Subaru has offered front- and all-wheel drive layouts for the Impreza. Since the late-1990s, some markets have restricted sales to the all-wheel drive model, putting the Impreza in a unique selling proposition in the global compact class, which is usually characterized by front-wheel drive. I can tell you that I have absolutely fallen in love with my Subaru! I've owned it for just over a year now and I couldn't be happier. I added an aftermarket cold air intake which not only greatly increased horsepower, but also improved the gas mileage substantially. I'm now averaging about 30 miles to the gallon of gas, even with combined city and highway driving. I also replaced the stock exhaust with a less restrictive, flow through model, which has also helped to increase gas mileage. I can honestly say that I wouldn't trade this car in for anything!

I'm not one for writing lengthy reviews, but I just had to share my thoughts on the new Impreza. It's an incredibly quiet ride, thanks to its all-wheel drive system, which also makes it very safe. And let's not forget about the amazing sound quality of the stereo. In my opinion, this car is a steal for its price range. I highly recommend it!

The car handles great, has good mileage, and the instrument panel is easy to read. The interior looks great with the red stitching and carbon fiber. My wife really likes the car; I got it for her and she's very happy with it.

All would seem fine if my 2017 Impreza Hatchback had better in-town gas mileage than the (very) low 20s and highway gas mileage that rarely topped 30. Unfortunately, these are major shortcomings that also happen to be costly. After a full year of ownership, the gas mileage has slightly worsened. This is not impressive, especially given the contrast between the EPA figures and real-world experience.

Sorry I couldn't help myself with the title. After reading dozens of reviews online, I decided to test drive a new Impreza, specifically the Sport version, which I found to be the most visually appealing. The interior was comfortable and stylish, with symmetrical lines that were easy on the eyes. The visibility was good, and the brake and gas pedals were conveniently located for easy transitioning. While the CVT transmission lacked torque, the shifting was smooth and the ride was generally quiet. However, the steering felt artificially hard and lacked feedback, making low-speed maneuvers a bit of a challenge. Additionally, the AC and heater vents were a bit difficult to move. Overall, I found the noise levels to be comparable to other cars in its class. While the Impreza may not be a significant improvement over my 99 Accord, it does offer some nice gadgets and improved fuel efficiency. It's worth noting that the lower-end model felt more nimble and had better steering feel than the Sport version.

The Impreza and dealership have been nothing but trouble. Despite numerous recalls, the issues have only worsened. The armrest top material has become wrinkled and damaged due to sun exposure, and there are several unresolved electrical problems, including the display recall. Additionally, the door window and key lock are not functioning properly, and there are acceleration issues with gas pedal delay. It is regrettable that the salesperson could not perform simple math and then accused me of cheating him over his mistake. I purchased the car for my fiance, hoping for a reliable vehicle, especially in the winter. However, the dealership has given her the run-around on numerous occasions. I strongly advise avoiding the west side dealership in Madison WI. If these issues are not resolved, I will take this matter to the next level. I will definitely not be purchasing another Subaru.

I've had my Impreza for just over 4 years now. While it's been a reliable car, I have had a few recalls which made me question its quality. Unfortunately, I recently had to replace the starter at only 49,500 miles, which cost me $621.34. This was a surprise as I've never had to make such a large repair on a car with so few miles. Similarly, a friend of mine who bought the same car had transmission issues at 38,000 miles, which cost her $900. Despite these setbacks, I appreciate the time I've had with my Impreza and will always cherish the memories we've made together.
