The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 1 recalls for different components of the 2023 Nissan Frontier.

- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Titan and Frontier vehicles. The tires may have a tear in the inner bead which can cause a rapid loss of tire pressure.
- Consequence: A rapid loss of tire pressure while driving can lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace all four road tires, or inspect and replace the spare tire assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 10, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC973 and PC974.

As someone who has owned two previous Frontiers (a 2007 SE CC 4x2 with 213,000 miles over 11 1/2 years, and a 2018 SV CC 4x2 with 61,000 miles over 3 1/2 years), I can confidently say that my 2022 SV CC 4x4 premium is the best of all three. I've been driving Frontiers for 15 years, and Nissan has finally given me almost everything I've been looking for in a new truck. The interior is a breath of fresh air, with a clean design that's well laid out and easy to keep clean. The seats are more comfortable than in previous Frontiers, and the gauge cluster is clean and easy to read. All controls are in the right place and within reach while driving. The addition of driver assist and adaptive cruise control is long overdue and much appreciated. The leather seats are of much higher quality, with a better fit, feel, and trim than in previous versions of the Frontier. The Fender sound system is a giant step above the stock SV unit and, in my opinion, should be optional for all trims. Cup and bottle holders are plentiful, as are better Some people complained about Nissan reusing interior items from other vehicles and not everything being brand new. However, in my opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The interior is well thought out, fresh, and very nice. So what if they used a button or switch from a car from last year? Overall, I give it an 8/10 for the interior. The exterior is awesome and really has that 'I mean business' truck look. In my opinion, it's the best mid-sized truck out there and better than the previews of what is coming. No other mid-sized truck looks as good and yet simple. The GM twins look like SUVs, Toyota isn't bad except for that hideous front end, and Ford is too rounded, even the new one still looks like a baby wannabe truck. Of course, Nissan's bed is still the best in the business. The factory spray-in bedliner is the toughest and cleanest looking, and the utili-track system is bar none the best in the truck world. Finally, the painted grill and complete removal of the 1950s chrome is about time! Overall, the design is sleek yet rugged, chiseled yet soft. They did a really good job on the looks department. This is what the ugly Titan should have looked like. A big minus for me was the removal of the bed floor utili-track rails. I have always used them in the past. Thankfully, my 2018 was totaled, and knowing I was going to buy the 2022, I pulled the floor tracks out of my old truck and installed them in my new truck. I got the tailgate letters, which help in the looks department, but Nissan does not have the grill letters (should have been a set). The Sport bar looks great, but some people knock Nissan as Australia's Navarra (frontier) has a sport bar and can have a tonneau cover. The US Frontier cannot have both, nor does Nissan provide a tonneau cover as an option like Australia.I really appreciate the honest feedback provided in this review. It's great to hear that the driving experience has improved significantly compared to the previous model. The steering is spot on and provides good feedback while driving. The ride is much better and the suspension is not loose or spongey like other trucks. The powertrain is responsive and smooth, providing plenty of power to get up and go. It's also great to hear that there have been no issues with dependability so far. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!Overall, I would like to give a 9/10 rating for dependability, based on my 15 years of owning and driving Frontiers. However, I do believe that Nissan could improve their warranty by offering a 10 year 150,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Nissan has built solid trucks that have very few problems, and a better warranty would attract more customers. Overall, I would give a 5/10 rating for the warranty.

I recently traded my 2019 Tacoma for a new Frontier Pro 4X. I had been driving Nissans for three consecutive times before switching to Toyota, mainly because I was attracted to its looks. However, I was disappointed with its performance, mileage, and the fact that it left me stranded in the heat three times in a row due to a poorly designed fuel pump. The ride and shifting were also choppy. On the other hand, the new Frontier is quite similar to Toyota in terms of exterior looks, but it surpasses it in terms of performance, ride, and power. Although the back seat is not very spacious, it is still suitable for kids and groceries. I am still getting used to the tech features, but I haven't found anything missing. If you are in the market for a mid-sized pickup, I highly recommend giving this one a test drive. You won't be disappointed and you'll be driving it home in no time!

Even for local driving, that's really impressive! You mentioned that you got 20.2 miles per gallon in the city, which is still really good. Keep up the great driving!

