2022 Lincoln Corsair problems
The Lincoln Corsair is a compact luxury crossover marketed and sold by the Lincoln brand of Ford Motor Company since the 2020 model year. It replaced the MKC.
In 2020, the Corsair was the best-selling vehicle for the Lincoln brand.
Overview
The Lincoln Corsair made its debut on April 17, 2019 at the New York Auto Show and shares its underpinnings with the 2020 Ford Escape. The Corsair joins the Lincoln Nautilus (previously the Lincoln MKX), Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln Continental, and Lincoln Navigator in the Lincoln model line. The name "Corsair" has previously been used on several other Ford Motor Company products including the Edsel Corsair and the British Ford Corsair.
The Corsair is available in Base, Reserve, and Grand Touring trims, the latter of which is available as a gasoline/electric hybrid only.
The Corsair went on sale in the fall of 2019 and is offered in gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions. Chinese deliveries began in May 2020.
The transmission is no longer activated with a center console installed transmission selector; the computer controlled transmission uses buttons installed below the MyLincoln Touch infotainment touch screen labeled "P, R, N, D, S", In the late 1950s a similar feature was offered on all 1957 and 1958 Mercury sedans called Multi-Drive. During the same time, Chrysler offered the push button TorqueFlite and Packard offered the Ultramatic. The "S" transmission selection represents "Sport" mode, where the Continuously Controlled Damping suspension, electric power steering and transmission shift points take on a different posture.
In 2023, the Corsair received a facelift.

- Summary: Electrical connector and wiring harness melted due to close proximity to the right rear exhaust pipe. Experiencing intermittent parking brake fault messages that results in a check engine light, when climbing a grade longer then 1 mile long. Suspect extra heat produced from engine load had damaged some of the internal wires of the connector. This first occurred with 2000 miles on the odometer, 2 months old. Lincoln started producing these GT model Corsairs with a heat shield missing (that was part of 2021 and some 2022 models) that probably would have protected this wiring harness. Not sure what circuits are running through this connector, but their are a lot of wires in it. The connector is melted enough that it probably cannot be unplugged anymore. There is melted plastic residue on the exhaust pipe from the connector. Dealer has confirmed the melted connecter and zip tied the connector further away from the exhaust pipe as a temporary fix till they can investigate further.

SEAT BELTS,SEATS,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-07-01
- VIN: 5LMCJ2C94NU
- Components: SEAT BELTS,SEATS,ENGINE
- Summary: The seat belts in my vehicle takes two to three times to click and stay, the back seat belt on the passenger side was stuck and could not be worn for about a month after the vehicle was driven from Odessa, Tx to me in Memphis, TN on July 1, 2022. The head rest on the passenger side will not adjust at all. It is still stuck forward and is hard to rest my head against it. The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems has stopped working since I got the truck, the steering wheel use to put the vehicle back in my lane but it does not do that anymore. I'm not sure what the difference is between the lane departure warning and the lane keeping assistance but it seems neither one works. Last, but not least the vehicle has a smell coming from it like something is burning under the hood. This vehicle already has two recalls and I called the dealership in Memphis, TN and spoke with Allison and she told me the parts for these recalls were not in and that I really did not have to get them fixed!!!!! I live in Southaven, Mississippi and have been trying to get rid of this vehicle since February because it is not worth the money and I am having a very hard time getting a decent offer for it so I won't be so much upside down on the next vehicle I choose. This is my first Lincoln and my last!!!! Oh and not to mention, the first recall was December 2022 and I received the mail regarding the recall February 12th or later. One more thing I need to mention, the driver seat hurts to sit in, it's like the seat digs into your thighs. There is lumbar support for your back in the front seats but it feels like seat cushion have an issue with being too hard.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-11-30
- VIN: 5LMCJ1D98NU
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Prior issue 11497970 reported on 12/19/2022. Car stopped without warning in traffic on November 30 and would not start or switch gears to neutral. Towed to Hines Park Lincoln and spent 16 days in the repair shop. It was returned to me on December 15. On December 20, I started the car to drive it for a first test drive around the block. It traveled 2 houses and stopped. After several tries, I got it started and made it to the front of my driveway (blocking the entrance). The car was totally dead. The first tow truck driver could not get it on the flatbed as the wheels were locked. The second truck had rollers to move the car onto the flatbed. My wife will not ride in the car as she does not feel safe. Obviously, if the car stops suddenly on a busy highway or expressway, or any road, it will likely end up in a rearend collision of at least 2 cars. It has a dangerous, safety issue. We don't want the car anymore. Can you do anything to help us?
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-11-30
- VIN: 5LMCJ1D98NU
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The car unexpectantly stopped on Nov. 30 and would not start on a residential road close to a traffic light. It totally conked out and nothing worked except for the hazard lights. Cars had to be diverted around us in busy traffic, The tow truck driver could not get it in neutral and had to take something apart on the dashboard console. The dealership worked for days pulling the plugs, cleaning them, replacing them and the car continued to die out. Their Hotline advised them to use carb clean. which got it started. They tested it for 5 miles and delivered it back Dec. 15. It has been parked in our garage ever since as we don't feel safe driving the car at this point. If the problem recurs, especially on the expressway, we would likely die with the car, as well as involving other people. The car is 9 months old with 6000 miles on it. This was not a simple repair and may or may not have permanently solved the problem. With this terrifying experience, we do not feel safe in the car. This is a leased, practically new car with a dangerous problem.

