WHILE RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM I FOUND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON AND THERE IS MUCH WRITTEN ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN SEVERAL AUTO FORUMS, BUT GM HAS NOT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE WITH A RECALL. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND HAD COMPLAINED TO ME ABOUT THE PROBLEM WHICH I DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE UNTIL SHE WAS FOLLOWING ME AT NIGHT AND I SAW THAT HER HEADLIGHTS WERE EXTREMELY DIM. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS, WHY HASN'T THIS PROBLEM BEEN ADDRESSED. NO QUESTIONS, NO CONFIRMATION OTHER THAN THE AUTOMATIC REPLY, NO CALLS, NOTHING. I FEEL LIKE WE ARE GETTING SHAFTED ON THIS ISSUE AND I DON'T THINK PONTIAC IS TAKING THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY! - Summary: DORMAN PRODUCTS IS RECALLING 3,900 INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFTS DORMAN PART NOS. 425-151, 425-152, AND 425-153, (SOLD UNDER DORMAN'S "OE SOLUTIONS" BRAND NAME), BALKAMP #'S 7-3057, 7-3058, 7-3059 (SOLD UNDER THE "NAPA" BRAND NAME), AND PLATINUM PARTS #'S 2425151, 2425152, AND 2425153 MANUFACTURED DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2007. THESE REPLACEMENT STEERING SHAFTS CAN BE USED ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. THE WELD CONNECTING THE INNER TUBE TO THE OUTER TUBE MAY BE DEFECTIVE.

- Consequence: IN A SEVERE CRASH, THE UPPER SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE MAY SEPARATE. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SEAT BELT COULD THEN BE REDUCED AND THE OCCUPANT COULD RECEIVE GREATER INJURIES.

Just got this car after nine years of minivans. No comparison in interior size, of course, and the minivans had many more conveniences, but I really like driving this car, and I think it looks cool. Mine is orange.

I'm glad to hear that you've had no problems with your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire since you bought it. Although the gas mileage has been a minor disappointment, it's great to hear that it has been close to 30 mpg in both highway and town driving. While it may be too small for a family, it's perfect for just you and your young son. I hope you have lots of fun with the sunroof in the summer!

As a taller than average male, you might be concerned about purchasing this vehicle. However, the many advantages of owning this car outweigh this small inconvenience. The style, options, fuel efficiency, and affordability are all pluses that make this economy vehicle worth considering. I have always loved Pontiac, and they have held true to their name, even on this entry-level vehicle.

I really appreciate the way this little car looks and drives. It's so much more fun than any of the other cars I've driven and for some reason it feels more powerful than the others. Plus, it's dirt cheap and perfect for everyday driving.

Although the Sunfire and similar Chevrolet Cavalier may be considered basic transportation, it's important to note that they are outdated and may not be the most comfortable option. The Sunfire sedan has been discontinued, and the coupe received a face lift for 2003. However, the Sunfire's secure handling is a plus. While ABS is no longer standard, the car still offers a decent ride. The four-cylinder engine may be a bit buzzy, but it gets the job done. The front seats are thinly padded and may lack support on long journeys, but they are still comfortable. The rear seat is a bit cramped and may require some maneuvering to access. Interior fit and finish could be improved, but overall it's a decent car. It's important to note that the Celica is also a great option to consider.

I was in the market for a car and was considering various options such as Civic's, Scion's and others. However, I came across GM's announcement of a $4000 rebate on their car which was not on my radar before. I am pleased to say that the engine performs exceptionally well, making it easy to navigate through mountains while also providing good mileage. Although the fit and finish is fair, the seats are uncomfortable and the room inside is poor. On the bright side, the handling is very good and it's fun to drive. The styling is unique and sets it apart from other cars. However, it's important to note that the resale value is not great. Overall, it may not be the best option as a new car, but it's definitely a steal as a used car.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and I must say, the resale value is not great. Despite being only 4 years old, having only 47,000 miles, and being in excellent shape, I was only offered $3800 from dealers. I would advise you to be cautious when considering this car. It's a great car, but unfortunately, the value depreciates quickly. Just thought you should know.

We have experienced some issues with this car since we purchased it. Unfortunately, the motor mount broke in half which caused damage to the axles. Safety is a top priority for us, and we are grateful that no one was hurt. Although we have brought the car in for service three times, the hood is still loose on one side, and the dealership has been unable to replace it. Additionally, we noticed that the trunk was leaking just two days after we got the car, and upon inspection, a wire coat hanger was found inside the wall, which was puzzling. We believe that the car has some defects, but we have not received any assistance from Pontiac. We hope that they will take responsibility for the issues before anyone gets hurt.
