Lincoln Corsair problems

The Lincoln Corsair is a compact luxury crossover marketed and sold by the Lincoln brand of Ford Motor Company since the 2020 model year. It replaced the MKC.
In 2020, the Corsair was the best-selling vehicle for the Lincoln brand.
Overview
The Lincoln Corsair made its debut on April 17, 2019 at the New York Auto Show and shares its underpinnings with the 2020 Ford Escape. The Corsair joins the Lincoln Nautilus (previously the Lincoln MKX), Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln Continental, and Lincoln Navigator in the Lincoln model line. The name "Corsair" has previously been used on several other Ford Motor Company products including the Edsel Corsair and the British Ford Corsair.
The Corsair is available in Base, Reserve, and Grand Touring trims, the latter of which is available as a gasoline/electric hybrid only.
The Corsair went on sale in the fall of 2019 and is offered in gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions. Chinese deliveries began in May 2020.
The transmission is no longer activated with a center console installed transmission selector; the computer controlled transmission uses buttons installed below the MyLincoln Touch infotainment touch screen labeled "P, R, N, D, S", In the late 1950s a similar feature was offered on all 1957 and 1958 Mercury sedans called Multi-Drive. During the same time, Chrysler offered the push button TorqueFlite and Packard offered the Ultramatic. The "S" transmission selection represents "Sport" mode, where the Continuously Controlled Damping suspension, electric power steering and transmission shift points take on a different posture.
In 2023, the Corsair received a facelift.

- Date Complaint: 2024-03-17
- VIN: 5LMCJ2DA0PU
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Purchased car in early January 2024 and on February 18th the vehicle wouldn't start. Got the vehicle to start after jumping it and drove straight to the dealership to have it checked / repaired. The car has been in the dealership service bay ever since. I worked with dealership and then escalated the issue to Lincoln Concierge Group (corporate office). I am told it is an issue with the Audio Control Module (ACM) where the electronics continue to draw down on the battery even after the car is shut off. The Lincoln programmers have taken multiple attempts to fix the problem ... all unsuccessfully. The new car has been in the dealership for OVER a month now. They have provided a loaner in the meantime but that is little consolation for the time and concerns we have with the vehicle purchased. I have asked that they consider the vehicle a lemon and allow for acquisition of another Lincoln. These requests have been denied but may be considered in the future. Looking for assistance in resolving this issue.

The 2021 Lincoln Corsair is a luxurious and sporty SUV that exudes class and sophistication. Its smooth and quiet ride provides a feeling of elegance and refinement. The safety features, including side and rear warnings, have already proven to be effective. The Corsair handles exceptionally well, and in just one week, I put 2000 miles on it while averaging about 28.2 mpg. I highly recommend this vehicle, and there is so much more to love about it. Although I did have some issues with service after claiming a continued issue, I still believe that the Corsair is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a luxurious and sporty SUV.

Vehicle year: 2022
I've only had this vehicle for a week, so it's too early for an accurate review. However, my first impression is mostly favorable, unlike some other reviews I've read online. The vehicle has started out tight and rattle-free with plenty of power and comfort. It has all of the option packages, which make it even more complicated than the base plug-in hybrid version. I'll be going through the 673-page owner's manual for some time, it seems. One thing I would have preferred is less plastic in the interior. Granted, it's mostly in the areas that you don't readily see. But still, this is supposed to be a luxury SUV. Also, it's disappointing that a rear cargo cover is optional and an engine appearance cover isn't even available at all, given the premium price you have to pay for this vehicle. Finally, this vehicle only has Sync 3. I think that all Lincoln models should have been the first Ford products to get Sync 4, befitting their luxury status. But what can you do? I knew all of this going in, and I still bought the vehicle anyway. Every time I gaze upon her beautiful ocean drive blue exterior and sandstone interior, all is forgiven. After all, who said buying a vehicle was always based on rational decisions anyway?

Lots of room for a 6.4 driver and plenty of legroom. I also own a Corsair reserve with the 2.3 engine and all I can say is it's wonderful! The engine is powerful and it comes with a lot of equipment like the 24-way seats with massage...wow! I highly recommend the 20-inch wheels on the vehicle, it changes the game and gives it a sporty touch with a hint of class.

Vehicle year: 2020
This vehicle is truly impressive! It boasts an array of safety and tech features that are second to none. Additionally, it has all the luxury appointments one would expect from a high-end vehicle. I opted for the reserve model with every possible option, which cost me $53,000. I considered purchasing The Nautilus, but I ultimately decided on the Corsair due to its compact size, which makes parking and handling a breeze. The Nautilus, on the other hand, feels like an older generation vehicle. Since I usually drive alone, I don't require any more space than the Corsair offers. I also looked at Mercedes and Porsche, but the additional $20,000 cost was not worth it. The only issue I've encountered is that the phone as a key feature doesn't work with my iPhone 11, and Lincoln customer service has been less than helpful. Although they promised to call back, they rarely do, and when they do, they are not very knowledgeable about the car. One representative even admitted to being new and knowing less about the car than I did. Another issue is the missing cargo area cover, which is shown in the owner's manual but not included in any of the cars I've seen. Unfortunately, neither the salesperson nor the concierge knows how to obtain one.

This car is amazing! It's both sporty and quiet, which I absolutely love. As someone who has leased three Fords in the past (including the Edge and Escape), I can confidently say that this car is a whole step up. The interior is spacious and comfortable, which is great for me as a tall woman. The gas mileage is impressive and it rides so smoothly on the highways. I've received many compliments on how sporty and stylish it looks, and I always respond with 'I love it!' Despite being on the high side of middle age, I didn't want a car that felt like my grandpa's Lincoln, and this car definitely doesn't. The back seat is also very roomy, which is a huge plus. I've had this car for 5 months now and haven't had any problems. In fact, I'm still discovering new features that I didn't even know existed!

