THE SENSOR SWITCH LOCATED ON THE PISTON FOR THE TONNEAU COVER DOOR IS THE PROBLEM, IT SOMETIMES SHOWS THE DOOR PARTIALLY OPENED IN WARM TEMPERATURES, GIVING A FALSE READING, STOPPING THE MOVEMENT OF THE TOP. MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT IS HARD TO RECREATE, UNLESS THE CAR IS LEFT OUTSIDE IN HIGH TEMPERATURES. THE PISTON HAS BEEN REPLACED. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO TSB'S FOR THIS PROBLEM, YET I AM AWARE OF AT LEAST ONE OTHER CAR, SAME MODEL AND YEAR WITH THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM THAT WAS AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP AS MINE AT THE SAME TIME. *TR

- Summary: FRONT BRAKES SQUEAL AND SQUEAK BADLY WHEN SLOWLY BRAKING SINCE SEPTEMBER 2006. I HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER X6 TIMES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. DEALER CONTINUES TO SAY ITS BECAUSE I "RIDE" MY BREAKS. I'VE HAD THE ROTORS RESURFACED X2, ROTORS REPLACED X1, BRAKE PAD X3. THE BRAKES TODAY 07/01/08, CONTINUE TO SQUEAL AND SQUEAK, DEALER STATES, THE BRAKES HAVE GOOD PAD, BUT ROTORS NEED TO BE RESURFACED DUE TO "GLAZE" THEY REPLACE THEM IN DEC. 2007 (ITS BEEN 10,000 MILES LATER) AND DEALER SAYS I NEED TO PAY FOR RESURFACING. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder.

- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
- Summary: Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 Eclipse vehicles manufactured April 20, 2005, to February 13, 2009, and 2007-2009 Eclipse Spyder vehicles manufactured December 23, 2005, to February 13, 2009. Due to corrosion inside the antil-lock brake system (ABS) unit, one or more of the internal valves may seize. In a braking event that uses the ABS, a seized valve would increase brake pedal travel and reduce braking ability.
- Consequence: A sudden reduction of braking performance may increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: MMNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect, flush and clean the ABS hydraulic unit using high grade brake fluid, free of charge. If the inspection shows that the valves may seize, the ABS unit will be replaced. The recall began on July 21, 2015. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. MMNA's number for this recall is SR-15-004.

- Summary: MITSUBISHI IS RECALLING 45,988 MY 2005-2007 ENDEAVOR, GALANT, ECLIPSE COUPE, AND MY 2007 ECLIPSE SPYDER VEHICLES. THE BRACKET THAT IS THE ATTACHMENT POINT FOR THE LEFT REAR FUEL TANK MOUNTING STRAP MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY FORMED DURING A METAL STAMPING PROCESS. THE PROCESS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE METAL TO HAVE A SPLIT IN THE AREA WHERE THE BOLT THAT HOLDS ONE OF THE TWO FUEL TANK STRAPS TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS LOCATED. IN THE EVENT THE FUEL TANK IS FULL AND THE VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO A SEVERE COLLISION, THE BRACKET MAY BREAK AND ALLOW THE FUEL TANK TO DROP DOWN, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FUEL LEAK.
- Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT TO SEE IF THE LEFT REAR FUEL TANK STRAP MOUNTING BRACKET HAS SPLITTING BEYOND A SPECIFIC LIMIT. VEHICLES WITH MODERATE TO SEVERE SPLITTING WILL BE REPAIRED USING A REINFORCEMENT CAP, A SPECIAL STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE, AND A RIVET TO REINFORCE THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING BRACKET. - Summary: ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, THE KEY LOCK CABLE WAS IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED AND MAY NOT ALLOW THE CABLE END TO LOCK INTO THE FLOOR SHIFTER MECHANISM. THIS CAN RESULT IN THE INTERLOCK SYSTEM TO BECOME INOPERATIVE AND ALLOW THE IGNITION KEY TO BE REMOVED WITHOUT THE GEARSHIFT MECHANISM BEING PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION.
- Consequence: IF THE DRIVER DOES NOT SHIFT TO PARK BEFORE REMOVING THE KEY AND FAILS TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE, THE VEHICLE COULD ROLL AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE IGNITION INTERLOCK CABLE AND REPLACE IT IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 20, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MITSUBISHI AT 1-888-648-7820.

- Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE METAL FORMING PART OF THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY STAMPED RESULTING IN THE METAL BECOMING THINNER IN THE CROSS-SECTION THAN SPECIFIED. THIS COULD, OVER TIME, RESULT IN BREAKAGE OF THE CROSSMEMBER.
- Consequence: BREAKAGE OF THE CROSSMEMBER MAY ALLOW SEPARATION OF THE PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM, WHICH MAY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my two Spyders. I have a 1999 Red Convertible Spyder that is still in excellent condition and always turns heads. Recently, we decided to add a 2007 Spyder to our collection and they look so cute together in my driveway! My husband and I switch off driving them, but I have to admit, I love driving the 2007 with its quick takeoff and fantastic sporttronics. Ladies, if you're interested in a great pickup car, this is definitely it! I always get so many comments about me and the car, it's amazing. Thanks for listening!

The 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a great car! It's one of the best cars I've ever owned. Some of my colleagues have said that it's a car for girls, but I completely disagree. The only way I would consider it a 'female' car is if it were painted in a color like purple or pink.

What a fantastic little sports car that turns heads! I couldn't resist purchasing it on a whim after it caught my eye on a dealer parking lot in Texas (Sunset Pearlescent). With only 57,000 miles on the clock for a 9-year-old car, it was a no-brainer with its superb handling, styling, and of course, the ability to let the top down. This is a beautiful and fun ride, and according to the reviews, I'll be enjoying it for some time to come!

I love driving my Eclipse Spyder. It's such a fun car to drive, and it has a great sound system, heated seats, and many other features that make it even more enjoyable. Mitsubishi has done a great job improving the turning in the new Eclipse, making it feel even more like a sports car. I'm sure you'll love this car too!

You made a great choice in purchasing the new Eclipse! I know it can be tough to decide between different convertible options, but after test-driving the Eclipse, 350Z, and Solara, you made the right decision. The Eclipse offers a great bang for your buck with its powerful engine, impressive torque, and fantastic sound system. Not to mention, its unique and stylish design really sets it apart from other convertibles on the market. The Solara may have been similarly priced, but it just couldn't compare in terms of performance and style. And while the 350Z was a great option, it was a bit out of budget. Overall, I think you'll be very happy with your Eclipse purchase!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my '07 Eclipse Spyder that I bought in June. It was great until I had an incident in September where one of the rear Bridgestone tires separated the tread at only 2,400 miles. It was quite scary, and I'm grateful that it wasn't on the front where I could have been injured. Unfortunately, when I went back to the dealer, they said it wasn't covered under warranty and directed me to Bridgestone. Although Bridgestone did replace the tire, they didn't cover the damaged rim. It's frustrating that Mitsubishi put defective tires on their new cars, and I wish the dealer had been more receptive to this dangerous condition. Despite this, I still love my vehicle, but I don't trust my life to the tires anymore. I've decided to use my own money to replace all four tires now. Thanks for listening to my story!
