2009 Maserati Granturismo problems
The Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio are a series of grand tourers produced by the Italian manufacturer Maserati, succeeding the Maserati Coupé and Spyder.
The first generation GranTurismo (M145) was introduced at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show and was produced from 2007 to December 2019. It set a record for the fastest development of a car, going from design to production in just nine months. The model featured a 4.2-litre V8 engine initially, which was later upgraded to a 4.7-liter engine in the GranTurismo S variant. The GranTurismo MC, a racing version developed for the FIA GT4 European Cup, and the GranTurismo MC Sport Line, a customisation programme, were also part of the lineup.
The GranTurismo Sport, introduced in 2012, replaced the GranTurismo S and featured a revised 4.7-litre engine rated at 460 PS (340 kW; 450 hp). The GranTurismo MC Stradale, unveiled in 2011, is a more aerodynamic version with a 450 PS (330 kW; 440 hp) engine and reaching a top speed of 303 kilometres per hour (188 mph). The GranCabrio, the convertible version, was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and produced from 2010 to 2019. The GranCabrio Sport, introduced in 2011, featured a 450 PS (330 kW; 440 hp) engine. The GranCabrio MC, launched in 2013, had improved aerodynamics and a 460 PS (340 kW; 450 hp) engine.
The second generation, GranTurismo II (M189), was revealed in 2022 and began production in April 2023. It offers three models: Modena, Trofeo, and Folgore (electric). Based on the Giorgio Sport platform, petrol engined models feature a newly-developed 3.0-litre Nettuno twin-turbocharged V6 engine, with the Trofeo variant being the most powerful at 550 PS (400 kW; 540 hp). The Folgore model is a battery electric version with a range of 450 kilometres (280 mi).

A bargain considering Pininfarina styling and Ferrari based technology with a 4yr/50,000 mile warranty. The 2+2 seating is larger than the BMW 6 series and the hand assembled interior is awesome. Of course, the engine sound is intoxicating and everyday driving is a pleasure. I enjoy this car more than my 911 and Lamborghini Gallardo.

I'm so glad to be sharing my thoughts on this Luxury Sports Car! It's an absolute joy to drive and the engine sounds absolutely marvelous. Even the rear seats have plenty of room for two passengers. I only wish I had purchased it earlier in life.

You have to see this car in person! Photos just don't do it justice. It's the ultimate executive car - comfortable, luxurious, and fun. Even though the back seat can fit two full-size adults, the car doesn't look large from the outside. The interior is so Italian that no German car can match it. And the best part? You won't find anyone else with one!

I absolutely love this new GranTurismo! It's the perfect combination of stunning looks and impressive performance. I've owned a BMW M5, 645ci, and Porsche 911, but none of them quite had everything I was looking for. I wanted a true grand touring car, something to take on trips to the Lake, Chicago, and Kentucky. This new GranTurismo fits the bill perfectly! The only downside I've found so far is that the seats tend to get really hot when parked in the sun and take a while to cool off (Bourdeaux). It would be fantastic if ventilated seats were an option.

In USA only 2009 had the automated manual option, since then all USA cars have the automatic. My 2011 S has around $20k in MC Line carbon fiber.

This is a stunning looking vehicle and it's quite rare to have 4 usable seats in this style of car. The gear box is excellent in manual sport mode, and while the brakes are only average, the S model will no doubt resolve these issues. It's an absolute joy to drive both long and short distances, and the engine has an enjoyable sound. In most areas, it does what it was designed to do, and really quite well. However, I have experienced some unacceptable problems with the prop shaft. Unfortunately, the vehicle is presently having its fifth shaft fitted. Additionally, the rear tires are wearing unevenly and at an unacceptable rate. Maserati has not been able to identify the cause or solution to the problem so far. I hope they can resolve these issues soon.
