Common 2016 Lexus Gs 350 problems

Based on the complaints from owners of the Lexus GS 350 2016, here are some common problems with this car:

  1. High Pressure Fuel Pump Cover Damage and Fuel Leaks: Some 2016 to 2018 models have been recalled due to the risk of the high pressure fuel pump cover becoming damaged over time, leading to fuel leaks that can result in a vehicle fire. The repair involves replacing both high pressure fuel pumps with new improved replacements.
  2. Navigation System Screen Issues: The navigation system screen in some vehicles is prone to random reboots, flashing pink or purple, or going blank. Performing a software update can resolve this problem.
  3. Noisy Rear Wheel Bearings: Between 100,000 and 150,000 miles, rear wheel bearings in some vehicles may become noisy and require replacement.
  4. Water Pump Cooling Leaks: The water pump in some vehicles is prone to developing cooling leaks between 130,000 and 160,000 miles.
  5. High Friction Brake Pads Squealing: The OEM high friction brake pads are prone to squealing when braking at low speeds. Lexus offers replacement brake pads made of a different material to eliminate this issue.
  6. CV Boots Tear: Over time, CV boots are prone to tearing, allowing dirt to enter and damage the CV joint.
  7. Noisy Serpentine Belt Tensioner and Idler Pulleys: The bearings of the serpentine belt tensioner and idler pulleys in some vehicles may become noisy before reaching 100,000 miles.
  8. AC Evaporator Mildew Accumulation: Some vehicles may experience mildew accumulation in the AC evaporator, causing a bad smell when the AC is on, especially in humid climates. Running the heater at the highest setting and replacing the cabin filter frequently can help minimize this issue.
  9. Catalytic Converter Failure: Catalytic converters in some vehicles are prone to failing between 150,000 and 200,000 miles.
  10. TPMS Sensor Failures: TPMS sensors are prone to failing over time, leading to the TPMS light illuminating on the dashboard.

These problems highlight various issues that owners of the Lexus GS 350 2016 have encountered, ranging from safety concerns like fuel leaks to comfort and maintenance issues such as noisy components and AC odors. Regular maintenance and prompt attention to these problems can help ensure the longevity and performance of the vehicle.

Negative 2016 Lexus Gs 350 car reviews

I recently purchased a 2015 CPO F-sport, but unfortunately, I have not been satisfied with my experience so far. Despite my history of keeping cars for 6-8 years, I am already considering trading it in after only one month. While the car looks nice and has a sporty appearance with the F-Sport package, it has several drawbacks. The acceleration is lacking, and the transmission seems to get stuck in higher gears for too long, which is not ideal for an 8-speed Tranny. Additionally, the seats are uncomfortable, and the handling is only average, especially with the 19-inch wheels. The car also lacks some basic features, such as a holder for sunglasses and a visor extender to block the sun. The electronics are complicated, and the mouse-like controller is difficult to use. Overall, I believe that the car is overpriced for what it offers, with 4-cylinder acceleration and 6-cylinder gas mileage. Despite these issues, I am confident in my decision to trade it in while it is still under CPO warranty.

Hello! I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my experience with the navigation system in my Lexus. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing some issues with it since January 2019. Despite four updates, the system still doesn't seem to be working correctly. I even test drove a 2018 Lexus and found the same issue. While I have had success with my portable Garmin GPS units, I have not had the same luck with my Lexus/Toyota system. I have reached out to the corporate management in Torrance and Irvine, CA via certified letters and phone calls, but have not received a response. I understand that these things can take time, but I am disappointed that my concerns have not been addressed. The Riverside and Newport dealerships have also been unable to fix the issue. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you for your time.

Big bones performance- Engine, transmission, and handling are wonderful. However, the technology package is HORRIBLE. It is totally unintuitive and completely missed the mark. I can't believe how little thought was put into very basic controls. I must say, I am disappointed beyond words.

