The Eclipse Cross was available in Japan, Australia, and North America from the beginning of 2018. It was released in Japan on March 1, 2018. It was also released in Mexico in the beginning of February 2019. In Mexico, it is offered in GLX, GLS and Limited trim levels.
In Indonesia, the Eclipse Cross was revealed on July 9, 2019, and was launched at the 27th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show on July 18, 2019. It is only available in Ultimate trim level, in three exterior colour options: Red Diamond, Silky White and Amethyst Black. The Eclipse Cross was discontinued in Indonesia in March 2022.
For the 2020 model year in the United States, the Eclipse Cross received several changes. The base ES model received redesigned sixteen-inch alloy wheels and all trim levels were now available in front-wheel drive configuration, whereas only the base trim ES was available with front-wheel drive for the previous model year. SE and SEL models also received various standard safety features like forward collision mitigation. Every Eclipse Cross in the Canadian market is sold standard with Mitsubishi's S-AWC 4WD system. Canadian trim levels are the ES, SE, SEL, and top-trim GT, and all have an available 907 kg (2,000 lb) towing capacity.
Despite no mechanical or suspension differences, every Eclipse Cross sold in the U.S. market is rated to tow 1,500 pounds (680 kg) while in the Australian market, the towing capacity is rated at 1600 kg.

Mitsubishi has done a great job of making their vehicles smoother, more comfortable, and with fantastic visibility and maneuverability. Your Eclipse Cross has so many amazing features, including adaptive cruise control, multi-view camera system, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, front collision mitigation, heated side mirrors, auto-dimming rear view mirror, very comfortable and good-looking heated leather seats, great visibility, great maneuverability, great turning radius, and is fun to drive. It also has decent cargo space, good legroom and headroom, 2 skylights (1 opens, 1 stationary), satellite radio, hd radio, bluetooth connectivity for phones and music players, apple car play & android auto, tastefully tinted back seat windows, rear windows and skylights, and a smooth, comfortable, quiet ride. The Eclipse Cross looks fantastic on the outside and is nice and clean on the inside. The LED headlights are VERY good, and the eclipse also has LED fog lights, a feature that several competing manufacturers no longer offer. While the Eclipse Cross may not be a racing vehicle, it definitely has some decent torque for merging onto the highway. I'm sure you'll enjoy driving it for years to come. Hey there! I have a 22 EC, which I believe is an SE. Regardless, I'm not sure what's up with the negative comments from Edmunds. Weird, right? I've been driving since '91 and have had quite a few vehicles in my day, but this one is my favourite. The handling is actually quite good, and if you know how to use the gear paddles on the steering wheel, you can get more punch out of the engine when needed. I've had zero body roll, and the mileage is great for an SUV. Plus, it has a lot of tech that's easy to use. Do we actually need all these things? No, but we like them anyway. They're not essential, though. My two biggest issues are the lack of wireless charging and ventilated back seats. It's not exactly a small car, so I think that's something that needs addressing. My third issue is the placement of the heater and air conditioning. It's out of reach for the driver and distracting to use. If it were higher in the stack, it would make much better sense. By the way, have you researched the recalls on Hyundai and Kona? Countless warranty issues and engine fires galore. Mitsubishi has a much better warranty, and they're built like tanks. I absolutely love this car! It's such a comfortable ride and looks stunning. I'm a fan of unique vehicles and I rarely see any of these on the road. I chose to stay with Mitsubishi because of their safety and reliability, and I'm so glad I did. The interior on the SEL is beautiful, with a heated steering wheel and heated front and back seats. It's definitely a luxury car without the premium price tag. I also appreciate that AWC is now standard. Mitsubishi is an extremely safe and reliable brand that produces beautiful products. If you're considering upgrading to the SEL, I highly recommend it. The dual sunroof and moonroof are also great additions. Don't hesitate to check out Mitsubishi and take one for a test drive - you won't be disappointed!

I've owned a lot of SUVs in the past, but none of them compare to the Eclipse Cross. Its precision technology, comfortable and safe features, smooth ride, and confident handling on all kinds of roads, especially those equipped with S-AWC, make it stand out from the rest.

I purchased the 2020 Eclipse SE 2WD Model six months ago and have been enjoying it ever since. While the acceleration is decent around town, the CVT can make take-offs a bit tricky. However, if you give it some gas, it will respond appropriately. On the highway, the power delivery is very good and throttle input at speeds over 50 MPH is generally swift. During gusty winds, the vehicle stability can be compromised, but frequent steering corrections can help. In the city, the Eclipse is very nimble and easy to drive, making it a great choice for drivers who are afraid or lack the skills to drive larger vehicles. The handling is direct and secure, but there is some body roll when cornering. The suspension setup is a mixed bag, with overly soft springs and very stiff shock absorbers that can make it feel a bit bumpy on moderate-size bumps. The interior space is adequate for the size of the vehicle, and I found the construction materials to be very pleasant for a mainstream vehicle. I'm currently averaging 27 MPG on a 60% highway/40% city driving. The out-the-lot price for my SE 2WD trim was $24,500, which I found to be very reasonable, especially considering the generous Mitsubishi warranty. Additionally, dealership maintenance on these vehicles is very affordable.

10,000km later UPDATE: The power is barely sufficient, but the ride is very quiet. The fuel consumption on the highway is not so bad (32.6 mi./gal with Ecomode on). The traction system (S-AWD) is excellent and is considered the best on the market, even better than Subaru's. The interior is okay, but not more than that. Unfortunately, the seats are very uncomfortable and too narrow with unadjustable lumbar support. The handling is so-so and quickly oversteers (coming from a former Volkswagen driver...). The fog lights are powerful. The CVT transmission is...well, you don't want to know. As I said, it depends on what you are focusing on when buying a car. For my own part, I like the look and the S-AWD, which is one of the best on the market, if not the best. Otherwise, overall comfort and power are much perfectible, and unfortunately, I would not buy it again...
