The Ram pickup (marketed as the Dodge Ram until 2010) is a full-size pickup truck manufactured by Stellantis North America (formerly Chrysler Group LLC and FCA US LLC) and marketed from 2010 onwards under the Ram Trucks brand. The current fifth-generation Ram debuted at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, in January of that year.
Previously, Ram was part of the Dodge line of light trucks. The name Ram was first used in 1981 model year Dodge Trucks in October 1980, following the retiring and rebadging of the Dodge D series pickup trucks as well as B-series vans, though the company had used a ram's-head hood ornament on some trucks as early as 1933.
Ram trucks have been named Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year eight times; the second-generation Ram won the award in 1994, the third-generation Ram heavy-duty won the award in 2003, the fourth-generation Ram Heavy Duty won in 2010 and the fourth-generation Ram 1500 won in 2013 and 2014, and the current fifth-generation Ram pickup became the first truck in history to win the award three times, winning in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

What an amazing truck! I love the Powerwagon model. It has more power than I need, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it. The ride is so smooth, whether I'm towing or just driving around town.

I have owned both a 2021 1500 built to serve and a 2015 Outdoorsman, both with the 5.7 engine. They were both extremely nice, and the 1500 in particular was amazing from a comfort standpoint, both while driving and in the interior. However, when towing my new trailer (6700 lbs total/800 lbs tongue weight), although it was adequate for towing and within specs, I was never able to fully relax in the relationship between the truck and the trailer. So, I upgraded to a 2500 6.4 Hemi and my towing issues were solved. The truck has great power, always feels planted and in control over the trailer, and I am much less stressed after a day's drive. Speaking to the 2019 later models, they are quite a bit better than the 2500 from a pure comfort standpoint. The new 1500's have a bigger rear seat area (crew cab), which my dogs love. In terms of fit and finish and interior amenities, they are equal, but the ride of a 2500 is definitely more like a TRUCK, stiffer and bouncier. The size of the 2500 crosses a line for me as a daily driver. A 1500 rides like an upscale SUV, while the 2500 rides like an extremely well put together TRUCK. I don't drive mine as a daily driver and have a Jeep Renegade for that, so the truck is for transfer station duties and light off-roading, mostly under 10K a year miles. If you want comfort and a daily driver and don't tow daily or even weekly, go with a 1500 every day. If you tow at 6K or more and 800 to a thousand lbs tongue weight or virtually ANY fifth wheel, go for the 2500. If you tow daily or weekly at 6K up, go for the 2500/3500 diesel. In addition, the extra length and dimensions make parking a new experience over the 1500. A line is crossed. I'd also recommend getting the parking sensors and towing mirrors at least for that blind spot on a 1500 or 2500/3500. Blind spot monitoring would be my preferred option. Update: About a year later and 10K miles over half towing, I still love the 2500.For my needs, the Hemi was the perfect choice as it provides plenty of power for towing. It would be great to see the next generation 2500/3500 improved along the lines of the fifth generation 1500, but the ride is still relatively luxurious. I love the feeling of being in control on the road with the truck, which allows for a more relaxed towing experience. Surprisingly, the mileage while towing is in the same range as the 1500, even at higher speeds. I added an aftermarket bumper with a winch fab fours matrix and I highly recommend getting the OEM retractable side steps or aftermarket versions. It's been a year since I bought my truck and the MSRP has increased by 10K, making my deal a great one in comparison, along with the low 3.24% interest rate. However, due to high costs and interest rates in mid-2023, prices are now breaking, so you might be able to get a decent deal again.

1 year and 10 months later, we have 31 thousand miles on it. The truck runs and drives like a dream. I have had no problems whatsoever. I regularly change the oil myself using Pennzoil 0W 40 KN oil filter and rotate the tires at the dealer or local tire shop, whichever is more convenient. I have absolutely zero regrets and would buy this truck all over again. It's a wonderful truck! Everything works as expected, and the Uconnect 5 auto updates automatically, which is really neat. I can't say enough good things about it. I have the Laramie, and the interior is amazing. It's truly the luxury of trucks. We chose the Hemi instead of the Cummins, and it sounds great with a nice rumble to it. We also chose the 4.10 gears instead of the 3.73 for better towing and pep. However, like with any gear upgrade, there is a slight decrease in gas mileage, about 2 mpg. The truck drives nicely, and my wife was surprised at how well it takes the curves of our county roads. Make sure you get running boards! I'm 5'10

I was in need of a work truck that could also serve as a daily driver for my family of four. The 2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman was the perfect fit for me as it met all my requirements. Even though it is an entry-level trim, I was able to add some creature comforts to the cab, such as an upgraded entertainment center screen with Android Auto. The cloth seats, rubber mats, heated mirrors and rear window, and sliding rear window were also great additions. The truck I purchased also had a nice chrome upgrade that made the steel wheels look even better. Compared to the F250 XL I drove, the Ram 2500 Tradesman felt like a luxury truck and was also about $4k less expensive. I have owned all the major brands, including a Honda Ridgeline, but in 2021, Ram easily had the truck that best met my needs at the right price.

I purchased my 2022 truck brand new, but unfortunately, it broke down after only 150 miles (which I have documented). The salesman who sold it to me advised me to take it to the nearest dealer, but they were unable to look at it for 2 weeks. The truck ended up staying parked at the dealership for 4 of the first 6 months of ownership. Although Dodge replaced the radio 3 times and the brake controller twice, the truck still has many issues, including trailer brake wiring, transmission shifting, radio, psi, and electrical problems. Recently, it has also started making lifter noises in the engine. We attempted to force a buyback, but because we had driven 15,000 miles, they were going to deduct around 11K from the buyback. However, they did offer us 4K and a Non-Disclosure Agreement if we chose to keep the truck. I cannot agree to a muzzle law, and I don't believe that 4K will fix the problem if they haven't been able to repair it in a year. I am disappointed in Dodge and their lack of concern for their customers and the defective products they sell. Best regards, Quinn.

I noticed that the headroom is quite limited and the seats don't adjust down, which can be uncomfortable for taller drivers. Additionally, there is a sloping bump that can be a bit of a nuisance.
