow traffic on snowy roads, my winter MPG has not dropped below 20MPG. So far, at 13,000 miles, the reliability has been perfect.

Hello! I wanted to share my positive experience with my vehicle, which I have driven for 30,000 miles. In my opinion, taking good care of a car is key to keeping it running smoothly. I have noticed that many people who complain about their vehicles are often those who neglect routine maintenance and mistreat their cars. However, I have never had any issues with my car and I am confident that it will continue to perform well. Living in the Chicago suburbs, I rely on my car a lot and it has never let me down. I absolutely adore this car! It is not only fast, but also has heated leather seats that I love. The exterior design is what initially caught my eye and I have owned 2 Chevrolets (Camaro, Cavalier) and a Buick LeSabre in the past, but this car is by far my favourite. I purchased my vehicle in 2015 with 117,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, the transmission gave out at 123,000 miles. Despite GM being aware of the issue with the 35r waveplate through class action lawsuits, they did not recall the affected vehicles. After Saturn owners filed their grievances with GM, they finally decided to repair the faulty transmissions up to 120,000 miles. However, mine gave out at 123,000 miles and GM would not assume any responsibility. I had to pay $4,300 out of pocket to replace the transmission. Although the updated transmission is not running too great, with lowered fuel mileage and acceleration, air conditioning problems, multiple battery replacements, power steering issues, and exhaust issues, I have spent more on repairs for this vehicle than what I paid for it. In contrast, I drove a Ford Explorer for 15 years and spent maybe $1000 in repairs for that vehicle. This will be my first and last GM vehicle.

The 08 Vue is a great car that handles curves with ease and has a sporty feel. While there are plenty of storage options, they may not be large enough to hold all of your necessities, such as sunglasses. Additionally, if you need to carry books, binders, or other school items, you may find that there is not enough room. However, the car still offers good gas mileage, averaging around 17 mpg.

This is my third and probably last Saturn. Although I loved the updated exterior, overall handling and vehicle feel of my new VUE XE, it has unfortunately been in the shop 4 times in 6 months due to various issues such as the tachometer, CD player, alternator, and electrical cluster failure. As a loyal Saturn customer for over 10 years, I am disappointed to say that I would not currently recommend the VUE to anyone. I simply cannot own an unreliable brand-new SUV. Previously, I owned the SL2 and L200 with no major troubles.

Although the car handles well and has fair mileage, the interior layout is very disappointing. The dashboard is difficult to read both at night and in bright sunlight, making it an ergonomic nightmare. If it were not under lease, I would have replaced it by now.

I purchased the 4 cylinder strictly for fuel economy and I am not seeing anywhere close to the 19/26 as promised. Even with the cruise set on the highway I am only getting 18 mpg. However, I am confident that this issue can be resolved and I will be able to achieve the promised fuel economy with the help of the manufacturer. Overall, I believe that this vehicle has great potential and I am looking forward to resolving this issue.
