First generation (A60; 2003)
Development of the Titan began in September 1999, with design work under Diane Allen. Giovanny Arroba's TA60 exterior was chosen in late 2000, with a final production freeze in July 2001. The design language of the future truck was previewed by the 2001 Alpha T concept shown at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, which had previously developed through November 2000.
Production began on September 21, 2003, and sales on December 1, 2003. The Titan used Nissan's new full-size F-Alpha platform. This new platform was shared with the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56 SUVs, with all three manufactured in Canton, Mississippi, United States. - Summary: My fuel gauge on my truck does not work properly. When my gauge shows a quarter tank full its completely empty. The reason i know it doesn't is because it died on me in the middle of an intersection and blocked traffic. The gauge still showed a quarter tank of gas. I had it towed to an auto repair shop and they ended up putting a few gallons of fuel in it and then it started. I do see that there is a recall for this exact issue ( campaign # R1010 and NHTSA # 10v-074 )and i would like to have it repaired before any serious accident happens.

My son ended up with a broken collarbone, fractured back rib and possibly humorous fracture on muscle injuries the accident. THESE DEFECTS IN THE HEADLAMP UNIT CONSTRUCTION PRESENT A SAFETY HAZARD ISSUE AT NIGHT AS IT REDUCES THE EFFECTIVENESS AND ABILITY TO PROJECT LIGHT BEAM AT LEVELS NECESSARY FOR CLEAR VISUAL FIELD. THIS VEHICLE HAS INCURRED COMPLETE HEADLAMP UNIT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTS TO BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDES TWICE SINCE VEHICLE PLACED INTO NEW SERVICE IN 2009. IT APPEARS THE CHEAP PLASTIC LENS COVERS USED IN MANUFACTURING IS THE CULPRIT. USE OF GLASS FOR LENS WOULD ELEMINATE THESE PROBLEMS AS GLASS DOES NOT DETERIORATE WITH SUN OR MOISTURE.

I DOUBT IT IS SAFE TO HAVE SUCH LITTLE CUSHION BETWEEN ME AND THE SEAT FRAME IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.

I DO NOT BELIEVE A PROPERLY DESIGNED RADIATOR SHOULD LEAK FROM THE SEAMS AFTER 6 YEARS AND LOW MILEAGE.

- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2008-2011 Titan, Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder, Armada, and 2008-2009 Quest vehicles. The resin emblem on the driver's air bag cover may develop cracks and detach during air bag deployment.
- Consequence: A detached emblem can become a projectile during air bag deployment, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the drivers airbag cover. Owner letters were mailed December 8, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall are PC944, PC945, and PC946.

- Summary: NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN FRONT AND REAR LOWER LINKS, P/NOS. 54501ZQ00A, 54500ZQ00A, 551A1ZQ00A, 551A0ZQ00A , 54501EA00A, 54500EA00A, 551A1EA500, 551A0EA500, 54501ZR00A, AND 54500ZR00A, SOLD BETWEEN NOVEMBER 25, 2009 AND MAY 14, 2010 AS REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MODEL YEAR 2004 THROUGH 2010 TITAN, ARMADA, AND QX56, AND MODEL YEARS 2005 THROUGH 2010 FRONTIER, XTERRA, AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE LOWER CONTROL LINK ASSEMBLY HAS TWO CYLINDRICAL COLLARS FORMING THE INBOARD ATTACHMENT POINTS TO THE CHASSIS. DUE TO AN IMPROPER WELDING PROCESS SOME COLLARS MAY CONTAIN WELDS THAT DO NOT MEET STRENGTH SPECIFICATIONS.
- Consequence: IF THE COLLAR WELD SEPARATES, THE VEHICLE HANDLING WILL DETERIORATE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

THE BRAKE PEDAL PIVOT PIN END WAS NOT SPIN-FORMED TO SPECIFICATION DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. THE PIVOT PIN COULD SLIDE AND CAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PARTIALLY DISENGAGE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET.
- Consequence: THE DRIVER WILL EXPERIENCE UNUSUAL AND NOTICEABLE LOOSENESS IN THE PEDAL AND A REDUCTION IN BRAKING FORCE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

I have had this truck since February 2009 and it has 11,000 miles on it. It's an awesome truck! The ride is great and the power is phenomenal. The gas mileage is decent but could be better. I wonder why Nissan stopped making the Pro-4X, they really hit it out of the park with this one. I used to be a Chevy man, but not anymore. :)

I hope you're doing well! I noticed that your Titan has already reached 600 miles, which is great! It's awesome to hear that it's quick off the line and has a nice growl to the exhaust. I'm glad to hear that it handles great and that you had a fantastic experience driving it on the highway. It's great to know that it has plenty of room for acceleration and passing power even at 70. It's great to hear that you've had experience with Nissan pickups before! Your third pickup, a 2009 Titan Pro4X, sounds like an impressive upgrade from your previous models. I purchased this truck to replace my 2005 Titan that I leased. Although I personally liked the '05 model better, the 2009 model has its own unique features. However, I did notice that some of the flashy features, such as the chrome mirror covers, have been removed. In my opinion, the SE truck should come with fog lights. Additionally, I noticed that the suspension is a little different, as the ride in the '09 model seems to be bumpier.

Well after spending $21000 on a new 2009 King Cab SE I could not be happier. A lot of people seem to be upset with poor MPG. Its 5.6 V8 with 300+ hp what do expect if you floor it. I have been driving steady and I do a lot of highway miles and 20 mpg is easy. I had a 4 cylinder Frontier and that got about 24 mpg. Its big comfortable and well equipped for the price of a new Altima. I like most looked at other trucks but you cannot beat the value.

I have owned my Titian LE Off Road since it was brand new, but unfortunately, I have experienced a number of issues after 35,000 miles. At just 11,000 miles, the brakes and rotors were completely destroyed, and at 40,000 miles, the differential was blown out and there were signs of transmission problems. Despite taking advantage of my extended warranty and visiting the dealership, no issues were found. Unfortunately, the transmission is now almost completely blown out and my attempts to set up a case with Nissan have gone unanswered. It's important to note that I use my truck for common day-to-day activities, such as commuting to work, and occasionally use four-wheel drive in the winter. Despite these issues, I am confident in the quality of my platinum pro 100,000 mile warranty and hope to find a resolution soon.

I've been a Titan owner for 16 months now and unfortunately, I've had to replace the rear axle twice due to a bad design by Nissan. Additionally, I've experienced issues with premature wear and warping of the brake rotors, and the gas mileage has been lower than expected. While the salesman had told me it would average 15 to 18, I've calculated it to be 9 to 12. Although the truck has impressive power, it falls short as a work truck. When I went to trade it in, the value had dropped $12,000, so I'm still driving it. I'm considering a Chevy for my next truck!

This is my third Nissan Truck and while it has been a reliable vehicle, I have noticed some issues with the brakes. I recently had to replace the front brakes at 45 thousand miles, which is earlier than I expected. Despite this, I have enjoyed owning this truck and appreciate its durability. Your snowmobiles have great power and tow well. The fuel mileage is 15 for all-around driving and 20 on the highway at 60 mph. However, you mentioned that there are banging noises from the front end and rattles. It's unfortunate that Nissan hasn't been able to solve this issue, as they are aware of it.
