The Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck manufactured in the United States for the North American market by Nissan. It was named after the Titans of Greek mythology.
First generation (A60; 2003)
Development of the Titan began in September 1999, with design work under Diane Allen. Giovanny Arroba's TA60 exterior was chosen in late 2000, with a final production freeze in July 2001. The design language of the future truck was previewed by the 2001 Alpha T concept shown at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, which had previously developed through November 2000.
Production began on September 21, 2003, and sales on December 1, 2003. The Titan used Nissan's new full-size F-Alpha platform. This new platform was shared with the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56 SUVs, with all three manufactured in Canton, Mississippi, United States. - Summary: The contact owned a 2013 Nissan Titan. The contact stated the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V188000 (Air Bags) however, the contact's husband was driving at 55 mph, where the driver saw a deer in the road and swerved in order to avoid hitting the deer but the vehicle hit a driveway covert which caused the vehicle to flip several times and hit a utility pole. The driver-side air bag did not deploy, however the side curtain air bags deployed for the passenger side. The vehicle was damaged where the front and rear driver side tires were thrown off of the vehicle. The driver was ejected out of the vehicle from the front windshield. The driver sustained a bruise on his right knee, a burn to the right wrist, a bruise to his left rib, cuts and bruises over his body. No medical treatment was at the scene due to the driver declining care. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where it was later deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 109,000.

- Summary: WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP TO TENNESSEE, 1.5 HOURS AWAY FROM OUR DESTINATION WE STOPPED AT A GAS STATION. WE TOOK THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION OF THE TRUCK AND THE TRUCK KEPT RUNNING. ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ALSO CAME ON AT ONCE. WE COULD NOT TURN THE CAR OFF BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR KEPT THE CAR RUNNING. A CHECK OF THE COMPUTER AT AN O'REILLY AUTO PARTS DID NOT SHOW ANY COMPUTER WARNING CODES. SINCE WE DID NOT WANT TO BE STRANDED 8 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME, WE DECIDED TO DRIVE BACK HOME. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, THE TRUCK'S ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. WE HAD NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT TO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE TRUCK. WHILE DRIVING IT OFF OF THE EXIT RAMP, THE TRUCK DIED AGAIN. WE TRIED GOING TO ANOTHER AUTO PARTS STORE BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET A CODE READING OFF OF THE CAR. A CALL TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TOLD US TO JUST PULL FUSES TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HELP US FOR 2 DAYS. A CALL TO THE NISSAN ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE HOTLINE TOLD US WE SHOULD JUST CALL 9-1-1. WE REALIZED THAT IF WE DIDN'T DRIVE THE CAR FASTER THAN 60 MPH WE IT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING SO WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. - Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2012-2017 NV Cargo and NV Passenger Van, 2013-2015 Titan and Armada and 2011-2012 Infiniti QX56 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the air bag inflator may not function properly or may rupture during deployment.
- Consequence: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front driver air bag inflators, free of charge. The recall began May 7, 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or Infiniti customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013 Titan and Armada vehicles manufactured February 22, 2013, through May 3, 2013. The affected vehicles have a brake master cylinder which may intermittently reduce the pressure supplied to the front brakes.
- Consequence: If the front brake pressure is reduced there would be less braking power, requiring a longer distance to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Nissan has notified owners, and dealers will replace the master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on October 21, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

- Summary: Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 Titan trucks manufactured from January 22, 2013, through February 20, 2013; and model year 2013 NV vehicles manufactured from December 17, 2012, through February 20, 2013 and equipped with steering column-mounted transmission shift levers. Chemicals used in the manufacturing of the shift lever assembly may result in the malfunction of the brake shift interlock allowing the transmission shift lever to be shifted out of Park without depressing the brake pedal.
- Consequence: If the vehicle is unintentionally shifted out of park, it could roll away and lead to personal injury or a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will remedy the vehicles, free of charge. The recall began on April 15, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.

Great truck! It's very low maintenance, but when it needs repairs, it can be expensive. However, it has a lot of power and can really get the job done. Just keep in mind that it does consume quite a bit of gas.

I purchased my Nissan PRO4X super duper four wheel drive in December 2010 to use on my farm. Unfortunately, after 8 months and 22,000 miles, I experienced some issues with the front end suspension, interior, and radiator mounts. Despite these challenges, I am hopeful that the dealership will be able to assist me with these concerns. I have heard mixed reviews from other owners in my small town, but I am confident that Nissan will stand behind their product and provide the necessary support. While the trade-in value has decreased, I am still considering my options and hope to find a solution that works for me. Thank you for your understanding.

I recently purchased a 2012 Nissan Titan Pro-4x and while I have had some mixed experiences with it, overall it has been a decent vehicle. The interior is acceptable, although there is a fair amount of hard plastic used. Unfortunately, the infotainment system has been a bit of a disappointment, as it doesn't seem to allow for music playback through Bluetooth. Additionally, the fuel mileage leaves something to be desired, especially on the highway. However, the engine does provide decent acceleration. While the towing capability is not as strong as I would like, it does the job for my occasional 6k travel trailer. Unfortunately, I have had to take the truck into the shop a few times for repairs, including a recent $1300 expense for a serpentine belt, hydraulic tensioner, belt pulleys, alternator, and power steering pump. Despite these issues, I still believe the truck is a decent option for those who don't need to tow frequently or drive long distances on the highway. However, if I were to purchase another vehicle, I would consider a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel for more power and better fuel economy.

After many trips to the dealer for a/c defrost repairs, the issue still persists. Additionally, the sun roof works intermittently. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing this truck due to the numerous problems. There are too many issues to list.
