2021 Land rover Range rover problems
The Land Rover Range Rover, generally shortened to Range Rover, is a 4x4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover, a marque and sub-brand of Jaguar Land Rover. The Range Rover line was launched in 1970 by British Leyland and is now in its fifth generation.
Additional models have been launched under the Range Rover name, including the Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and Range Rover Velar.
History
The Rover Company (originator of the Land Rover marque) was experimenting with a larger model than the Land Rover Series in 1951, when the Rover P4-based two-wheel-drive "Road Rover" project was developed by Gordon Bashford. This was shelved in 1958 and the idea lay dormant until 1966, when engineers Spen King and Bashford set to work on a new model.
The first Range Rover prototype was built in 1967 with plate number SYE 157F. The design of the Range Rover was finalised in 1969. Twenty-six Velar-badged engineering development vehicles were built between 1969 and 1970 and were road registered with the number plates YVB151H through to YVB177H.
Though being chassis no. 3, YVB 153H is believed to have been the first off the production line as a vehicle in that colour was urgently required for marketing. (The Range Rover with chassis no. 1 was a green model with the registration "YVB 151H", and is now on exhibition at Huddersfield Land Rover Centre, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire). The Velar name was derived from the Italian "velare" meaning to veil or to cover. Range Rover development engineer Geof Miller used the name as a decoy for registering pre-production Range Rovers. The Velar company was registered in London and produced 40 pre-production vehicles that were built between 1967 and 1970.
The Range Rover was launched in 1970. In the early 1970s, the Musée du Louvre in Paris exhibited a Range Rover as an "exemplary work of industrial design".
In 1971, ex-Cream drummer Ginger Baker used the unproven Range Rover to drive from Algeria to Lagos, Nigeria, to set up a recording studio and jam with Fela Kuti. Predating the Paris-Dakar rally the subsequent documentary is replete with such terrain, documenting the vehicle's endurance.
In 1972, the British Trans-Americas Expedition became the first vehicle-based expedition to traverse the Americas from north to south, including traversing the roadless Darién Gap. The specially modified Range Rovers used for this expedition are now on display in the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust collection at Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Range Rover sub-brands have been launched. In 2004, Land Rover debuted the Range Rover Sport, based on the Land Rover Discovery platform. Later models received the latest Range Rover platform. In 2011 came the Range Rover Evoque, and in 2017 the Range Rover Velar (re-using the name of the very first, pre-production Range Rovers).

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2021 Land rover Range rover.

- Components: BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
- Summary: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles equipped with a Surround Camera System. Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display or display a distorted image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rearview camera and add a new seal or replace the camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed to Range Rover owners March 4, 2024. Interim notification letters were mailed to Range Rover Sport owners March 7, 2024. Range Rover Sport owners will receive a second notice once remedy parts become available. - Consequence: An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the engine cam carrier and related components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2023. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N763.

The seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly.
- Consequence: An unsecured child restraint system can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed October 20, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N630.

I am thrilled with my purchase! Despite some initial challenges with the InControl setup, I am now enjoying all the amazing features of my new truck. I love its unique physical presence and the fact that it's not a common sight on the road. The dealership was able to offer me a 5% discount and even arranged for home delivery, which was a great convenience. Although I previously owned an X7, this truck surpasses it in many ways. I am still experiencing some minor issues with the InControl system, but overall I am very satisfied with my decision. While the fuel economy is not the best, I understand that this is to be expected with a vehicle of this caliber.

From someone who has owned a range of cars, including BMW X7, QX7, MBZ G and GLS GLE, and even my CLS, I can confidently say that my 2019 supercharged Range Rover is the best of the best. It has all the tech you need, and with InControl, it's easy to use. The only thing I miss is the BMW's welcome and goodbye feature. But when it comes to power, performance, and looks, the Range Rover is hands down the winner.

I recently purchased a 2020 RR PHEV from an official dealer in Atlanta, GA on 6/18/2020. Unfortunately, the engine light turned on when I arrived home and despite three visits to the dealer service center and the replacement of various parts, the issue persisted. The car is currently undergoing its fourth service in the last month. However, I have been informed that a new hybrid software will be available at the end of September 2020 and that all models of this car worldwide will be recalled for this update. While it has been frustrating to have a new and expensive car in service for so long, I appreciate the dealer's efforts to resolve the issue and look forward to the software update.

In October 2020, I purchased the new 2020 Range Rover Sport on the day after my retirement. Unfortunately, four months later, the rear spoiler failed and fell off while I was driving. I immediately took it back to Land Rover South Shore in Crown Point, Indiana. Despite my disappointment, I remained confident in their ability to resolve the issue. However, I was disappointed to find that neither the Service Manager nor anyone else at the dealership was able to provide any helpful assistance. When I contacted the North America Headquarters, they initially suggested that the issue was caused by something I had done, or even by the car wash business I have an unlimited membership with. However, I was able to provide still pictures from the business showing my vehicle as it entered and left the carwash undamaged. After conducting a thorough investigation, they were able to determine that the issue was not caused by any fault of my own, and they took full responsibility for the issue. Although I was disappointed with the initial response, I am now confident in the ability of Land Rover to resolve any issues that may arise in the future. If anyone else has experienced a similar problem, I would be interested in hearing about your experience.

Although I had been a Mercedes fan, I decided to try the Range Rover for a change. However, within the first month, I encountered several electronic issues, including a lethargic touch control. Additionally, my trunk door latch had issues, which prevented me from locking my doors. Despite taking it to the shop three times for that issue, it persisted. As a result, I was eager to turn in the lease and return to my Mercedes GLS 550, which I have always found to be a reliable and superior vehicle.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my 2014 Range Rover Sport Autobiography. It's been a great car with only about 25k original miles, and I've taken great care of it over the years. Recently, I did have to replace the entire brake system and undercarriage, which ended up costing around $36,000. While I've owned used cars in the past that were 10-14 years old without any issues, unfortunately, this truck is 7 years old and the entire subframe oxidized. It's frustrating that the price of parts seems to be going up while the quality goes down. When we reached out to corporate, they unfortunately wouldn't take any responsibility, only offering a couple of thousand back towards repairs. They told us it happened after the warranty expired. Our issue is that the truck was maintained yearly by the dealer, and we were never informed about any rust issues. We only found out when our brake line started to leak brake fluid because of how badly it had rusted. If you own this truck or any Land Rover and live in an area where you get snow, I would highly recommend having the undercarriage protected before the winter. While I can't guarantee it will stop this issue, hopefully, it will help. Thanks for listening!
