- Summary: The issue that I am experiencing has been intermittent, however it seems to be a safety concern that Nissan is not taking seriously. As I am driving at any speed with no cars around me the car collision icon will come on and flash as well as the front portion of the car in the advanced driver assistant system will flash yellow. This has happened on more than one occasion, but will always go away eventually. I believe that my safety is at risk because what if I was driving with my cruise control on and this occurred, would it slam on my brakes causing an accident? It has not been duplicated by the dealership that I have taken my car to however I have been able to record it several times when it occurred. There are no other warning lights that come up when this occurs, however I have codes that show that some of my radar sensors are not functioning properly. Nissan has not done anything about this issue and has dismissed it as a common problem with the vehicle when it clearly is a safety issue.

- Summary: If the vehicle stalls when starting or depressing the clutch too fast, the vehicle will sometimes enter a low power (limp mode), where the driver can floor the accelerator and the car will barely accelerate. The absolutely max speed when this happens seems to be around 55 and it takes 30 seconds to reach this speed. Turning the car off and letting it sit for 15 seconds, and then restarting the car seems to fix the problem. This has happened to me 3 times over the past 2 years.

- Summary: My 2022 Nissan Versa manual transmission: there have been times after starting the vehicle or after the vehicle has stalled and been restarted where the engine goes into a limp mode. That is, pressing on the accelerator will increase RPMS on the engine but there is very little torque generated to move the vehicle. This has created a risk of accident when trying to accelerate for a merge or other time sensitive maneuver. I took the vehicle to the dealer and found that the clutch was burned out. This was after 42k miles. The vehicle has a hill assist that will prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards when you take your foot off the break and before you engage the transmission. I believe the limp mode is tide to this problem. I later discovered that if you turn off the car and take the key out of the ignition, upon restart the problem goes away. This leads me to believe that it is a computer problem and the restart of the vehicle reboots the computer and corrects the problem. I asked the dealership about it and they said they were not aware of any recalls (which was not what I asked). There were no warning lamps or messages from the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection however, I do need to get it fixed so if NHTSA wants to look at it please let me know as soon as possible.

I was able to get it to the dealership that day but they said it was fine and insisted I had been in the wrong gear. I knew this was not the case so when it happened again [XXX] I took a video of it in limp mode and took it to Mike Rezi Nissan the next day. They said they could find nothing wrong with it and told me we’d hear from someone but we are still waiting. - Summary: On two separate occasions while driving at night two weeks apart, the car dash lights went out, power dropped real quickly, steering became hard. Barely got off overpass and road to safety. Turned the car off. Waited approximately 5 minutes and car restarted and was fine for two weeks. On second time had the car towed to Fred Haas Nissan. They could not reproduce problem and found no codes. Will have to chance driving until happens again. Very dangerous as I would have been hit if not for no traffic. In December 2022 had minor bumper collision. The collision sign had already been on for about three months. Now the sensor is damaged. However, no problems a year later until now. This is a new problem and hope to get it resolved. Very dangerous.

- Summary: This manual car puts itself into limp mode any time the engine is killed (If you drop the clutch too quickly because it is a manual transmission) while driving it. Once it is in limp mode (restricted speed and power to protect the engine) it must be pulled over and turned off for at least 15 seconds before restarting the vehicle to reset the computer and get it out of limp mode. This is a huge safety hazard in traffic, on a hill, on a freeway on ramp or many other places. This car has put itself in limp mode when it died from dropping the clutch, when it almost died while working the clutch, and when turned off and back on quickly to reset a bluetooth connection that wasn't working. A Nissan corporate regional representative, Nissan specialist and Nissan Engineer evaluated the car and said that it is a manufacturing defect - a programming issue that makes the electronic control module think that the car is not functioning properly when it dies (it happens sometimes when driving a manual transmission!) and so it puts itself into limp mode to protect the engine from a problem that doesn't exist. Nissan said the vehicle code would need reprogrammed to repair the issue. Nissan also said they have no time frame for reprogramming the code to repair the defect and to just wait--with no timeline forthcoming. This is an issue on all 2022 Manual Nissan Versa vehicles, not just this particular car as it is a programming issue. I contacted another dealership to test one of their new 2022 manual versa vehicles. They drove it and found the exact issue. I do not know if the issue was fixed on 2023 models or if it is and ongoing issue. Nissan has acknowledged the issue. Driving this car is unsafe and Nissan has said to just drive it and wait.

I really like the 2021 Versa because it's such a versatile vehicle. The handling is awesome and the fuel economy is outstanding. But what I love the most has to be the technology built into this compact car. It has the technology of higher-end cars, which makes it one of the safest and most reliable vehicles in the market for its class. Nissan has done a great job with the Versa, offering a good product at a fair price. If you're looking for a safe, affordable, and fuel-efficient car (especially with the price of gas these days), you can't go wrong with the Nissan Versa. I highly recommend it!

