Why did Plymouth cars fail?
The demise of Plymouth was due to lackluster cars that were similar to other models offered by other brands in the group, although Chrysler Group had a few tricks up their sleeves with the new PT Cruiser being planned to revive the Plymouth brand.
Why did Plymouth stop?
It's all about the money. As staid as it may sound, the answer has nothing to do with corporate intrigue, malfeasance from competitors, or even cars so bad it killed the brand, even if the Plymouth Prowler didn't help much. Plymouth went the way of the dodo for one simple reason: Money.
Was Plymouth a success or a failure?
Though Plymouth would never develop as robust an economy as later settlements—such as Massachusetts Bay Colony—agriculture, fishing and trading made the colony self-sufficient within five years after it was founded. Many other European settlers followed in the Pilgrims' footsteps to New England.

- Summary: DROVE THE CAR TO A RESTAURANT FOR DINNER. PARKED THE CAR AND WENT INTO THE RESTAURANT. APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES LATER I SAW A FIRE TRUCK IN THE AREA OF MY VEHICLE. AFTER WATCHING FOR A MOMENT I REALIZED THERE WAS SMOKE BILLOWING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER THE FIREMEN OPENED THE HOOD I COULD SEE THAT SEVERAL COMPONENTS WERE MELTED AS WELL AS SEE SOME FIRE. AFTER I GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A SECURE ENVIRONMENT I CONTACTED A PLYMOUTH DEALERSHIP, WHO GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER OF ANOTHER PARTY OUT OF STATE. - Summary: I DROVE MY CAR FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR TO A INTERVIEW FOR A JOB, IT TOOK ME MAYBE 20 MINUTES TO GET THERE AND 20 MINUTES TO GET BACK HOME. I PARKED MY CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY WENT IN TO THE HOUSE 5 TO 7 MINUTES AFTER I RETURNED HOME THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. THANK GOD I WASN'T IN IT WHEN IT CAUGHT FIRE. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT THEY PUT THE FIRE OUT. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURING COMPANY THAT MADE THE CAR AND THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT TO THE LOCATION WHERE THE CAR WAS LEFT BURNT TO A CRISP. A WEEK LATER I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THEM TELLING ME IT WASN'T THERE FAULT. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I GOT A RECALL NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL TELLING ME THE CAR WAS ON RECALL FOR THE VERY SAME REASON IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. II AM STILL BEING TOLD THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO. THIS IS THE REASON WHY THIS COUNTRY IS IN THE SHAPE WE ARE IN NOW BECAUSE BIG COMPANY'S SUCH AS CHRYSLER CAN SELL ANYTHING THEY WANT TO THE CONSUMER AND GET AWAY WITH A SLAP ON THE WRIST. THEY DON'T HAVE TO REPLACE MY CAR OR HELP TO REPLACE IT. IT IS NOT RIGHT OR IS IT FAIR TO THE CONSUMER WHEN YOU TRUST THESE COMPANIES WITH YOUR LIFE AND BUY THIS GARBAGE THEY THROW TOGETHER AND WE UNKNOWINGLY BUY IT THINKING IT SAFE TO DRIVE. WHAT HAPPENED TO FOR THE PEOPLE, I GUESS AS LONG AS YOU ARE RICH YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T AFFECT THE WRONG PEOPLE. WHO IS LOOKING OUT FOR THE LITTLE PEOPLE WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST. I HOPE THAT WHAT I EXPERIENCED WAS NOT WHAT THE FIBER OF THIS COUNTRY STANDS BY. INSTEAD OF RECEIVING BIG BONUSES THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE SURE THAT THERE PRODUCT WAS SAFE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. *TR

Hi there! Thank you for considering my car. It has been well-maintained and has a lot of life left in it. With only one previous owner, it has been driven 122,000 miles and has had no major mechanical problems. The 2.4 L engine runs great, although it can be a little sluggish with the AC on. It gets 20 city/26 hwy, which is pretty good for a car of its age. I have serviced the cooling system, transmission, belts & hoses, and given it a tune-up as recommended. The only major item that needed to be repaired/replaced was the fuel pump. The body is still solid and there is almost no rust, which is impressive for a Minnesota car. Let me know if you have any questions!
-
Great to hear that your Plymouth is still running smoothly after 90,000 kms! It's always exciting to consider purchasing another one in the near future.
-
About to eclipse 100 thousand miles, but only had to do oil leaks and brakes. It could be more comfortable.
-
My Breeze has been a fantastic car and an excellent value. I did experience a minor issue with the car at 55,000 miles when the input speed sensor needed to be replaced. However, the repair was completed quickly and at a minimal cost, with only half a day spent in the shop.
-
We bought the car new and absolutely loved it during the 6 years we had it. Although we had one issue with the head gasket, it was quickly resolved under warranty. Even after 6 years, the car still felt brand new with its super-tight steering. The 2.4L engine provided great gas mileage and made the car zippy and fun to drive. Unfortunately, the resale value was not as high as we had hoped, and when it was rear-ended, the cost of repairs exceeded the car's value, resulting in it being declared a total loss.

I hope I have enough space. Within the last 4 months, I have had to repair the rear brake hoses which involved replacing the rear brakes, the r/r speed sensor, the blown head gaskets, the blower resistor, the cracked exhaust manifold, the RPM sensor, and the serpentine belt (which has been replaced twice). Unfortunately, the majority of these repairs have been very expensive. As a result, I am quite disappointed in this car and in Plymouth (who I once cherished).

Although my car had less than 40,000 miles on it, the transmission failed. Despite the dealership taking over two months to solve the problems that arose after the replacement, the car still does not run as smoothly as our Ford 6 cyl. Additionally, it only gets good, but not great gas mileage, and has a rough idle. In my experience, I would not choose to purchase another 4 cyl. vehicle.

The car has 97,000 miles on it and is still running great. Although I had some problems with the head gasket at 70,000 miles, Chrysler fixed it for me. However, I still had to pay around $300 for the repair, which I believe should have been covered by Chrysler due to the defective gaskets they produced. Overall, it's a pretty good car for the cost, but I would still advise people to stay away from Plymouth's.

I have owned my Breeze since 1999, when it was brand new. Over the past five years, I have invested over $4000 in repairs, including a new head gasket, transmission repairs, and oil and transmission fluid leaks. It is important to ensure that all necessary repairs have been completed before purchasing a used Breeze, as this model tends to require frequent repairs within the first 90000 miles.

I appreciate the aesthetics of the car. However, it has experienced multiple issues such as the a/c malfunctioning twice, head gasket and rear brake cylinders replacement, heater coil issues, and now the transmission is making unusual noises and burning oil. Despite these challenges, I am determined to pay off the car before the transmission fails completely.
