Plymouth Voyager is a nameplate for a range of vans that were marketed by the Plymouth division of Chrysler. From 1974 until 1983, the Voyager was a full-size van, sold as the counterpart of Dodge Sportsman (later the Dodge Ram Wagon). Starting with the 1984 model year, the Voyager was marketed as one of the new Chrysler minivan, along with the Dodge Caravan. As a minivan, there were three generations of the Voyager from 1984 until 2000. Following the closure of the Plymouth division in 2000, the Voyager was marketed under the Chrysler brand as a lower-trim version of the Chrysler Town & Country through 2003.
From 1988 through 2016, Chrysler used the Chrysler Voyager name for export-market minivans; during the existence of the Plymouth brand, export-market Voyagers were produced with the body and trim of the Dodge Caravan. Including the Plymouth Voyager and Dodge Caravan with their rebadged Chrysler, Lancia, and Volkswagen variants, the Chrysler minivans collectively rank as the 13th best-selling automotive model line worldwide.
The Plymouth Voyager minivan was assembled by Chrysler at its Windsor Assembly facility in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; from 1987 to 2000, the Voyager was also assembled at Saint Louis Assembly in Fenton, Missouri (North plant from 1987 through 1995; South plant from 1996 until 2000).
The full-size Plymouth Voyager van was assembled from 1974 until 1983 at the Pillette Road Truck Assembly in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and at the St. Louis North Assembly Plant in Fenton, Missouri.

- Summary: THIS LETTER IS REGARDING A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE 2000 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER AND 2000 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS. *BF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLES IN WET WEATHER. WHEN IT RAINS AND THE DRIVER GOES THROUGH WATER, THE VEHICLES SHUT THEMSELVES DOWN COMPLETELY. LIGHTS TURN OFF, POWER STEERING IS ARRESTED, AND THE DRIVER HAS TO COAST TO A STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TO MY PARENTS, AND MORE THAN ONCE, THEY HAVE HAD TO SECURE THE SERVICES OF A TOWING COMPANY TO GET THE VEHICLE(S) HOME OR TO A REPAIR SHOP. SO I TURNED THE VAN OFF AND I CALLED A FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC AND HE ASKED ME IF THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON EVEN AFTER I TURNED THE VAN ON AND OFF I SAID YES THEN I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO HIM. HE TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO TRY MY CRUISE CONTROL. AND IF IT DID NOT WORK THEN MY CLOCKSPRING IS GONE. WELL CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK. AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS STILL ON.

IF THE INCORRECT NUT WAS TO BECOME LOOSE, THE JOINING MEMBERS MAY LOOSEN LEADING TO A SEPARATION OF THE BALL JOINT. THIS MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
- Remedy: FEDERAL MOGUL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE PARTS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 22, 2008. OWNERS CAN CONTACT FEDERAL MOGUL AT 877-489-6659.

This is my first time purchasing a minivan and I must say, it has been quite impressive! The car has a lot of room, great parking, and wonderful pick up. I would definitely consider buying another one in the future.

The car is in excellent condition and comes with Cruise Control, A/T PS, AM/FM Stereo, and A/C. It's comfortable to drive and handles like a new car. Additionally, it has new front axles, new struts, and new tires all around.

I have been driving this car for 10 years, shuttling kids to games, stuffing it with people and gear for long distance trips, and doing local errands. Now that I'm downsizing (no more kids at home!), I'm surprised to find that smaller cars do not offer the same level of comfort as a minivan. This car has a smooth ride, great seating, and excellent visibility. It's also a great vehicle for teaching teens to drive, with plenty of storage space. I have not experienced any reliability issues other than the usual wear and tear.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with this vehicle. I purchased it as a Program car with only 73 miles on it, and it was first used at the MCI golf tournament. Since then, I've put 144K miles on it and I'm happy to report that I'm still on the first transmission! I've had a few minor issues, such as the water pump, tensioner, and brakes needing to be replaced (twice), and the wipers having a mind of their own at times. However, I recently replaced the wiper motor and everything is working great now. Unfortunately, the lock on the right sliding door stopped working, but I'm not too worried about it since I'll never get locked out this way! Overall, this van has been a great family car for trips. As someone in the military, I've taken many trips and this van has made them all very bearable. Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience!

I purchased this vehicle in August 2002 with 38,000 miles and there are many things to appreciate about it. The styling is great, the interior is very comfortable, and it has decent fuel economy and overall performance. However, I did experience some issues with the transmission, which unfortunately failed catastrophically at 61,000 miles and cost me $3,000 to repair. Despite being meticulous about maintenance, I received no help from Chrysler in this matter. Additionally, the cruise control stopped working and the front suspension has required numerous parts to be replaced, although it still makes troubling 'clunking' noises over bumps. While I love the way Chrysler products look and drive, I feel it's important to warn others about the poor quality control.

I purchased this vehicle at 70,000 miles and unfortunately experienced some issues during my 3 years of ownership. However, I must say that the lifters had just been rebuilt which was a great start. We did have to replace the serpentine belt 9 times, the power steering pump, the water pump, the fuel pump, the key ignition because the key would not turn, (the locksmith said he replaces at least 1 a week on these vehicles), crank sensor, map sensor, leaking valve cover gaskets, the cd player, the passenger seat would not lay back, the power windows get stuck, and the van smoked constantly. The acceleration was also poor. Unfortunately, the timing belt broke causing engine failure due to poor engine design, which was a major setback. I have had to have this van towed countless times and have been stranded more times than imaginable. Although I have had a difficult experience with this vehicle, I appreciate the opportunity to share my experience and hope that it can be helpful to others in making their own decisions.