Many car brands have discontinued their small cars such as Yaris and Fit, in favour of compact SUVs. I have tested a range of new and used cars including Cruze, Fit, Yaris, and Accent, but nothing could match the Versa. The Versa boasts a large trunk, good back seat space, clear front view, zero gravity front seats, tons of safety features, auto temperature, advanced CVT with very good MPG, ample soundproofing, fingertip easy steering for long commutes and easy parking, no key or fob needed in hand - just press the button on the handle to lock and unlock, remote engine start with cabin cooling/heating to preset temperature, USB charging ports, android/iPhone integration, and a very compliant suspension for the weight class (2600lbs~). The Yaris hatch and sedan have a years-old design and are noisier with fewer safety features. The Fit has a small trunk and the Accent's seats can't adjust high enough for short drivers, with harder/tougher buttons and controls. The Civic is too low and has an unappealing design. In summary, the Versa is the 2020 small car benchmark for Los Angeles commutes and families. It has more than enough trunk space for groceries and strollers with the kids strapped in the back. None of that silly hatchback must-fold-down-the-seats to fit a grocery cart's worth of bags. Some may prefer sporty German luxury car steering feel and acceleration, but the Versa is not designed for that purpose. The fingertip light steering, which some may say is numb, has enough feel to know where the car is, and electric steering drops the resistance at slow speeds to make super easy turning lock to lock parking in tight spaces. You'd have to wrestle the wheel on other cars. At speed, the steering tightens up and the lane detection, forward collision, side collision, and such keeps you heading home after a long day in rush hour without much effort.The tight direct steering of the 92 era Sentra was great, but the Versa is designed for today's reality where long commutes can take 2-3 hours. While the Sport mode and button may not be necessary for a small car like this, the built-in instantaneous and average mpg features are really nice for trying to ecomodder . com a 50+mpg commute. The distance in miles remaining in gas is also a nice feature. The cvt is really nicely tuned for high mpg as long as you accelerate sensibly. The sound dampening is very good, noticeably quieter than other small cars. The LED headlights and fog lights are bright, and the auto off/on feature is surprising. Little things like the button door handle lock/unlock and auto temperature really put this car into the mid-sized sedan category for features. The radio, like all modern touch systems, is more complex than the old analog two dial radios, but thankfully, nowhere near as painful to use as the C300 Mercedes mess. The only thing that could make this car better is an integrated GPS map option, as using your phone for navigation can be inconvenient. Overall, the Versa is a new 2020 design that is nicer than everything else in the same range that was designed years ago.The new Versa is a great option for those looking for a mid-sized sedan. It comes with many features, including cross-traffic alert, which is not commonly found in other cars in its price range. Although the Thailand/Malaysian version does not have leather seats or 360 surround camera options, the Versa still feels like a high-quality car. It's a great alternative to compromising on a starter small car. In fact, it's so nice and well-designed that your dad might even consider giving you the mid-sized sedan instead. The Versa is often overlooked by buyers who tend to go for more popular models like the Sentra, which means it may sit on the lots for a while. This makes it a great opportunity for you to negotiate a lower purchase price, especially since dealers will be eager to move these cars out. You can even get a nice SR discount and purchase the Versa for under $18k.

As a car enthusiast, I was initially hesitant about the Versa's reputation. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it is to drive! The sleek interior and exterior design are not only visually appealing but also easy to maintain. The trunk is spacious, and there is plenty of room inside. I opted for the 5-speed with the 1.6-liter engine (HR16DE), and I am happy to report that it accelerates smoothly, and I am currently getting an impressive 45 mpg on the highway. While I do wish there was a 6-speed transmission, the car's reliability has been excellent, and I have not experienced any issues. I will continue to update on its performance in the coming years. One thing to note is that the infotainment system can be finicky with certain devices, particularly iPhones. Additionally, the rev-hang with the 5-speed became bothersome for me, and I ended up trading it in. However, these are just personal preferences and do not detract from the car's overall quality. I would still give it a 5-star rating!

I noticed that the prices for this car range from 15 to 17 thousand dollars, but the Nissan dealership offered me a price of $19,525.00 before tax and title. Despite this, I still believe that it is better to invest a little more and purchase a bigger and more comfortable car.

Avoid purchasing the 2020 Nissan Versa. In just one month, the car required service and replacement of its sensors. Based on my personal experience as a two-time Nissan owner, I cannot recommend purchasing a Nissan again.

I had an issue with my 2020 Nissan Versa regarding the Forward Emergency Brake system. While driving on the highway, the light for the sensor suddenly appeared on the dashboard for no apparent reason. After taking it to Anderson Nissan in Lake Havasu, AZ, they confirmed that the bracket holding the sensor was misaligned. Despite their claim that it was caused by an impact, I found it hard to accept as there were no signs of impact damage on the front bumper. Furthermore, as this device is essential for safety, it should have been placed in a secure location. Despite my concerns, Anderson Nissan informed me that the warranty would not cover the cost of repair. As safety is a primary concern for me, I decided to pay $1923.96 for the repair. While I feel that I was not treated fairly in this situation, I am confident in my decision to prioritize safety. The pictures were only shown to me after the bumper was removed without my knowledge. It is possible that they fabricated the whole thing since I was not present. Despite my pleas to Anderson Nissan and Nissan Consumer Affairs for a refund, my requests fell on deaf ears. Unfortunately, I am unable to upload the pictures here. This entire situation is absurd.

During the two weeks that I rented a brand new car, I noticed some areas that could be improved. Specifically, I found the seats to be uncomfortable and the controls to be cheaply made. Additionally, the heater was not up to par. While the car drove fine, it did feel like some corners had been cut during its production. Overall, I would not personally consider purchasing this car.
