2020 Lincoln Corsair problems
The Lincoln Corsair is a compact luxury crossover marketed and sold by the Lincoln brand of Ford Motor Company since the 2020 model year. It replaced the MKC.
In 2020, the Corsair was the best-selling vehicle for the Lincoln brand.
Overview
The Lincoln Corsair made its debut on April 17, 2019 at the New York Auto Show and shares its underpinnings with the 2020 Ford Escape. The Corsair joins the Lincoln Nautilus (previously the Lincoln MKX), Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln Continental, and Lincoln Navigator in the Lincoln model line. The name "Corsair" has previously been used on several other Ford Motor Company products including the Edsel Corsair and the British Ford Corsair.
The Corsair is available in Base, Reserve, and Grand Touring trims, the latter of which is available as a gasoline/electric hybrid only.
The Corsair went on sale in the fall of 2019 and is offered in gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions. Chinese deliveries began in May 2020.
The transmission is no longer activated with a center console installed transmission selector; the computer controlled transmission uses buttons installed below the MyLincoln Touch infotainment touch screen labeled "P, R, N, D, S", In the late 1950s a similar feature was offered on all 1957 and 1958 Mercury sedans called Multi-Drive. During the same time, Chrysler offered the push button TorqueFlite and Packard offered the Ultramatic. The "S" transmission selection represents "Sport" mode, where the Continuously Controlled Damping suspension, electric power steering and transmission shift points take on a different posture.
In 2023, the Corsair received a facelift.

We then had to go to a Lincoln Dealer and they also had trouble with the computer system and were finally able to inspect the vehicle somehow, but not sure how they were able to finally inspect the vehicle. When we took our vehicle in to the Lincoln Dealer in September 2023 for the Temporary Fix for the Recall Notice 23S23 Blue or Black Image on the SYNC screen, again, the Dealer was not able to accomplish this because of the vehicle Computer System not being able to interface. - Summary: We were traveling east on I-80 just before exit 151. When the panoramic sunroof exploded in the corsair. The sound was as loud as a gun shot going off by your head, I was lucky that the sound did not cause me to veer into another lane and cause a multi vehicle accident. My ears rang for 4 hours after the incident. The glass shattered from front to rear of sun roof in small pieces. My wife and I were lucky that we had the sun shade closed or we would have suffered injuries from the glass that shattered inward into the sun shade. In my 42 years of having a CDL and 20 years of being a vice president of safety and risk for a large trucking company. This was one of the most frightening incidents that I have been involved in.
POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-07-29
- VIN: 5LMCJ1C91LU
- Components: POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: While driving with cruise control set, an pre-collision assist not available warning showed on the dashboard. Cruise control automatically switched off and the immediately slowed even when pressing the gas pedal. The vehicle began to jerk as if the brakes were automatically activated. When able to safely pull over and stop the vehicle, it would not go into park nor would it turn off. The vehicle would only turn off and start when the emergency parking brake had been applied. After inspection at a certified dealership and maintenance shop, the vehicle was diagnosed with major transmission malfunction. The transmission fluid had been completely burned out and metal shavings were present. I asked how could this happen, especially when the necessary maintenance service checks and procedures were in order. The technician said he didn't know. I checked the manufacturer's recall listing and there is a recall on the transmission but that particular recall did not affect my particular VIN. Now the manufacturer refuses to discuss this issue with me, stating that due to proprietary reasons they could not offer me any further assistance or information. Total repair cost = $10,675.67 $4000.00 has been offered as part of the Ford goodwill program. Unfortunately all warranties have expired due to mileage, except the powertrain, which I was told did not include the transmission. 2020 Lincoln Corsair 139, 117 miles This is a first time event for my vehicle. My vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic on the highway. No injuries involved.

AIR BAGS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-12-26
- Number Of Injuries: 1
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 5LMCJ2D95LU
- Components: AIR BAGS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: I was involved in a front-end collision a ~7 ton commercial vehicle, their fault due to distracted driving while using a cell phone, in which the forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and air bags failed. My Corsair had to be towed since it did not run after the accident, the drivers door could not open, so had to crawl out the passenger side. The Corsair was taken to an autobody shop that day and within a week their preliminary visual estimate without tearing down was over half the value of the vehicle and has since been declared a total loss. I sustained injuries in the accident that will be treated for some time and can only speculate that had systems worked, there could have been a chance for less severe injuries or potentially avoided the collision altogether. The autobody shop and insurance has all commented they were surprised none of the safety features worked, but no root cause has been documented as to why. At the time of the accident, all recalls were considered up-to-date and the vehicle has been very well maintained to by a Ford dealer and to the specifications of the owners manual. There were no warning lamps.

Lots of room for a 6.4 driver and plenty of legroom. I also own a Corsair reserve with the 2.3 engine and all I can say is it's wonderful! The engine is powerful and it comes with a lot of equipment like the 24-way seats with massage...wow! I highly recommend the 20-inch wheels on the vehicle, it changes the game and gives it a sporty touch with a hint of class.

