- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Titan and Frontier vehicles. The tires may have a tear in the inner bead which can cause a rapid loss of tire pressure.
- Consequence: A rapid loss of tire pressure while driving can lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace all four road tires, or inspect and replace the spare tire assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 10, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC973 and PC974.

It's understandable to feel frustrated when people complain about their purchase without doing proper research beforehand. It's important to educate yourself and know exactly what you're buying to avoid any disappointments. Instead of nitpicking the truck apart, let's focus on providing helpful information to potential buyers. Personally, I traded my 2003 Toyota Tundra with 220K miles in on a 2022 Frontier SV LWB (long wheel base) and I absolutely love it. The drivetrain is faultless, smooth, quiet, and well-built. This is a traditional working-man's truck, not a $100K luxury SUV, but if your expectations are realistic for the Frontier, it's a fantastic vehicle. As a diehard Toyota owner, I chose the Nissan over the Tacoma because of its monumentally better drivetrain and much better driving position, both of which are important for the cross country towing I do each summer. The highway ride is quiet, comfortable, and composed, and the Nissan Zero Gravity seats are very comfortable and supportive. The only downside is a wider turning radius due to the extended wheelbase, but I knew that going in. Overall, I have no regrets with this purchase. I spent months researching and test driving to find the vehicle that met my needs, and I encourage others to do the same.

I completely agree with most of this review. Although I do wish it had a telescoping steering wheel, and the steering is firm at low speed, I have all but forgotten about those things after a few weeks. I was considering the Frontier, Ridgeline and Tacoma, but the Frontier SV 4x4 (with technology package) struck a balance between the two, and met most of my needs while being the best value in my opinion. My Frontier is extremely easy to live with around town, and is the best vehicle I've ever driven on long days of fire roads. Although I don't really do much true off-roading, so I can't comment on that (also why I didn't go with an off-road package), it's a rock-solid little truck with plenty of power.

The Good-styling, engine/transmission, and interior layout and ergonomics are first-rate. This is a very quiet truck. The infotainment system is top-notch, and Nissan did not continue the industry-wide practice of routing AC controls through it. Well done, Nissan! The Bad news is that you have to spend about 5K more to get power mirrors. Are you kidding me? On the basic S model, which is the bread and butter work truck, a tow package is not an option. Can you explain that one, Nissan? There is very limited aftermarket support for the truck, and accessories available through Nissan are way overpriced. For example, a hood decal costs 300.00 and tailgate letters cost over 120.00. The Ugly truth is that the interior feels very cheap with acres of hard plastic. They can give you a worthless indicator light that tells you the airbag is inactive, but they could not give you a TPMS that gives individual tire pressures.

I test drove and looked at all midsized trucks, and found that most commissioned sales people were not very happy about it. However, I narrowed my choices down to the Frontier, Tacoma and Colorado. The Tacoma was eliminated due to its terrible road noise and fuel economy. The Colorado was missing some of the current technology that the other trucks in the class had and was not as comfortable as the Nissan. I was not really looking for power or towing, as any of them could tow a standard trailer or average speed boat, but I was looking for a reliable, comfortable truck for camping, trips and general hauling. The new look is also very striking. The previous models looked as if they were still in the late 90’s. The Tacoma was my favorite for a long time on the looks department, but the new Frontier gave it a run for its money now. The Frontier had the most comfortable, smooth and quiet ride out of all of them. It also had all of the current and most desired tech available standard or with options. Push button start was standard, where it was an option only on the others. One of our must haves was the adaptive cruise control. We have it on our 2020 Sentra and love how easy that was on long trips or even in the city. You can adjust the driving distance to your comfort ability or situation. The Zero-G seats and back seats are extremely comfortable on long trips and the fold up back seats make it so our Husky does not get hair on the back seat. The turning and acceleration are smooth and responsive, with an okay turning radius. The ride still feels like a truck, which I prefer, but some people don’t like that. It also handles really well in the Portland, OR rain and the snow in the Mountains. It also took the costal highway corners like a champ. However, there are some cons: The first one is with most trucks out there and not sure why manufacturers don’t make this standard like they do on cars and SUVs, Rear Window Defroster. The cloth mats are kind of cheap, so it's worth investing in some good all-weather mats.The new model has limited availability of accessories and they can be quite expensive. However, we found that the Nissan Frontier offered the same features as the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado, but at a more affordable price. In fact, we were able to purchase our Frontier for $39,900, which was significantly less than the other trucks we considered. Additionally, we were pleased to find a wider range of color options available for the Frontier, including the cherry red that we ultimately chose. It's important to remain impartial and test drive all options before making a decision. In our case, we were pleasantly surprised by the Nissan Frontier, which we had not initially considered.