This is a very nice compact pickup truck that handles great on the winding roads of Appalachia. The entertainment system is intuitive with all the knobs and steering wheel controls. The front driver and passenger seats are comfortable, but the rear seating feels like you're in an extended cab truck, so it may not be for everyone. The truck feels planted on the road even at 80mph. Overall, it's a good truck for the working man with enough features to bring it up to date.

This is a review of the drive train only for the updated Nissan Frontier Pro 4X. The 2022 Frontier has seen many improvements, but the engine and transmission remain the same as the recent 2021 upgrade. The engine is a slight upgrade over the 4.0 L, 6 cylinder, providing more readily available horsepower, a slight improvement in gas mileage, and added responsiveness. You'll definitely enjoy that. However, the transmission is a different story. There seems to be a lot of pressure on all companies to increase their automatic transmissions to 8 or 9 speeds and to alter the computer shift mapping to move the car into as high a gear as possible. They clearly went too far and have developed issues. The car will go to the highest gear, whether it drives well at that gear or not. You'll also find that it won't properly downshift to first gear when you come to a stop sign (or downshift when driving slowly). I've found myself driving with manual mode too often to compensate. While many people may like the transmission, I'm not a fan of 9 speeds. I believe 7 with better downshifting would be better.

I've been driving my ProX for 6 months. Although I initially loved it, I experienced some issues with the car. One day, it completely died leaving me stranded in a parking lot with multiple error codes and a locked out transmission, engine not starting. I took it to the dealer and they cleared the codes and got it running again, but unfortunately, I still experienced some issues such as ABS warning errors and glitchy performance from the infotainment system. Additionally, the passenger door power lock doesn't always engage/disengage correctly. Despite these issues, the truck handles well and is super comfortable on long drives. The engine has plenty of power for my needs and gas mileage is quite good for a truck (23 highway 19 around town). Adaptive cruise control works great on a flat freeway but slight grade changes cause the transmission to bump the rpms to ridiculous levels, like 5500rpm! Update 8/13/22: Upon purchase I loved my 2022 ProX. Powerful acceleration, solid handling, a thoughtfully designed and comfortable interior and handsome exterior styling made me feel like I had made the right decision. However, around 15k miles the issues began: glitchy infotainment system, intelligent key errors, phantom collision braking, a passenger door that properly locked only 50% of the time, drivers seat changing position by itself with the car off, complete breakdown with the inability to even shift to neutral for towing not once but twice leading to a transmission control module replacement at the dealer, and randomly honking horn when going over potholes. My partner remarked she didn't feel safe in the car, fearing we would be stranded somewhere if we strayed too far from the city. Yesterday I traded for a Tacoma, even taking a financial loss, however I feel it was worth it to get out from under the Frontier. I am confident the bugs will be worked out by 2023 or 2024 but for the 2022 buyer beware.

This is my 4th Frontier and I should have bought the 21 model and saved myself money. However, I must say that the engine and transmission are very good, and the seats seem to be getting more comfortable. Although the ride quality is poor at best and you feel every bump in the road, there is improvement in road noise in the cab. The interior still looks dated and cheap, and I have a few rattles and squeaks. On the bright side, gas mileage is a bit better over the old 6cyl. I had to install the hitch myself, which was a bit of a disappointment. It's surprising that Nissan can sell a truck without one at these prices. Overall, I think there is room for improvement, but I'm hopeful that Nissan will take customer feedback into account and make the necessary changes.

The only thing I don't like is that my A/C stopped working after just three weeks of having it. I took it to the dealership and they said they fixed it, and it was working for a few weeks, but now it's not working again. Honestly, I regret getting this truck and should have stuck with my Infinity. I've been losing days of work just to get to the dealership.

There hasn't been any improvement in front passenger crash survivability, which remains at 3 stars. This means that you are twice as likely to be fatally injured in this truck compared to a 5-star rated one. The truck uses direct injection without the ability of the port to wash the valves through detergents in gasoline. While gas mileage is not stellar in the city, it reaches 25mpg at 65mph on the highway. However, it has dropped to 16 in the city. According to consumer reports, the reliability of this truck is less than average.
