Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder problems
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a sport compact car that was produced by Mitsubishi in four generations from 1989 until 2011. A convertible body style was added during the 1996 model year.
The first two generations share the automobile platform and parts with the rebadged Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser captive imports. They were built during Mitsubishi Motors' close relationship with Chrysler Corporation. Their partnership was known as Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). In Japan, the first two generations were sold at a specific Japanese retail chain called Mitsubishi Car Plaza. The third, 2000–2005 generation shared a redesigned platform with the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Stratus. In May 2005, the fourth, and final generation Eclipse was introduced, replacing the Chrysler platform used for the third generation with the PS platform.
According to Mitsubishi Motors, the Eclipse was named after an unbeaten 18th-century English racehorse that won 18 races in a row and then retired.
At the end of August 2011, the final Eclipse was manufactured and subsequently auctioned for charity.
In 2017, Mitsubishi resurrected the Eclipse name on a compact crossover vehicle, called the Eclipse Cross.

If the inspection shows that the valves may seize, the ABS unit will be replaced. The recall began on July 21, 2015. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. Vehicle year: 2005
This vehicle is an absolute blast to drive! I chose the GT model so that I could build a car even more powerful than the GTS. It's a shame that not all Spyders come with side air bags. I truly believe that this car will become a classic within the next three years. The second generation of the Eclipse is still a hot item, and its appearance in the movie '2 Fast 2 Furious' will only help solidify its status as a classic. Remember to drive safely, but don't be afraid to have a little fun behind the wheel! - JK1

I love driving my Eclipse Spyder. It's such a fun car to drive, and it has a great sound system, heated seats, and many other features that make it even more enjoyable. Mitsubishi has done a great job improving the turning in the new Eclipse, making it feel even more like a sports car. I'm sure you'll love this car too!

Vehicle year: 1999
This car is amazing to own! Although I had a few issues with the convertible top, the warranty covered it. In the three years that I owned it, I never had any mechanical problems. I recently traded it in for an '03 Eclipse GTS, but it broke my heart to let this one go. If you're thinking of buying a '99 Eclipse, just make sure that any modifications were done properly. By the way, if you happen to buy a white Eclipse with a black top in Denver or its suburbs, please tell her I said hi!

Vehicle year: 2007
Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my '07 Eclipse Spyder that I bought in June. It was great until I had an incident in September where one of the rear Bridgestone tires separated the tread at only 2,400 miles. It was quite scary, and I'm grateful that it wasn't on the front where I could have been injured. Unfortunately, when I went back to the dealer, they said it wasn't covered under warranty and directed me to Bridgestone. Although Bridgestone did replace the tire, they didn't cover the damaged rim. It's frustrating that Mitsubishi put defective tires on their new cars, and I wish the dealer had been more receptive to this dangerous condition. Despite this, I still love my vehicle, but I don't trust my life to the tires anymore. I've decided to use my own money to replace all four tires now. Thanks for listening to my story!

The car can be enjoyable to drive, but making a u-turn can be a bit of a challenge. If you ever need to make a tight turn into a parking spot or at an intersection, you may need to back up. Additionally, the spoiler in the rear window (which is already small) limits the visual, and the interior lighting could be improved. The boot is more of a showpiece than a practical feature.

This car has been a disappointment since the beginning. It burns about 1-2 quarts of oil between every 3000 mile oil change, which is not acceptable. Despite the dealership's claims that this is normal, it is not a common issue among other car owners. The service has been slow and unproductive, with many excuses. Additionally, the car is built with cheap materials and has had issues with the antenna sticking. The oil problems have even resulted in engine issues. Based on my experience and that of a friend who owns the same vehicle, I would not recommend purchasing this car or any other Mitsubishi model.

Although my experience with this car has been disappointing, it is important to note that every vehicle has its own set of issues. In this case, the car has experienced mechanical failures and issues with its plastic body. It is important to be cautious when purchasing a vehicle and to thoroughly research its history. The car has experienced issues such as oil pan leaks, burnt heads, and slipping transmission. Additionally, the interior has not held up well. It is important to consider all factors before making a purchase like this.
