- Summary: I have only 68,329 miles. My transmission lost reverse. When first driving it will only go up to 10 mph and over time the maximum speed is 30 to 40 mph. Even if it gets to this speed it hesitates. The car is a danger and not drive able. I took the car to a GM dealer requesting a Policy Evaluation according to the Service Bulletin Warranty. The evaluation showed GM will not help me with any repairs or replacement of transmission. A car should not have a major component fail like a transmission especially with such low mileage. It is expected to have maintenance and repairs on a vehicle. What is not expected or normal servicing is transmission repair or replacement. It was estimated from the GM dealerships Policy Evaluation it will cost $5,500 to replace the transmission. My car is in great shape other than the transmission failure. I love my car and anticipated to have this car many years. This is an unaffordable repair and essentially makes this a throw away car. I feel extremely disappointed in GM's decision to not remedy this major problem.

- Summary: Vehicle is a Saturn Vue XE, 3.5 liter AWD, ~84,000 miles. Problem Statement: Extensive corrosion of the subframe located at the midpoint of the vehicle on the driver and passenger sides. This is NOT surface rust - the frame corrosion has resulted in sections of the frame rotting through, severely compromising the structural integrity of the frame and safety of the vehicle. I have documented at least 6 formal complaints for the same problem from various websites, including some with front end and engine mounts cross members literally rotting away. My vehicle is only 12 years old and has only 7000 miles average miles per year but will not pass a safety inspection in Massachusetts due to the extensive rust through. The NHTSA has several corrosion related service bulletins documented involving several General Motors vehicle models but they only call out surface corrosion. The NHTSA needs to investigate FRAME RUST THROUGH on Saturn Vue and other GM vehicles as OWNERS ARE HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO REALIZE THE LOOMING SAFETY HAZARD if they have no other reason to inspect underneath the vehicle.

THEN WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF I WILL BE UNABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT OR TURN THE VEHICLE ON. I WILL HAVE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE AND THE ALTERNATOR TWICE AND THIS HELPED FOR 2 MONTHS THEN THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. I ALSO REPLACED THE WHEEL SENSORS TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE TAKEN TO 3 MECHANICS BUT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, I WILL TRY TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND THEN JUST TAP ON THE BRAIN COMPARTMENT ABOVE THE BATTERY AND SOMETIMES THIS WORKS. I HAVE BEEN LEFT STRANDED MORE THAN I CARE TO ADMIT. WHILE DRIVING IF THE ISSUES ARE REALLY BAD AND IF I HAVE TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCE I WILL TRY TO USE CRUISE CONTROLL BUT IT WILL NOT ENGAGE.

THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED VARIOUS OTHER FAILURES, INCLUDING A DRAINED BATTERY AND THE STABILITRAC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

I recently purchased a 2009 Vue with 90,000 miles. It's a super clean car with new tires and a well-serviced battery. However, it required a transmission, which is quite common for this mileage. Despite this, I still believe that this clean car with a fully rebuilt transmission represents excellent value and about a 50% discount to retail in my market. I plan on using it as a winter car for general transportation and occasional towing after fitting it with a trailer hitch. So far, it has been nearly flawless during the first winter. I only needed a new receiver for the door lock remote controls, but I love the way it works and drives. The quality is excellent, and it feels like a brand new car. Two years after writing my original review, not much has changed. There have been no mechanical repairs, only service. I updated the headlights to LED, and the car has proven to be very reliable. I use it for occasional towing, such as utility trailers and boats for short distances. All systems are functional, and the car still provides great value. Another two years have passed since my last update, and again, not one mechanical repair. The Vue has been perfectly reliable, and considering what it cost me, this vehicle does not owe me the time of day. It works perfectly well for my needs, and I can still sell it for more than it cost me to buy and put on the road.

I've only driven my new '09 VUE XE enough to exhaust a single tank of gas, but I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with this car. The upscale Euro styling, both inside and out, is simply unmatched within this price range. The fit, finish and interior materials are truly class-leading. The ride is solid, quiet, and smooth. I chose the 2.4L based on both cost and fuel economy and I don't regret the decision. While the 4 won't win you any races, it's more than adequate for both city and freeway driving. I moved from a Chevy Trailblazer to the VUE and I would trade the refinement of this ride over the TB's power any day.

Your Vue has excellent performance and handling, making it feel like a sports luxury vehicle. The fit and finish are great, and the interior is spacious enough for your family, including two young boys!

I'm so glad I waited over a year before making my purchase! The 2009 VUE XR has everything I could ever want in a car. It has a great smooth ride and excellent interior features. I love having everything at my fingertips. The exterior look of the 2009 is amazing, and all my neighbors do a double take because they can't believe it's a Saturn! Even though 99% of my miles are highway, the MPG isn't that big of a deal to me. The XR V-6 engine is powerful and smooth, and the shifting is so seamless that you can't even tell how fast you're going until you look at the speedometer. The ride in this car is like a luxury car! I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a new SUV.

My first impression is always about the looks. After my first drive, I was impressed by the solid performance and power of the vehicle. I really like it! I did consider the Mazda CX-7, but decided against it since it didn't have a turbo. As for the Honda, it looked a bit cheap to me, so I walked away. The Nissan Murano was nice, but too expensive. Overall, I'm thrilled with this vehicle and I'm happy to support American-made cars if they continue to produce vehicles like this!

The vehicle's build quality and engineering are substandard, and the spare tire placement is ineffective. The car shakes, rattles, and rolls, and the interior is made of cheap plastic. In comparison to other well-engineered vehicles in its class, there is much to be desired. It may be difficult to dispose of this vehicle, as it does not meet the standards of a well-engineered car.

I purchased a Vue last month, but unfortunately, I have not been satisfied with my experience so far. Within two weeks of receiving the brand new vehicle, the stabilitrak lights came on and it needed to be serviced. The service team informed me that it was a loose fuse and they fixed it. However, a week later, the same issue occurred again and they are unsure of the root cause. The bluetooth has also been problematic, as people have difficulty hearing me and the clock disappears when I'm using it. Additionally, the cupholders have been a source of frustration as they are fixed in a way that makes it difficult to access cups from the top, causing spills. Furthermore, the design of the cupholders makes it impossible to fit two cups in them.

Additionally, the starter has recently malfunctioned at only 50,000 miles. The vehicle's fuel efficiency is also subpar compared to other SUVs in its class. As a result of these ongoing problems, I have lost faith in Saturn and GM's commitment to standing by their products. Furthermore, the limited passenger space is a notable drawback when compared to similar vehicles.