Pros: I really like the look of this car. The 2.0 engine is powerful enough for me and I'm getting great gas mileage on the highway, now that it has some miles on it. The interior is beautiful and the front of the cabin is quiet. The Revel audio system is quite good and there are lots of great features. Everything you need is well placed. The drivetrain has been very reliable and the HVAC system is excellent. Cons: Unfortunately, the build quality is not up to par. Some features tend to malfunction, such as the liftgate, power seats, and auto hold. There are more creaks, pops, squeaks, and rattles than any car should have, especially a Lincoln. Even the seats have become noisy. There is a carpeted exterior wheel liner that falls loose and looks awful. The dealer said it was fixed twice, but it's still hanging loose. One final annoyance is that it does not like to accept fuel. Filling up takes forever with the gas filler neck unable to accept more than a trickle. There is so much to like about this Corsair, but unfortunately, there are so many irritations that I won't be purchasing another Lincoln. It is telling that Consumer Reports ranked Lincoln dead last in reliability and they aren't completely wrong.

Hey there! As someone who works in IT, I've been experiencing a few software glitches lately that haven't been the most enjoyable. On top of that, I had to replace a dead battery, but I'm chalking that up to lack of driving due to COVID. Every now and then, I run into some system anomalies after starting up my car, such as backup assist failure, collision assist failure, Apple Carplay failure, and freezing of the audio controls. However, I've found that turning off the vehicle, opening and closing the door, and restarting usually does the trick. Hope this helps!

I absolutely love the look of this vehicle, both inside and out. The steering wheel feels great and it handles very well. I have the 2.0 and it has plenty of power to merge onto the highway or dodge out of the way of others. Coming from a Durango Citadel, this feels super sporty. The brakes are worth mentioning here; they are very grippy and do a great job of stopping the vehicle. You just have to get used to the responsiveness and for me, the brake pedal seems to stick out too far. The sound system is surprisingly good. I was impressed with how well the music from my phone sounded. I also appreciate the quietness of the cabin area. You still hear some road noise, but it is a quieter interior and the seal of the doors makes it feel 'pressurized' at times. The center entertainment center is nice and I like the options. Some of them could be one touch versus having to make several touches to the screen, but overall it's great. I found it odd that the rear defrost controls the defrost on the side mirrors, but it's not a big deal. I am wondering about the accuracy of the temperature setting, but I'll have to test it out more. I am really enjoying the safety features. The brake warning is in your face with the red flashing, which is great. I also like receiving email alerts when I go over the preset speed I have programmed. I love being able to program the two remotes for two different people with their preferences on seat, music, temperature, speed warning, etc. The lighted welcome mat and folding mirrors are a nice touch. I cannot comment on the MPG as I came from a large SUV, so the MPG on this is great to me. Mostly city/town with a bit of highway, I am averaging 25.6 mpg. Not sure how much one would use the various drive modes, but they seem like a fun feature. Overall, there is a lot to love about this vehicle and a few things to consider. One thing to note is that I feel every gear shift, which is something I did not pay attention to while test driving. On the highway, it feels like I am gliding on air, which is great. However, I have noticed that city/town driving with stop and go traffic acceleration can be a bit flawed. When I first got the car with 46 miles on her, I felt every shift and stutter when pulling out of a stop. However, I have noticed that she is improving as we are nearing the break-in mileage. Still, for a luxury vehicle, one would expect a smoother shift versus the gentle jerk. I tried the various drive modes and found that 'excite' mode does shift smoother. Additionally, I feel like I can feel every bump in the road. Perhaps this is because I am going from a large SUV with AWD to a smaller vehicle? In the cargo area, if you fold the second-row seats, they do not go down all the way. I do like being able to pull the second-row seats forward for a few extra inches of storage, but Lincoln forgot to put a flap there to prevent the gap. Lincoln excelled in some areas with the little touches, but failed in real-world use/practicality. What I HATE: For the life of me, I cannot find a comfortable seat position. I am 4' 11My cup has a handle on it, which blocks the second cup holder from being used. The cup holders in this vehicle are super small and the second row cup holders are not very practical. Even using a non-handled beverage cup, the holders are small and not all beverages fit right. If there are two beverages, accessing your beverage is tight and requires picking up from the top. How many times have we experienced a lid coming off from doing just that? The so-called 'drink holder' in the doors are not drink holders, those are storage bins in the doors. This could be improved by Lincoln. Unless you have a water bottle with a screw-on lid, you will spill your beverage if you attempt to use the space. In the Durango, the door drink holder was a designated drink holder separate from the storage area. Overall, if I could get comfortable with the seats, the little things would not stick out as much and I could recommend this vehicle. I love it, even with the flaws, but the seats really are that bad.

I recently purchased a Corsair, but unfortunately, after only 6 months, it wouldn't start and had to be towed in. Although the dealership initially promised to pick up and deliver the vehicle for service, they were unable to do so in this case. Despite these issues, I must say that the dealership staff were friendly and helpful when I had to Uber there. However, I did experience some problems with the vehicle itself, such as the hood shimmying on the highway and the automatic transmission feeling like a stick shift in Excite mode. When I brought these issues to the dealership's attention, they informed me that this was normal for the vehicle. Ultimately, I decided to trade it in after 9 months, but unfortunately lost 11k in the process, despite the vehicle only having 4k miles on it.