Traded in my 2020 Ford Escape for a 2022 Lincoln Corsair. I'm absolutely thrilled with it! The car rides so smoothly and it's just so attractive.

New 2021 Lincoln Corsair Reserve. This is a significant improvement from the 2019 MKC, which was already a nice car. Lincoln is successfully attracting a younger crowd (under 65 years old) with a more 'German' driving style and interior design, similar to how GENESIS is appealing to BMW drivers. I am excited to see where the next generation of Lincoln cars will take us. I have absolutely no regrets driving this Corsair.

The Lincoln Corsair is an excellent choice for a luxury compact SUV. It comes with a wide range of standard comfort and safety features that make driving a pleasure. Once you get behind the wheel of a Lincoln Corsair, you won't want to stop. The driving experience is comfortable, luxurious, and calm. I've been a loyal Lincoln customer since 2021, and I have no desire to switch to another brand for my luxury vehicle needs.

Luxury starts with the ride. While the Ford suspension engineers may have missed the mark on this one, there are still plenty of other options to consider. The power seat controls on the side of the driver's door may be a bit tricky to operate, but with a little practice, they can be managed. Additionally, some may find the front half of the console to be unnecessary, but it's always good to have extra storage space. While the Ford Edge IP layout may be more to your liking, the Corsair still has plenty of great features to offer. We appreciate your feedback and hope to find a vehicle that better suits your needs.

If you are considering replacing your Lincoln MKX, I would like to share my experience with you. Unfortunately, I have found that Lincoln has made some changes to this car that may not be to everyone's liking. The car is smaller and lower to the ground, and the gears are difficult to reach as they are located under a ledge. Additionally, the sunroof only goes halfway back. I regret my decision to purchase this car, but I hope that my experience can help you make an informed decision. If you do decide to purchase this car, I would recommend avoiding Parks Lincoln in Tampa.

Hey there! If you're looking to save some money, you might want to consider other options. Unfortunately, the auto stop-start feature isn't working as well as it should and there's a rattling noise coming from the rear door area. Even after replacing the fuel pump, the vibration noise is still present. It seems like Ford is having trouble finding a solution to this issue. Hope this helps!

I recently purchased a 2022 Lincoln Corsair Reserve, however, I must say that I am not impressed with it so far. As someone who values a good sound system, I was disappointed to find that the Corsair's sound quality is comparable to that of a transistor radio from the 1960s. Given the price of the car and the fact that it is a Lincoln, I had expected it to at least match the quality of my previous Ford Escape.

I recently leased the 2021 Corsair after my MKC lease was up. I was impressed with the sleek body style and the attractive dash with the bigger screen and modern design. However, I have noticed that the gear changes are located in the middle where you would normally place items or charge your phone. Even the slightest touch seems to change the normal gear to slippery or hazardous conditions, which can be frustrating while driving. At times, I have a hard time adjusting the mode and it causes my car to drive in a slower mode. I have brought this to the attention of my Lincoln dealer, but they found no defect. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue? Thank you for your help!