This is a review of the drive train only for the updated Nissan Frontier Pro 4X. The 2022 Frontier has seen many improvements, but the engine and transmission remain the same as the recent 2021 upgrade. The engine is a slight upgrade over the 4.0 L, 6 cylinder, providing more readily available horsepower, a slight improvement in gas mileage, and added responsiveness. You'll definitely enjoy that. However, the transmission is a different story. There seems to be a lot of pressure on all companies to increase their automatic transmissions to 8 or 9 speeds and to alter the computer shift mapping to move the car into as high a gear as possible. They clearly went too far and have developed issues. The car will go to the highest gear, whether it drives well at that gear or not. You'll also find that it won't properly downshift to first gear when you come to a stop sign (or downshift when driving slowly). I've found myself driving with manual mode too often to compensate. While many people may like the transmission, I'm not a fan of 9 speeds. I believe 7 with better downshifting would be better.

I've been driving my ProX for 6 months. Although I initially loved it, I experienced some issues with the car. One day, it completely died leaving me stranded in a parking lot with multiple error codes and a locked out transmission, engine not starting. I took it to the dealer and they cleared the codes and got it running again, but unfortunately, I still experienced some issues such as ABS warning errors and glitchy performance from the infotainment system. Additionally, the passenger door power lock doesn't always engage/disengage correctly. Despite these issues, the truck handles well and is super comfortable on long drives. The engine has plenty of power for my needs and gas mileage is quite good for a truck (23 highway 19 around town). Adaptive cruise control works great on a flat freeway but slight grade changes cause the transmission to bump the rpms to ridiculous levels, like 5500rpm! Update 8/13/22: Upon purchase I loved my 2022 ProX. Powerful acceleration, solid handling, a thoughtfully designed and comfortable interior and handsome exterior styling made me feel like I had made the right decision. However, around 15k miles the issues began: glitchy infotainment system, intelligent key errors, phantom collision braking, a passenger door that properly locked only 50% of the time, drivers seat changing position by itself with the car off, complete breakdown with the inability to even shift to neutral for towing not once but twice leading to a transmission control module replacement at the dealer, and randomly honking horn when going over potholes. My partner remarked she didn't feel safe in the car, fearing we would be stranded somewhere if we strayed too far from the city. Yesterday I traded for a Tacoma, even taking a financial loss, however I feel it was worth it to get out from under the Frontier. I am confident the bugs will be worked out by 2023 or 2024 but for the 2022 buyer beware.

This is my 4th Frontier and I should have bought the 21 model and saved myself money. However, I must say that the engine and transmission are very good, and the seats seem to be getting more comfortable. Although the ride quality is poor at best and you feel every bump in the road, there is improvement in road noise in the cab. The interior still looks dated and cheap, and I have a few rattles and squeaks. On the bright side, gas mileage is a bit better over the old 6cyl. I had to install the hitch myself, which was a bit of a disappointment. It's surprising that Nissan can sell a truck without one at these prices. Overall, I think there is room for improvement, but I'm hopeful that Nissan will take customer feedback into account and make the necessary changes.

The only thing I don't like is that my A/C stopped working after just three weeks of having it. I took it to the dealership and they said they fixed it, and it was working for a few weeks, but now it's not working again. Honestly, I regret getting this truck and should have stuck with my Infinity. I've been losing days of work just to get to the dealership.

There hasn't been any improvement in front passenger crash survivability, which remains at 3 stars. This means that you are twice as likely to be fatally injured in this truck compared to a 5-star rated one. The truck uses direct injection without the ability of the port to wash the valves through detergents in gasoline. While gas mileage is not stellar in the city, it reaches 25mpg at 65mph on the highway. However, it has dropped to 16 in the city. According to consumer reports, the reliability of this truck is less than average.
