2022 Ram 2500 problems

The Ram pickup (marketed as the Dodge Ram until 2010) is a full-size pickup truck manufactured by Stellantis North America (formerly Chrysler Group LLC and FCA US LLC) and marketed from 2010 onwards under the Ram Trucks brand. The current fifth-generation Ram debuted at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, in January of that year.
Previously, Ram was part of the Dodge line of light trucks. The name Ram was first used in 1981 model year Dodge Trucks in October 1980, following the retiring and rebadging of the Dodge D series pickup trucks as well as B-series vans, though the company had used a ram's-head hood ornament on some trucks as early as 1933.
Ram trucks have been named Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year eight times; the second-generation Ram won the award in 1994, the third-generation Ram heavy-duty won the award in 2003, the fourth-generation Ram Heavy Duty won in 2010 and the fourth-generation Ram 1500 won in 2013 and 2014, and the current fifth-generation Ram pickup became the first truck in history to win the award three times, winning in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

1 year and 10 months later, we have 31 thousand miles on it. The truck runs and drives like a dream. I have had no problems whatsoever. I regularly change the oil myself using Pennzoil 0W 40 KN oil filter and rotate the tires at the dealer or local tire shop, whichever is more convenient. I have absolutely zero regrets and would buy this truck all over again. It's a wonderful truck! Everything works as expected, and the Uconnect 5 auto updates automatically, which is really neat. I can't say enough good things about it. I have the Laramie, and the interior is amazing. It's truly the luxury of trucks. We chose the Hemi instead of the Cummins, and it sounds great with a nice rumble to it. We also chose the 4.10 gears instead of the 3.73 for better towing and pep. However, like with any gear upgrade, there is a slight decrease in gas mileage, about 2 mpg. The truck drives nicely, and my wife was surprised at how well it takes the curves of our county roads. Make sure you get running boards! I'm 5'10

I was in need of a work truck that could also serve as a daily driver for my family of four. The 2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman was the perfect fit for me as it met all my requirements. Even though it is an entry-level trim, I was able to add some creature comforts to the cab, such as an upgraded entertainment center screen with Android Auto. The cloth seats, rubber mats, heated mirrors and rear window, and sliding rear window were also great additions. The truck I purchased also had a nice chrome upgrade that made the steel wheels look even better. Compared to the F250 XL I drove, the Ram 2500 Tradesman felt like a luxury truck and was also about $4k less expensive. I have owned all the major brands, including a Honda Ridgeline, but in 2021, Ram easily had the truck that best met my needs at the right price.

I have been towing a 7K loaded trailer with an 850 tongue weight for about 18 months now, covering 17K miles with 50% towing. Initially, I did not want a diesel, but the 1500 I had was not powerful enough for towing. However, my 22 Laramie has been perfect for my needs, including light off-roading and transfer station home projects duty. Although I wish they would expand the cab like they did with the 1500, this truck is perfect for power and towing. Moreover, the gas mpg's are not that much different than the 1500, particularly when towing. So far, I have not encountered any issues. I opted for the Billet Silver, which looks great all the time, unlike my wife's Cherokee, which looks beautiful for only 15 minutes after a wash. The truck tows the weight of my trailer like a dream, and I have 3K payload and 15K max tow. I get 8.2 mpg at about 70mph while towing and 15-17 on the highway. The truck loves the highway but hates city driving. However, this has improved with new KO2's over the OEM Firestone Transforce tires. I love the stability while towing, and the truck is always in charge. The interior (bucket seats) console is very nice, and I have the 8.4 screen, which I prefer. Although I am mixed on the new Uconnect, the off-road screens for the 4X4 package are fantastic. I have the Snow chief package with the bigger alternator and really love the auxiliary switches for the aftermarket spots in front. I live in Deer Country, and they are a savior, along with the aftermarket front Fab Four Matrix front bumper and rough country rear. The only downside is that it's a beast and not made to be a daily driver. Fortunately, I have a Renegade for that. Overall, I am very happy with my truck. It would be great if the bed step was included as an OEM feature for all HD's. I added one myself (an Amazon/OEM knock off) for only $275 and it took me just 30 minutes. With your economies of scale, I'm sure you could do even better. I suggest putting it on Ram. I'm happy that I made the purchase when I did, as the MSRP has increased by almost 10K for an almost identical build. However, I'm starting to see big incentives again, so they are going back towards the price I paid in Feb 2022. Although, it's unlikely that you'll get the same interest rates that I did for sure.

I am looking for something to pull my travel trailer. This truck would do nicely.

This truck is not only very capable, but it also comes with tons of extras that make it feel like a luxury vehicle. The price is also quite decent for what you get.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have been experiencing with your truck. It sounds like you have had a very frustrating experience with the vehicle and the dealerships you have visited. I hope that you are able to find a resolution to these issues soon. If there is anything I can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to let me know.

We have been experiencing some issues with the transmission of our 2022 RAM diesel truck, which has been at the dealership since November waiting for its 3rd transmission despite having only 11,000 miles on the engine. Unfortunately, we have not received any clear information on when the issue will be resolved. As first-time RAM truck owners, we are disappointed with the situation. We would advise against purchasing a RAM diesel truck at this time due to the transmission problems.

I've only been driving my brand new 2500 Tradesman Diesel for a day and a half when I encountered an issue. Unfortunately, it wouldn't go into reverse and the check engine light came on. After some searching, I was able to find a dealer who could help me out without having to wait for a week. However, it turned out that the solenoid pack wasn't the only thing that was faulty. There were metal shards all throughout the transmission. I've been waiting for a week now for Ram to authorize a new transmission, and it will take at least another week to get it shipped. It looks like it will be close to an entire month before I can drive it again. I'm a bit concerned about what other issues I might have to deal with, but I'm hopeful that everything will work out in the end.

I really enjoy my Ram Truck! This is actually my third 2500 Crew with the Cummins diesel. While this one seems to have slightly less power and lower fuel mileage (about 3 mpg less) than my previous 2500, it still performs well. I have noticed that it uses twice as much DEF, but that's not a major issue for me. Unfortunately, I did have a recall shortly after purchasing the truck. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, but I did have a negative experience with the dealer. It's worth noting that this review doesn't have the option to select the 6.7 I-6 Cummins Diesel, which is the engine my truck is equipped with.

I recently purchased a RAM 2500 Limited. While there are some aspects of the truck that I am not entirely satisfied with, such as the rough ride due to the RAM Air suspension and the hard seats, I have also encountered some issues with the back up sensors not detecting the receiver hitch. Additionally, the truck's design makes it difficult to fit a larger tool box. Overall, I have had some challenges with this truck, but I am hopeful that these issues can be resolved.