The Lincoln Corsair is the best SUV I've ever driven. It handles great, has super gas mileage, and a very smooth ride. There isn't a thing that I would change.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I noticed that your 39 month test drive (lease) is coming to an end soon and you're planning on purchasing the vehicle. That's great news! From what you've described, it sounds like you've had a really positive experience with the car. The vehicle is quick, quiet, and comfortable, and shifting is flawless even in excite mode where other vehicles usually just hang up on higher revs. I'm glad to hear that the Faux leather seats are comfortable on your back, even on a 500 mile trip. Additionally, the 18 inch wheels provide the best ride quality. It's great that you use premium gas for top performance and engine wear. I can understand why you've looked at several comparable vehicles in anticipation of lease end, but I think keeping the one you have is your best option. As I read 1&2 star reviews of other vehicles as well as yours, I wouldn't buy any of them. You would be crazy not to keep the one you have. It has been perfect! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day!

The car is absolutely stunning with an asking price of $57K and a 2.3 L Turbo engine. Coming from a loaded Jeep, I have to say that I've never experienced a better infotainment system than Chrysler's U-Connect, which is the industry standard. Although the Corsair's system is not as good in comparison, it's still decent. The seats are not as comfortable as the Jeep's, but they are still quite comfortable. I've gotten used to them now. The drive train is fantastic, with great shifting and acceleration, as well as good steering and braking. The ride is smooth and quiet on the highway, and even in the city with its potholes and bumps, it's still good. The collision warning system is a great feature that comes in handy. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, and I always get compliments on the car. Although the seat memory can be forgetful at times, and the auto lift gate has lifted slowly and halfway up a couple of times, it seems to fix itself after the car is turned off and restarted. For the price of this car, I expected it to be perfect, but it's still a great car overall. The lane change warning is on the HUD in the Corsair, whereas it was audible in my last car, and I have to say that I prefer the audible warning. To me, this is just a car, and I don't have a love affair with it like I have had with others I've owned. Would I buy it again? Maybe. I'll definitely comparison shop next time.

I've been driving my Standard 2.0 Corsair for a month now and I absolutely love it! It's an excellent value and provides an excellent ride. The vehicle comes with tons of safety features as standard, which actually lowered my insurance from my 2016 Audi A3 Cabrolet. The Corsair is the lowest priced vehicle I could find on the lot, and that's perfectly fine with me because it has everything I need. I chose the Pristine White exterior and the sandstone interior, and OMG I love it! It's just what I wanted in a small SUV. This is my first Lincoln, and it's perfect!

The vehicle's engine produces excessive noise, and it struggles to handle bumps while exhibiting a weak front end. Additionally, there is a persistent roaring noise emanating from the right rear. Despite replacing both front hubs, the issue remains unresolved and continues to be a source of irritation.

Hello, when I first leased this vehicle, everything was fine. However, after 6 months, I started experiencing some issues. I received messages stating that the car was entering Deep Sleep Mode and over the course of three months, I received at least 35 of these messages. The battery died on two occasions and I had to have the car towed to the dealership. The dealership's solution was to charge the battery, which worked for a few weeks before the cycle repeated itself. The service technician found a wiring issue and that eventually solved the problem. The second issue was more troubling. Leaving work one day, I started the car and got a message that stated, 'Vehicle Network Communication Error'. The whole dashboard went out, the windows wouldn't let down, I couldn't open the trunk, adjust the mirrors, etc. Luckily, I was able to drive it home. The next day, the battery was totally dead and I had to have the car towed back to the dealership. The technician said it was a fuse, which was not covered under warranty, so I had to pay out of pocket. Approximately 6 months later, the car did the exact same thing in a Kroger parking lot. It was in the shop for three days and each time I called and asked for an update, they couldn't tell me what the issue was. Finally, after a conversation with the chief engineer, it was determined that there was a shortage in the dashboard. I can only hope that the issue is now fixed. I truly believe that modern vehicles have too much technology and the service technicians are not trained thoroughly enough to diagnose these problems and fix them correctly the first time. I tried to get out of this lease early, but unfortunately, Lincoln wouldn't buy the car back. Needless to say, when this lease is up, this will certainly be my last Lincoln product.

Can you believe that the Lincoln Corsair, which is supposed to be a luxury brand vehicle, comes without an engine manifold cover? I even spoke with the local Lincoln dealership, and they confirmed that Lincoln stopped placing manifold covers on the Corsair as a cost-saving procedure. It's surprising that you don't even find a manifold cover under the hood of a lower-priced Hyundai. What's unfortunate is that Lincoln did not even modify the design and left the two screw holes where you would normally secure the cover! I asked about purchasing one, but they are not even in the parts catalog. It's disappointing that Lincoln cannot even match a Hyundai with a manifold cover, and the Corsair is priced thousands of dollars more than the Hyundai. It's important to pay attention to details, and unfortunately, Lincoln has failed on this one. Who appreciates raising the hood only to see a mass of wires, tubing, etc.?

seat memory failure, at times will push you forward right up to the steering wheel .I have to constantly readjust seat position . even if memory 1 or 2 is pushed it never seems to go back to the exact location .

The Corsair is a stylish vehicle with great features, especially if you have the reserve model. However, I have had some issues with Lincoln support not being able to fix safety recalls such as the blue screen, rear brake assist malfunction, 360 camera recall, and seat belt recall. I have been to the dealership 8 times and the recalls still have not been fixed. Unfortunately, Lincoln has refused to compensate me for selling me a lemon.