Positive 2016 Lexus Gs 350 car reviews

Nov2020 - Status is still the same. This car is great if you take care of it. In May 2020, we still loved this car even though it had 60k miles on it. During quarantine, we discovered that if you don't drive it for a couple of weeks, the battery dies. Lexus advised us that it's because the computers continue to work when it's not driven. Even though they are not pulling much power over a period of time, it will drain the battery. In November 2019, we still loved this car and had no complaints. Everything still works like it should. In May 2019, the below review was still accurate and we still loved this car. In November 2018, the below review was still accurate. In November 2017, I still loved this car. It's quiet, sporty, well-built, and the all-around best sedan I've ever owned. Park Place Lexus in Grapevine, TX made our purchase a very pleasant experience. We were in and out in about 3 hours, including the test drive. The car we chose had only 2000 miles and we paid $16,000 less than a 2016 comparably equipped, just because our vehicle was red. Apparently, people still believe the urban myth that red cars get more tickets, so Park Place was making a deal to move it. This GS is smoother, faster, quieter, and more comfortable than my BMW 330i was. The 6-year unlimited miles warranty on certified Lexus is unbeatable. We originally looked at the RC350 F Sport, but moved to the GS for more room and comfort. The GS is just as fast anyway and offers more trunk space for traveling.

  2. Rolando Emmerich 2025-03-23

The car not only looks great from the outside, but the interior is also impressive. The build quality and finishing are on par with Lexus standards, which is exactly what we expected from them. The car is quiet, handles well, and comes with amazing safety and convenience features. It also has a great fuel economy, as we got 32 MPG on the highway. We considered other luxury brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, but we believe that this car's ride quality is just as good, if not better, and the overall quality and reliability surpasses the others. We have a Nebula Gray model with tinted windows, and it looks absolutely classy. We are very pleased with our purchase.

The latest generation GS350 F-Sport from Lexus is a proper, fun-to-drive sports sedan that finally gets it right. The car boasts quick, precise steering, grippy roadholding, and an engine that loves to rev and hold gear. The F-sport package's 18-way seats hold you in place, accompanied by bigger brakes, adjustable dampers, and aggressive throttle mapping. When you're hustling along, the 'sport +' mode makes this car feel smaller than it is. Lexus has targeted what BMW used to be in its hey-day with this car. The back seat is a good size, though not as large as say, the current E-class Benz. The mouse-based entertainment system takes some getting used to, but works fine otherwise, and voice-command is vastly improved from earlier iterations. The icing on the cake was the price of the '15's. The '16's were trickling in with some minor styling tweaks, but the '15s were thus getting hefty discounts across the board, making selecting this car a no-brainer.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to let you know that I recently traded in my 2014 Lexus and got $2k equity for a 2016 fsport. I absolutely love the excellent power, handling, luxury, infotainment, and all safety features such as the precollision system, lane departure, and pedestrian alert. The 4 wheel steering, heads up display, and drive modes are also fantastic features. While the gas mileage could be better, I still feel like I got a lot of car for my money. My 2014 Lexus was incredibly reliable - I only had to change the oil and fill up the gas tank, and I never had to change the tires or brakes. Overall, I had a great experience with my Lexus and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and luxurious car!

  5. Muhammad Prohaska 2025-01-02

This car is a great combination of comfort, reliability, and quality from Lexus/Toyota, with the added bonus of a powerful engine. The engine/transmission combo is perfectly suited for many driving styles, making it a great choice for interstate driving. The Fsport model is sporty, and while the ride can be a bit stiff on certain roads, this was easily remedied by changing the tires to Pirelli Cinturato P7 all season plus. The Mark Levinson sound system is a must-have and has become one of my favorite car stereos, even compared to aftermarket options. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and the cabin is quiet, although not quite as hushed as an LS. As someone who has mostly driven German cars and one other Japanese car, I can confidently say that the initial build quality of this car is up there with the best.
